Argue
Chapter Eighty-Four – Argue
The day of charging came. Dominic was thoroughly grateful for the people in his life. Immediately the charges became live, Silas took it live, literally.
It had been trending for the past two hours. The secret of Thales Empire's fall. Dominic wasn't really fond of that tag because to him, the empire hadn't fallen but it could have.
The young master had gotten numerous submissions of fan mails, especially those entitled fans who were asking him to give the full summary of what happened.
Dominic was glad they bothered to know.
Selene made the charges sound really heinous. Tadashi was charged with kidnap, manslaughter and torture of Lucas' father and Mrs. Thales.
The man would never get a light sentence especially as he was in a foreign country. Death was a probability for him.
Mrs. Jones was charged with conspiracy, murder and attempted murder, law breaking, evading police, amongst other possible charges. Selene just kept them coming.
Mr. Allen, the big fish had countless charges including murder, attempted murder and causing bodily harm.
Dominic frowned on seeing comments on the trending posts say the charges were lies as Thales Empire was just jealous of Allen's fast growth after they fell.
The mind of amateur fan boys behind their phones. It would always be so peculiar. It didn't bother the young master, some reasonable commenters had replied them.
Dominic closed his laptop, he needed to eat before checking the trends again. There were comments that would make him angry, he shouldn't be hungry too.
He knocked on the room where the twins stayed. There was a sound, but then nothing. He knocked again before hearing a shout.
"I didn't ask you to leave his house but know your place!"
That was his Aunt Pamela, wasn't it? Dining tried going in then noticed the twins, Jake and Lucas outside.
Jake covered Lucian's ears while Lucas covered Dorian's ears. They looked annoyed.
The father could only guess what's happening, he entered the room and met Pamela and Brielle arguing.
"Good, he's here."
Dominic felt startled by that. His Aunt didn't want him to pick sides, does she? "Aunt Pamela, Brielle, please-"
"Dominic, is it true that my father tried killing Lucas too. I didn't think he'd hurt a child? And Lucas was away, right?" Brielle asked.
Dominic's shoulders fell. What's with this woman? Her father had been charged with all imaginable, including child abuse and she think he wouldn't try to kill a child?
He snapped. "Of course he did, Brielle. And then he took him to the hospital like some saint! Even Selene saw it! Lucas is lucky to be alive-"
"Can you hear that! Yet you good for nothing daughter keep defending him!" Pamela took the case again.
Dominic frowned on the good-for-nothing part. Couldn't they get along? "Please, Aunty, it's alright."
"I'm no good for nothing! Just because you don't know me doesn't mean you should call me that! Compared to you, I'm more successful and-"
"Ah right! And what caused me to be less successful?! Your good for nothing father! Can't believe you'd rub that on my face!" Pamela yelled.
Dominic nodded internally, he didn't expect Brielle to rub that in her face when it's Allen's fault. But then, they were arguing and tension was high so anything could be said.
He remembered the children outside them came between the women. "Please, let's calm down. What started this-"
That was a wrong question but half of it, that could be understood, already left his lips before Dominic could stop.
His Aunt literally pushed him aside to begin explaining how it started, still in front of Brielle, hence more arguing.
Dominic rubbed his head. The women in his household truly had a fast temper. He was no saint but he never flipped easily either.
"That's not true, you started with what was a cheat like me doing, clinging to my ex-husband and I said I'm not you! You started it!" Brielle shouted.
Dominic exhaled, finally making his mind. These kind of arguments weren't healthy for anyone, him, them and most importantly their children listening to it.
Grabbing Brielle by the hand, he pulled her out of room. "Aunt Pamela, I'd go talk to her. Don't worry."
Pamela scoffed. "I don't trust the daughter of Mr. Allen. Dominic, they're other women. Butler Saunders had a beautiful and smart daughter yet you ended up with this?"
Dominic sighed. "I didn't even know Butler Saunders had a daughter. Anyway, aunt, we'd talk later, just calm down-" he felt Brielle pull his hand from his hold.
He turned to her and she was glaring at his with teary eyes. "Are you saying if you knew of Butler Saunders' daughter, you could've married her?"
"Probably." Dominic answered. He didn't mean it.
He got attracted to Brielle's beauty and intelligence, which was something Selene had, but he saw Butler Saunders like a father and would've seen Selene as his sister.
Also, he knew he wasn't Selene's type, she tend to prefer to prefer men who were a godly level of gentlemen.
Still, his choice shouldn't be Brielle's business anymore. They were no longer married. Brielle stormed out of the room at that point. Dominic didn't chase after her.
He turned to his aunt. "How is the company going, Aunt?"
Pamela ran her hands through her hair, shaking her head. "I'm still working on that, it's a really promising one."
Dominic nodded and smiled. "Please, work on it while avoiding cases like this. We don't have much time."
Pamela stared at her nephew then sighed. "I understand. That woman would never make me rile up again. I know it's because of the kids that you keep her close."
Dominic didn't know how to respond, thankfully his aunt walked off without expecting a reply. He searched himself, was there any special reason he kept Brielle close?
