Chapter 23. Reenie is in love!

Reenie's POV

I got to the company and went to check on Norman but he wasn't in his office

I wanted to apologise for skipping work yesterday, Kira insisted that I rest for the day incase the resurrection has side effects

Since he is not in his office, then he will definitely be in mine, he has become so fond of that place

I went to my office but he wasn't there either, where could he be? He is never this late to work

"Perhaps I should ask the secretary, she might know something"

I walked to her counter and tried to get her attention but was too engrossed in the video she was watching and laughing hysterically

"Excuse me" I called put for the second time but she was too taken over to notice my presence

"Excuse me!!" I yelled and she leaped up startled

"Yes ... how can I help you?" She asked rudely chewing her gum

It seems like she has forgotten that I am her superior, second only to the CEO, anyway I ignored her knowing too well that she was no competition for me

Miss Clara, have you seen Norman today" I asked

"You mean Mr Merlin?" She asked foolishly

"No... the handy man, bitch" I cursed in thought

"Yes... do you have any idea where he might be?" I asked trying to keep my cool

"No... he hasn't been to work today" she answered in a rude way and blew the gum ball in my face

I ignored her and started to walk away but then she mumbled something that struck me

"Slut... keep throwing yourself at him" she mumbled under her breath

I turned back to her and she rolled her eyes then took her seat

Maybe I should teach her a little lesson, I silently uttered some spell and walked away

Two minutes later, I heard her screaming and running round the company like a psycho

Well if you want to know, right now she's been chased by a swamp of angry bees, I can't wait to see her new looks cuz those bees won't be merciful at all.

Back to Norman; I picked my phone and dialed his number, it rang twice but he didn't answer

"That's strange, he always answers my call"

I dialed it once again and this time he picked up

"Hey boss... what's up" I smiled

"Ree... Reen... nie" he muttered in a voice that scared me and the call disconnected

My heartbeat picked race, I was terrified, what is happening to him, the last time I had someone sound like this was right before I lost my first and only lover to a terrible disease

I called him two more times but his number was not reachable

"No... I am not losing any other person, I should go check on him"

I rushed out of my office as quick as my legs could go

But why am I so scared of losing him, am I fallen in love again, no.... I can't love any other apart from Ramsey, no one can fill the hole he left in my heart, my only business with men is sex... no feelings attached

I headed for the elevator but before I could get to it's door, the secretary ran in crazily and the bees were quick to join before the elevator door closed

"Okay... that wasn't the best idea she could come up with, I'm sure the next time I see her, she certainly will have a red face"

I ran to the next elevator and hurried in, I pressed the red button and down we went.

Kirana's POV

I walked confidently into SASA, I still need that organization for future purposes.

I knew that gaining their trust and support was not going to be easy so I simply cast a spell on all the agents and staffs to comply

I went into the boss office and took his place as the new director, this way I can monitor all supernatural activities on Earth

I was still cruising the mobile chair in my new office when Steven ; the field agent's captain knocked on the door

I asked him in and he took a seat

"Stephen... is there any problem?" I asked

"No ma'am, it's just that one of our CCTV cameras in a nearby city caught a footage of a strange man" he replied

"What's so strange about this fellow of yours?" I asked trying to sound Stern and bossy

"Ma... he was almost white in complexion, he had this long rat-like ears with a quiver full of arrows" he said taking me aback.

I hope it's not what I am thinking, it better not be

"Was his bow gold in colour?" I asked

"Yes ma'am, and it's construction was nothing like I have seen before" Stephen replied and my heart skipped

"Did he bear a red dot on his forehead?" I asked yet again hoping that the answer will be in the negative but I was wrong

"Yes ma!.. How did you know?" He queried curiously

"Oh no! Baron" I mumbled to myself

"Ma? You said?"

"Um... nothing, thanks for the update, you can go, I will give you instructions later"

"Okay ma" he replied and walked out

I rotated the chair facing the window with a confused face

I don't know whether to be happy or sad, my first and only boyfriend have suddenly showed up on Earth

But how did he make it here, the priestess made it clear that the only way through and out of Westham was the keys with us

I remember that day we were departing, he rushed to the portal just before we vanished, could it be that he made it into the breech, but if he did then where have he been all this while. No... maybe I am mistaken, it can't be him.

Norman's POV

I managed to open my eyes, it was morning already, I was shivering uncontrollably, I was running a high fever, my body temperature could boil a liter of water.

I was alright yesterday morning so I guess the fever must have been due to the day's stress

I don't even remember eating anything yesterday

"Simon!" I called out as loud as my voice could sound but I am sure that a person in the next room will not even be able to hear it to talk more of the gate man who was outside the building

If I knew mom was going to make an emergency trip, I wouldn't have given the maids and servants a break off

My phone started ringing on the bedside shelf where I had dropped it last night. I tried to reach it from the bed but was too weak to. Finally I was able to grab it when it rang the third time

It was Reenie calling, I located the green button and tapped it.

"Hey boss... what's up" her jovial voice sounded from the other end

"Ree... Reen... now" I stuttered weakly

Suddenly... the phone fell off my hand and crashed on the floor

"Damn it" I cursed in thought "That was my only hope of getting help"

My fever kept increasing, I was now breathing fast, it felt like I was put in an oven, I was sweating profusely and my sight started to blur.

