Apologies
Chapter Eighty-Six – Apologies
The trial was in few days time. Selene became really hot stuff. Dominic sipped on the orange juice Dorian had given him. The comments were entertaining now.
Mr. Allen had much more enemies than he knew. Many of them were in the comments engaging in comment sections battles with Mr. Allen deranged fans.
Even Brielle's fan boys were in the comments, only defending Mr. Allen because he hurt their 'rival' Young Master Dominic Thales.
Dominic also noticed his fan girls replying Brielle's fan boys. He smirked. The comment section was a really interesting place to be. It had lots of laughs too.
There was a knock on his door and Dominic closed the laptop. He had little to do that day, he could even spend it entertaining himself with the comments.
Someone entered his office and Dominic's expression changed. "Norman?!" What was a brat like him doing at his office?
The office door widened and Lucian walked in. "Daddy, he said he wanted to speak with you."
Dominic frowned. He had told Lucian and Dorian to sit at the receptionist station while playing at being receptionists. The actual receptionist had called in sick.
Why did they let such a man in?
He stood up. "Thank you, Lucian. I'd handle the guest."
Lucian smiled at being praised by his father, then he left the door, rushing back to his station with Dorian.
Dominic glared at Norman. The man had eye bags under his eyes. "What do you want? If you want a job here then I don't have one for someone like you."
Norman nodded. "Indeed, I reduced to an unemployed man in your eyes." He looked up. "You dealt with me."
"As I promised." Dominic smirked.
Norman ran his hands through his hair. "You didn't have to be that mean to me. I did nothing to you…"
"That's funny. Your charges would say otherwise."
"Well, the boy turned out not to be an orphan."
"And that's a good thing. It doesn't change your words, not even one bit." Dominic stressed. "Could you leave?"
Norman nodded, looking down. "I brought this upon myself, right? I shouldn't have messed with the Thales family in my life."
Those words made Dominic feel smug but he didn't react to it. Selene was the major reason he was able to put fear in those he put fear in. She was his powerhouse.
"Are you apologizing or what?" Dominic raised a brow. "You know how busy I am. I need space."
Norman exhaled. "I want you to help me."
The audacity. Dominic scoffed. "Get out!"
"I'm serious." Norman remained calm. "I can't fail like this. And yes, I'm apologizing. I'd apologize to the boy too."
He can't be serious. Dominic sat down in his chair, with crossed legs. "You are serious?"
Norman nodded. "I don't want any other trouble. Just let my next business grow. I don't want to be seen as a failure by my father."
Dominic's brows lowered as he said that part. Being seen by a failure by family was a thing he related to, to some extent. His grandfather didn't trust him till later.
"Well, not everyone have my grace. Starting a business again after your case and defamation will be hard. Are you also expecting help from me?"
"Y-Yes, if possible. I'd give a public apology to the boy if you want to." Norman replied.
Dominic shook his head. That would be going too far. It's not like Lucas had been totally polite either.
"Take Lucas to a gaming site tomorrow. Post it on your social media account that you made up with him."
Norman looked perplexed. "R-Really? That's it?"
"We used the media to tarnish you so you can use the media to redeem yourself. The media is really powerful." Dominic raised a finger. "Then leave the rest to me."
Was he really serious? Norman slowly nodded.
"And make sure he has a good time." Dominic added. "Lucas doesn't fake emotions, if he doesn't have a good time, he wouldn't smile in the picture and it'd look fake."
That could be a hassle. Norman asked. "Is there any other thing he likes?" he should explore other options.
"Hmm. He likes movies, ones that are thrilling and on the edge of horror. Detective or mafia movies could work." Dominic replied. "It shouldn't be too dark too."
Norman's face turned to a scowl. Why did such a kid like those kind of movies? But then he smiled. "I can handle that. Those are the type I like too."
Dominic closed his hands. "When will you be free then? You might need to talk with his mother too and then, apologize to her too. Then you're good to go."
Ms. Thales? That was another hard obstacle. Norman swallowed hard. "Yes, thank you. I'd handle it from there."
Dominic smiled as Norman walked out. Like Freud, he keeps getting back some of his old minions. Not like he still needed them, their scummy nature had stained them.
Lucas will be happy to go to a gaming site like he wanted but Dominic was too busy to take him. It will be killing two birds with one stone.
There was a knock on Dominic's door when he opened his laptop to entertain himself with more comments.
"Come on in." he tried not to sound frustrated.
Dorian peeked in. "Daddy, this man wants to see you…"
Dominic frowned on seeing his son high up, like he was being carried by an adult. The door opened. "Hey."
Dominic didn't know how to react. What was his cousin, Neon, doing at his office? He smirked. Could it be because he realized Selene worked for him?
"Good day." Dominic stood up, and reached for Dorian.
Neon thought he wanted to shake but got his hand hung there when Dominic took his son from him. Dorian smiled, on being exchanged by the two men.
"Right." Neon dropped his hands. "And good day too."
Dominic gave the young man the side eyes. He had made it clear that he didn't want the Duncans in his life. What did this one want?
