Chapter Seventy-Nine – The Members

Pamela's head snapped to his. "What?! Why?"

Lucas immediately interjected. "It's not a mistake, Uncle Domi." Did his uncle mean everything that happened was a mistake? The twins? Jake? "You liked Aunty Brielle."

Dominic froze. Truly, he did but if he had left her alone, all the tragedies that happened to him wouldn't have happened. He wouldn't be full of trust issues now.

"Indeed, whether or not you married Brielle, things might still get to this." Selene added. "At least, you're a dad, and you had a chance to know Allen more."

Pamela folded her arms. "It's a good thing she divorced you or I'd have done it myself."

Dominic chuckled nervously. He didn't think his divorce was anything good but he didn't refute. They left the lady with her son afterward.

Selene slapped her book closed. "She's an emotional mess. I'd come back later by afternoon."

"Where are you off to?" Dominic asked, since all the evidence she'd need were already in one place. "If it's personal you don't need to tell me."

"To investigate this Society of course!" Selene snapped, rolling her eyes. "What personal life do I have apart from my work? Please, excuse me." She walked off.

Wasn't that sad that she had no personal life other than her work? Dominic shook his head.

He returned to the room were his kids and Brielle were in. Jake was asleep on Brielle. He looked like he'd been crying. Dominic wondered if it was the emotional moment earlier that got to him?

Brielle sat up on seeing him. "Lucas' mother is alive?" The twins looked at their father for confirmation.

Dominic slowly nodded. "Thankfully, yes."

Brielle held her beating chest, a smile creeping to her face. That was such a sudden news. A sudden good news. "I'm really happy for him. What happened-"

She held herself. She shouldn't overstep her boundary. In her subconscious, she couldn't help but think her father was involved. If he was, then Allen Company had issues.

She could no longer control the company. In fact, she never controlled it before. It was only an illusion her father had placed before her.

She was with the key to the company but he had spares and made sure the company worked like normal even if the manager wasn't around.

She had been deceived all those while, fighting against the man she loved without knowing. Lots of things were too late for her.

"Brielle." She looked up when he called her. Yes?"

"Could you list the people your father is close to? CEOs, Companies, Top Guns, that your father hang out with often, even when not business related." Dominic asked.

That could be the first step to discovering who these Secret Society members were and what connection they had with Mr. Allen that connected Thales family.

"I'd write down what I can b-but is there a reason you need this. Did something happen-"

"Just write it, please. I need to talk to someone." Dominic walked out. He heard small feet behind him and waited.

Dorian hugged his leg. "Did granddaddy do something again?" Lucian was also waiting for the answer.

"Your granddaddy is a very bad man. We'd talk later, Dorian." He pulled the boy from his legs and hurried out.

He wished they'd stop calling Allen, granddaddy because it infuriated him to know his seed was related to that man.

"We need to speak to Tadashi."

Dominic slowed down on seeing Jamie and Silas. Did Selene fill them in already?

He nodded. "That's where I was heading to. He never spoke of a secret society to Selene before."

The shitty man had still been hiding stuff? Dominic's fists clenched. He might need to beat them out of him next.

Silas wrapped his arms around Jamie. "You finally get to leave the office and go on field work."

Jamie sighed as his neck was strained. "I'm coming along because I'd like to ask him about my father. We know it was done by Mr. Allen but we don't know who he sent."

Dominic nodded and they there walked towards the exit. Tadashi had accepted Lucas' parents accident and attempting one on he and Lucas.

But he hadn't spoken about his grandmother or Butler Saunders. Could it be, by any chance, they were still alive somewhere?

Dominic rubbed his face, trying to come back to reality. Aunty Pamela was a unique and treasured case.

If his grandmother was alive, she'd have done everything to come back to them already, she knew she was the only mother figure they had.

Also, Selene and Jamie were sure their father was dead so they must have seen the body and buried it.

They all got into Dominic's car and drove to the prison. After using his influence, Dominic made the security bring Tadashi to them.

The man froze on seeing the three but the door behind him was slammed close. "Good day, gentlemen-"

A punch was sent across his face, making Tadashi stagger. Another was sent to him, then another. Dominic held him up when he tried falling.

"You don't deserve to still be alive."

Om hearing those words, Silas rushed to hold Dominic. "It's okay. Come on, it's okay. You'd mess your hands."

Jamie sighed, walking to Tadashi who almost passed. "You didn't tell us about the Thales daughter. Why?"

"Bastard! Is there something else you're hiding from us?" Dominic shouted, struggling to go to the man amidst being pulled back by Silas.

"What he means is, who killed Mr. Saunders, butler of the Thales Family?" Jamie's gaze darkened on the man.

Tadashi held his swollen face soberly. Would these men kill him if he withheld any information? He looked down. "I wasn't the one. My most recent job was the old lady."

Old lady? His grandmother? Dominic tore Silas' arm away from him and charged at Tadashi. "You should just die!"

Jamie held him back, facing Tadashi. "Then who killed Mr. Saunders?"

Tadashi was shaking violently. Should he keep talking ? "The job was sent to a mafia organization. All I know is that, the boss is named Bethany."

Dominic calmed down. Bethany? Mafia? No way.
