Chapter 27. Final battle.

Marshalls POV

She was probably nineteen or twenty years old, her dressing alone portrays that she is from an affluent family. she took a seat and dropped her handbag on my table.

"Good day sir" she said humbly

"Good day, I don't usually attend to people without an appointment letter but I saw the way you persisted from the camera, so I asked them to let you in"

"Thank you very much for that, I really appreciate" she replied and smiled

If I ever had a daughter, then she'll be just like her

"So who are you and how can I help you?" I queried

"sir my name is Rachel Merlin" I was taken aback when she mention that

"Are you a daughter to Thomas Merlin?" I asked to be clear

"yes sir" she replied and my countenance changed

"what do you want?" I asked Sternly "Did your father send you here to bribe me?"

"No sir, my dad has no idea that I am back from the States, let alone know that I am here, I received a letter from the court while I was overseas, that's why I'm here"

"So what do you want from me?" I queried

"Sir I've come to plead with you, I know I made a terrible mistake in the past but I am a changed person now, I was just thirteen when it happened, I knew nothing then and I really regret my actions but nothing can change what has happened, that's why I'm begging you sir not to send me to jail, my life would be ruined" She pleaded

I did feel sorry for her, in a way she was right, sending her to jail won't bring back the dead and moreover the family of the deceased have moved on already

"Alright, I'll close the case, but on one condition" I said

"what is the condition Sir?" she asked

"You have to see to it that the family of the disease lacks nothing"

"Sir that's no problem at all, I will do all that" she accepted

well she's nothing like her father and that's the only reason why I decided to consider her plea.

"fine I will have the case closed, just stick to your word"

"I will sir, thanks a lot"

Kirana's POV

We gathered in the sitting room. "So it is agreed that we are going with the plan" Billy asked

"Yes definitely" we all accepted

"That sorcerer will learn that no one messes with the witches of Westham" Reenie ultered

"Um Reenie, I don't think it's a good idea for you to come along"

"What? why not?" she queried

"Well the last time we had an encounter with the sorcerer, things didn't end too well" I said

"Oh, so you're scared that he will kill me again" she snapped

"No, I am scared that you might kill him, I don't want my bestie to be a murderer"

"Don't worry about that princess, I will keep my emotions in check, if there's anyone who should be staying back, it is Billy"

"Me?" Billy yelled "Why me?"

"Because you are a human, you don't have powers or extra lives, Baron will put an arrow through your chest in just a minute" Renee said

"She's right, you need to stay behind" I supported

"but I..."

"please sweetheart" I said

"Alright, I won't go" he concluded wearing a sad face

"Thanks a lot" I smiled and pecked him.

"Hmm, what are you guys not telling me" Reenie Smirked.

Just then the doorbell rang, "I will go check it" I said and ran off to the door. I opened it and met a woman in her mid-40s. she has a striking resemblance to Billy

"Hello ma, are you looking for someone?" I asked

"yes dear, I was told that my son Billy is in here" on hearing that, Billy ran to the door with the speed of usian bolt and opened it Widely

"Mum!" he screamed to my surprise

"I am glad that you still recognise me after 15 years" she said sadly

"Of course, I can't forget the face of the woman who caused me so much pain" he said Sternly

"please my son, don't say that, I would never hurt my own child on purpose"

"you already did mum, why are you here?" Billy asked solemnly

"To make things right" she said

I could see the sadness in her eyes, she wanted to be with her loved ones

"And how do you intend to do that? Dad is never going to accept you, not after you cheated" Billy fired

"I know you both think I am a cheat, but that's not true and I Have evidence"

"keep your evidence to yourself" Billy yelled and shut the door to her face.

I could see the anger and pain in his eyes, that's one thing about the eye it always tells how you are feeling

"Billy" I called softly "you can't just shut your mum out like that"

"Why not? she can't live my life and come back whenever she pleases" he fired

"I understand your pain, but at least hear her out, know what she has to say"

After a lot of persuasion he agreed and let her in.

