The Day She Stopped Caring

Charlotte Spencer was the perfect wife to Alexander Forbes and the devoted mother to their five-year-old son. She spent years mastering nutrition plans and medical care, sacrificing her own dreams to manage their son’s severe allergies. But on the day Charlotte suffered a painful scalding accident, her husband didn’t rush to her side. Instead, he held another woman’s hand, his voice soft with concern: “Are you hurt?” The betrayal cut deeper when her own son looked up at her with cold eyes. “I prefer Auntie Sabrina,” he said. “She’s gentle, beautiful, and talented. Unlike you, Mom. You’re just a housewife.” On Charlotte’s birthday, she overheard the woman who had stolen her life ask Alexander a single, devastating question: “Will you ever love me?” His answer was immediate. “Yes.” In that moment, the truth shattered her world. It wasn’t that she hadn’t tried hard enough; it was that he had never loved her at all. Watching them lost in their own intimacy, Charlotte finally stopped fighting for a place in a home where she was never truly wanted. She turned her back on the only life she had known, her voice steady and final. “ Alexander Forbes, I want a divorce.”
