Chapter 28 Almost got exposed

Another month passed and she managed not to get pregnant. Even though she was having slight health problems, she couldn’t be pregnant at all costs. Ayden was still compromising with her not being able to conceive again.

He was having a shower In the bathroom while Eve was sitting on the couch reading a book, he bought some time back.

He came out and walked towards his closet and wore a t- shirt and sweatpants looking effortlessly handsome. Eve kept on reading the book.

“Why haven’t you thrown them yet?” He asked, holding a pack of pills.

Her blood ran cold. She composed herself and looking at him, got up.

“What is it?” She asked as if not knowing what they were and came to look at them.

“Ouch…” She groaned in pain and tightly pressed her hand on the stomach. She didn’t act this time. The period hurt as hell.

Ayden ran towards her and made her sit on the bed. Her condition frightened him and he called Laura. He asked her to bring the heat pad while he tried to comfort her.

Eve laid down on the bed and Laura came up with the heating pad. After putting it on her stomach, Ayden looked at her in worry.

“Why is this happening to you?” He asked desperately.

“Maybe because I’m suddenly trying to gain weight.” She said just to answer his question.

Laura was still standing there when Eve thought of something.

“Laura, can you please throw these pills? Take them with you.”

“No…. Laura, you stay here with her. I’ll throw them away. I’m going downstairs.” Ayden said.

Eve just stared at him. If Ayden throws those pills away, from where will she get them again? She was worried thinking about this but did not express the concern on her face.

“I’ll be back in an hour or so.” He said, caressing her face.

With this, he left the room. Eve sat there with a blank face. She lost her most important thing. Apart from Laura, no one else knew about this.

If this house was a normal house, she would’ve asked Laura to buy her some but it wasn’t possible either. She along with other helpers were not allowed to go outside.

That day, Laura went with Eve because she insisted on letting her come with them. Also, Ayden was in a good mood because of all the baby discussion they did.

What’s more, she couldn’t even pretend to be sick now because Ayden used to call the doctor at home. Not only this, he had also got some medical equipment kept at home. Since last month, the security in the house has been increased.

“Don’t worry, Eve. We will think of a way.” Laura tried to console her.

She had to find some way as soon as possible. After thinking for some time, she got up from the bed in difficulty.

“Eve, where are you going?” Laura asked.

“I’ll be back in a jiffy.”

She walked towards Grace’s room and Freya was also there, feeding her. After she was done, Eve took Grace from her.

“How do you tolerate her all the time? She makes me so angry that I don’t even want to see her face.” Freya said looking at the little child playing with Eve.

“I love her, Freya. She is so innocent…so sweet. The way she makes me forget everything when I’m with her, the way she smiles at me, makes me fond of her even more.” Eve said, smiling at Gracie who smiled back at her.

“Look at you being all poetic.” Freya said, sarcastically.

After some minutes of silence, Eve finally said, “Do you have some pills?” She asked as normally as she could, without any sign of hesitation.

Freya stared at him for some seconds and then got up, walking out of the room. She returned after some time with a medicine strip in her hand.

She gave it to Eve and then walked away again. After putting Grace to sleep, Eve also walked out of the room.

This time she hid the pills at a place he would never suspect and then laid down on the bed. After some time, Ayden came back while she wasn’t asleep. The pain has reduced but she was still having a hard time sleeping.

“Can’t sleep?” He asked, moving closer to her.

“Yes.” She replied softly.

She was already on his side. Putting his one hand on her back, he hugged her.

“We’ve to move to another place..” He said after some time.

Eve looked up to see his face, a little confused. She asked him the reason for it.

“We are not safe here anymore.”

Maybe he got some information about the NSF plans. What if he knows that she works for them. The thought made her uneasy.

‘If he knew this, he would’ve killed her by now. But he hasn’t. Even if he was even a little suspicious about her, he would’ve assaulted her in order to find the truth.’ She thought and calmed her down.

“Do you like this place?” He asked.

She didn’t know how to answer that. This house is a prison. How can anyone like their prison?

He waited for her reply while she kept on thinking.

“I don’t know.” She replied and looked at him with fear filled eyes. She was scared as to how he would react to that.

“Don’t worry, you will definitely love the new place.” He said without looking at her.

“Do we have to move?” She asked.

“Yes, we have to.”

“Where are we going to go?” She asked in hesitation.

Ayden kissed her forehead and replied, “You don’t have to worry about that. Just know that you are coming with me.”

His words didn’t sound like a threat but it was a bit mysterious. By saying more words would provoke him thinking of which she remained silent.

Her current location wasn’t known to the NSF and now if they got shifted to another, maybe they’ll never find her. She has to tell Stefan about this.

Snuggling closer to him, she put her hand on his chest and closed her eyes. Ayden eyed her suspiciously, but said nothing.
