No Proof

Chapter Eighty-Three – No proof

Dominic smirked. He had also forgotten that she could be crazy too. Her methods would put her in trouble if the doctor's assistant filed a case against her.

Matt cried again as another pen was stabbed into his leg, he felt a thin line of blood stream down his legs.

"Start talking." Brielle ordered. She had to get useful information for Dominic today and now or she wouldn't be able to face him when she would leave here.

Matt cried bitterly. Why was a woman who liked treating him like an animal! All because of that wretched young master. He didn't want to give up. "Milady, I love you!"

A scowl came on Brielle's face. What, in all the things she had said, translated to him giving her a love confession? Wasn't he listening to her?

She pulled out the first pen she stabbed in and Matt wailed again. She looked him dead in the eyes. "That's my response, scum! You should learn to know your place!"

Matt's eyes brimmed with tears. It was no use. Then he wouldn't be saying anything. "You'd never get anything from me. Not now or ever-" he was slapped.

"I'd make it easy. Did you do anything to Dominic while he was in here? Yes or no." Brielle raised the pen to his face.

Matt stared at the pen and then at the merciless woman who he knew won't hesitate to use it on him. "Y-Yes, we did something to him. T-To keep him longer in the coma."

Dominic clenched his fists outside. So even the hospital had something to do with his current predicament?

Brielle glared at the idiot, with hatred.

So the loneliness she had to suffer because of Dominic's absence, was caused by this assistant and Doctor Phil. And she had poured the frustration on her husband.

It was no doubt sent by her father. "Do you have proof?"

Matt shook his head. "I don't know if the doctor does. He sent me to do those things and I did it because I didn't like Dominic and also, the doctor paid me."

He was such a scum! Brielle slapped him again before, leaving his body. Matt immediately reached for the other pen on his body.

While he was on that, Brielle unlocked the door and walked away. She stood out there, at that point, realizing her actions. Would Matt sue her?

Then, she saw Dominic walk out of the hospital, she ran to him, having a small pout. Was he leaving without her?

Now that she knew the Doctor had a hand in his prolonged coma, she couldn't help but feel extremely dismayed by her decision to divorce him.

She knew she would regret it yet did it, she only didn't know she'd regret it this much.

A woman like her, Lady Brielle of the Allen group was running after a man that didn't want her, yet she wanted it.

Dominic slowed down for her to catch up. Since the doctor actually had something to do with it, he'd have to get back him somehow.

But there was no proof, even if he had recorded what Matt said, the assistant could still deny it and say that he was forced to accept it.

The doctor would have destroyed all proof too. There was no way to link him to Mr. Allen.

Still, Dominic couldn't be very sure that the doctor's actions was in respect to being part of a Society. Maybe the man had a different grudge against him?

He started the car when Brielle got in. Her coming along had helped him gain something pivotal to the case, even if she didn't know.

Since there was no other proof, she might not tell him her discoveries yet till she got proof. He'd leave her to that.

Also, from her actions it was clear she still felt something for him, and that made Dominic conflicted.

"Do you want to eat somewhere?" the question sounded more awkward that he had thought in his head.

Brielle turned to him, she was seated at the back seat. She leaned closer. "I don't mind at all." What happened? Was he just hungry or he wanted to eat out with her?

She touched her face so it'd stop heating up.

There was no need being overly excited when it could be a normal request to eat out. He had been holed up in his study since morning so he might be hungry.

Dominic slowed down as he got to his usual restaurant. Deep down, he hoped that brattish lady would be there. He'd leave her to Brielle.

He opened the door for Brielle and she slowly got out, wondering why she was suddenly getting princess treatment.

"Is there something you want to eat? They have majorly desserts here though. I like it because it's still heavy."

Brielle smiled. Her ex-husband had always like desserts and trying her hand at different desserts had been her hobby at one point. But everything came crashing down.

As he expected, the brattish lady was in there. Dominic sighed. Could she actually be living in the restaurant? She was always there when he showed up.

Brielle followed Dominic's gaze and found the lady he was staring at. She frowned, why did he suddenly get interested in that lady? Who was she even?

"Let's order." He said, heading to the front. "You can try buying from that end though. It's usually sugary."

Brielle's mood changed. So he remembered she liked sugary things? She was glad he hadn't forgotten her likes.

The brattish lady turned at that point, and locked eyes with Dominic. A scowl came to her face, why did she have to see him all the time?

She looked around him and he seemed to be alone. She smirked. It was time to spell things out especially now that she had a better boyfriend.

"And the useless man is here again."

Dominic sighed. Why did he send Brielle far off? Who'd deal with this woman now? "Did you get a new boyfriend?"

"Yes. CEO Neon of the Duncan's family." She was smug.

Neon? Dominic raised a brow. He looked the girl over. Neon really liked Selene, so he must have picked an identical young redhead to compensate.

"I really pity you." Dominic scoffed.
