His Girlfriend

Chapter Seventy-Seven – His girlfriend

The lady's eyes were down but immediately Lucas walked out, she looked up, then rushed to him. "My baby!"

Dominic was snapped from his thoughts at her words. Could it be? "Aunty Pamela? Is… that you?" it couldn't be. She was dead. He looked at Silas who wore a smirk.

So that's what he left to do at India? So this was his girlfriend? He held his collar suddenly, startling Silas.

"You knew?" his eyes were tearing up. "How long did you know that Lucas' mother was alive?!"

On hearing his uncle, Lucas became distraught. The woman grabbing him was his mother? He assumed it was his Uncle Silas' over friendly girlfriend. "My mother?"

The lady stopped hugging but held his face closer to hers, joining their foreheads together. The other boys looked confused till they heard their father slid to the ground.

Dominic held his hair, looking down to hide his face.

Silas bent down to him. "Pull yourself together, Domi. This is a good thing, right? I know you're shocked but pull yourself together."

Tears streamed down the young master's eyes at the new realization. Aunt Pamela was alive. His nephew had one more family to lean on. He wouldn't feel alone anymore.

Aunt Pamela wiped the streaming tear leaving her son's eyes. "I'm sorry that I couldn't come sooner. I-I was in a coma after that accident, and then I heard you were…"

Lucas cries became louder and Lucian began to worry. Who was this woman making his father and Lucas so emotional?

He heard small sniffs behind him and found his twin brother, Dorian, crying as he watched Lucas.

He rushed to him. "Dorian, don't cry. I don't think they're crying over a bad thing. Maybe it's that tears of joy thing."

Jake nodded, patting the two on their heads. He had a sober, almost melancholic, expression. "Hmm. Lucas' mother came back to him. It's a good thing."

It made the young boy wonder if his own mother could somehow rise from the dead and come to him but he knew that was completely far fetched.

He entered the office when he noticed he was crying, but the twins followed him sensing his tears weren't of joy.

Few hours after the emotional breakdown session, Dominic locked Silas in Selene's office, asking for answers.

Selene and Bethany were in the room, while Dominic held a metallic ruler. "Start confessing before I use this on you." Dominic frowned.

Silas chuckled nervously. Shouldn't he be thankful for the surprise? "I wanted to give you and Lucas a surprise. What's wrong with that-"

The ruler was raised in the air and Silas ducked. "Okay, okay, chill, Dominic. I get you. It was few weeks back actually. You heard, she was in a coma for years."

Coma? Dominic dropped the ruler on the table. Aunt Pamela was in a very serious accident that caught flames, burning everything.

No body was found but belongings were, so it was assumed they burned to ashes as the fire was that vicious. Who could have saved her?

"She awoke from the coma around the time you fell into yours. She heard the Thales Empire crashed and her son was no where to be found, so she lost hope."

"Where had she been all these while?" Selene asked.

Silas smirked before answering. "India."

Bethany and Selene looked at each other.

"Recently, she was almost killed by Mrs. Jones, right?" Silas asked. "That's why I had to get her out of there. Mrs. Jones was the one who saved her the first time too."

This was becoming really complicated. Dominic rubbed his temples tiredly. The lady Mrs. Jones tried to kill was Lucas' mother, meaning she knew the lady's identity.

But she was also the one who saved her a long time ago so why will she do something like that?

"I think she wanted to use Lucas' mother to trade for us to drop the case." Selene suddenly said.

That made sense too! Dominic left his seat and paced about. This was a good development but also a very serious development. Especially for Lucas.

Dominic had been trying to protect him from all the information but with his mother back, he'd need to know more. Who did this to her? And why?

And names like Mrs. Jones and Master Allen would be mentioned. He didn't want his nephew resenting Casimir and Jeans for being Mrs. Jones children, or resenting Jake and his twins for being Mr. Allen's grandchildren.

"This is still good." Selene left her seat, grabbing her book and pen. "Ms. Pamela can be witness against Mr. Allen. Should I meet her now or wait till she settles down?"

Bethany pulled her down, "Let the lady rest."

Selene shoved his hand away and frowned. "This is quite urgent though but I guess we should give her time-"

"There's no time." Dominic headed to the door. "Mrs. Jones would be back soon, or running to another country to hide forever. But Allen is here so let's trap him."

The plan to use the wristwatch to get him in a tight spot hadn't work. He seemed ready to forfeit the item.

Selene nodded vehemently. She nearly forgot that Mr. Allen was another case.

Pamela was the daughter of the famous Thales. And, her son recently trended for being bullied by Norman despite being an orphan, the news that Mr. Allen had a hand in her death would shock many to the bones.

"I can't believe you didn't realize it's your aunt Pamela I called my girlfriend though." Silas nudged Dominic.

The young master frowned at him. Was he supposed to read his mind to know? But then he remembered that Silas usually called Lucas' mother girlfriend they're little.

He supposedly had a crush on his best friend's aunt and visited all the time because of that. That was another reason he grew fond of Lucas after the parents were gone.

Dominic smirked. "Well, I try not to remember all the foolish things you've done. It will haunt me."

But this foolish thing must be the best he had done so far.