Billy's POV

After Mom Left, I escorted the girls to the gate and bid them good luck

I walked back to my room and headed for my wardrobe. I'm sorry Kira, I know I promised to stand back but I can't, I need to be there for you no matter the cost.

I brought out a white T-shirt, a black Jean pants and a black jacket, then I went to my safe and input the pin, it opened.

"Dad, I know I promised never to use this again, but I have to, for the sake of love" I pulled the pistol out and blew of the dust

"I've missed you baby" I smiled as I inspected it .

Norman's POV

I woke up that morning and she was gone, I tried calling her but she didn't pick up

Why did she leave so suddenly, I thought everything was fine between us.

I waited throughout the day but she didn't come back, I called office and they reported that she wasn't there, that's when I realised that I didn't even know her address, how could I be so foolish.

I asked the driver where he picked her up the other day she came for dinner but the foolish man has forgotten. I was so worried, where could she be?

Early the next morning, I was preparing for work when I heard the doorbell ring. My heart leaped in joy. It must be Reenie.

I ran to the door but when I opened it, it wasn't my Reenie, it was Rachel my sister. These days everyone just come and goes as they please, no information, no phone calls and no good-byes. why is my life like this?

"Hey big bro, I have missed you" she yelled and jumped onto my body.

Reenie's POV

"Kira are you sure about this?" I asked her as we climbed the stairs

The elf prince has asked us to meet him on the second floor of the building

"Yes, I think so" she replied. I could see the confidence on her face slowly beginning to disappear, she was scared and she was supposed to be.

We are not just going against anybody, we are going toe to toe with the commander of Westham army and the second best Archer in the whole of Westham, but the bright side is that we are also not ordinary, we are the witches of Westham and no matter how skilled an Archer might be, you can't bring bows to a battle of magic.

We got to the second floor and walked into the abandoned Warehouse, it was a large empty room with useless objects laying here and there. The left side of the building was constructed with glass all through. You could see the backyard through it just like a glass house or like the modern skyscrapers.

The sorcerer and Baron were already standing at the other end of the building, they had Naomi with them in the middle.

"I told you they will come" The sorcerer said and the cackled.

Son of a b****, I can't wait to get my revenge on him

"Do you have the seal?" baron asked loudly.

"Yes" Kira replied and raised they scrool up for him to see

"good" he smiled. "you know how the exchange is done in Westham, my old friend here will walk to Reenie with Naomi, and Kira will walk to me with the scrool"

"That's fine by us" I replied and smirked.

when that sorcerer gets here, I will teach him such a lesson that he would never mess with a witch in his next life.

As agreed, Kira proceeded to hand over the scroll to Baron while, the sorcerer walked towards me with Naomi.

Immediately the exchange was done, I lifted the sorcerer and flinged him to the wall with the help of my telekinesis. he crashed on the floor and I lifted him up again, choking him with my powers.

Kirana's POV

The moment Reenie attacked the sorcerer, I made a move at Baron, I was also supposed to use hex to knock him out but I didn't do that, I knocked the scrool out of his hand and held his head with both hands, I wanted to get into his head, to know the truth if he really killed my father, and that's what I did.

I expected some resistance from him but he didn't try to block me out, I found the scene I was looking for, I saw him shoot the arrows, and I saw my dad fall into the valley

"No!!" I screamed and got out of his head.

I was weaken by what I saw, Baron took advantage of the opportunity and grabbed me, pointing his small knife to my throat.

"let go of the sorcerer or your friend dies"

Although I saw everything happening, I was too weak to try and save myself, the sight of my dad falling off that mountain kept replaying in my head. I felt bitter and broken at the same time.

Reenie had no other choice than to comply in order to save me, she let go of the sorcerer.

The sorcerer grabbed his staff immediately and cast a spell. Reenie and Naomi were tied up immediately by a strong magical chain.

This is all my fault, I should have sticked to the plan, my obsession for the truth has caused us defeat, who will save us now?.