I don't know how long later but I saw the door open and someone walked in

I was drowsy and couldn't see clearly who the person was

"Norman!" I heard the person scream and rush to me, it felt like I was dreaming

Just then I shut my eyes and blacked out.

Thomas POV

I barged into the town hall with ten of my able bodied boys trailing behind

"That son of a bitch, he thinks he can do whatever he wants" I spat in a rage

I arrived at his office door and his bodyguards on post denied me entrance asking for an appointment letter

They must be kidding, Thomas Merlin needs no appointment. I turned to my henchmen and gave the signal

Immideately they engaged in a scuffle while I barged into the mayor's office

"Mr Merlin! What's the meaning of this?" He rose up from his seat in anger

"You keep quiet and listen to me!" I yelled

"Excuse me! You might be my political opponent but don't forget I am still in power, don't cross the lines" he fired

"You should have thought about that before you sticked your nose into some other person's business, how dare you reopen a case that has nothing to do with you!"

"I am this city's mayor and everything that happens in it is my business, your daughter committed a hideous offense and you covered her up, do you know how many families that have been destroyed because of drug abuse, forget about that, do you know the sufferings a family goes through when they lose a member, of course you don't, well for your information, I am going to get justice for the family of the deceased" he retorted furiously

"Justice? Since when do politicians care about justice?, Alright... I get it, you are scared that I will defeat you in the upcoming election and your fear is justified, so you decided to use this strategy to scare me off, bravo! Fine... I will step down as soon as you close the case and sign an agreement never to reopen it" I negotiated.

"Mr Merlin... I see how much you love your daughter, you are ready to back off the election for her but unfortunately I am not doing this to secure my position as the mayor, I am doing this for justice sake, you oppressed those poor innocent people and made them go through so much pain, I will bring their son's killer to justice and that's final"

"I see... Mr mayor, you are threading a very dangerous path, I tried making this easy for the both of us but I see that you are hell bent on ruining my family and reputation, don't you dare mess with me, I am not called the wounded tiger for nothing, you have twenty-four hours to close the case or face my wrath" I threatened in anger

"I am not scared of your empty threat, also the next time you barge into my office and cause an uproar like today, I am not going to let you off so easily" he fired

"Hahaha" I cackled "we shall see who ends this game that you started" I lashed out and walked away furiously.

Billy's POV

I looked out of my window and saw Philips standing on the usual spot but Wilson was no where in sight. I picked up my phone from the bed and dialed Philip's number. He answered at first ring

"Hello boss" his hoarse voice sounded

"Yeah... where is Willy?" I queried

"He left to use the restroom"

"Alright... when he is back, inform him that I will be attending a friend's party in few hours, so you two should prepare to accompany me, also inform Kenny, as usual he will drive me in the range Rover sport while you two will come along in the Glk 350, am I clear?" I asked after delivering the instruction

"Yes sir, but there is a problem" he replied

"What is it now, there is always a problem" I yelled

"Sir... Kenny is unavailable at the moment"

"What? Where did he go?" I queried angrily

"Sir... he received information that his wife is in labour, so he had to leave urgently"

"And he didn't even find it necessary to inform me" I yelled and Phillips kept mute

"Alright, change of plans, we will live in the Range Rover sport, you guys should get ready" I instructed

"Alright sir, we will" he replied and I hanged up

Well... that Kenny guy is really lucky, the old Billy cliff would have sent his sack letter straight away to his wife's labour room, I guess I have changed a lot in the past six months

I sat on my bed and was going through my phone when suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my head, there was a screeching sound that me scream out loud

I held my head tight from both sides like I was preventing it from blowing off.

I squeezed my head into the pillow and grabbed the bedspread tight pulling in pains.

Then the pain suddenly stopped but I still felt weird, I stood up groaning and walked to the large mirror.

I looked at the mirror and released yet another scream, this time not because I was in pain but because my eyes were dark red in colour, I had the same look Kira had when she lost her cool and beat the daylight out of the sorceror

"Oh gawd... oh gawd! What is happening to me?" I panicked

I rubbed my eyes with my palm trying to get the deadly look off but when I looked in the mirror, it was still there.

I blinked like thrice and rubbed it again then slowly it faded.

I sat on the bed breathing heavily, I was terrified. Is it just my imagination or did that really happen?

I was confused,. What is going on with me? I slumped onto the bed and took a deep breath

"Kira... where are you?" I muttered.

Episode twenty four

Norman's POV

I slowly opened my eyes to the light, I felt much better if not completely okay.

"Welcome back... Mr Merlin" a familiar voice said to my surprise. I don't remember having any visitor today

I sat up immideately. Reenie walked in with a small tray containing a plate of food whichs content was not visible, and two cups of juice.

"You?" I yelled with surprise written all over my face "how... when? why? What are you doing here?" I bumbled

"hey you should be thanking me for saving your life instead of throwing a bunch of questions at me" she replied and sat on my bedside facing me

"Well in my defence, you are the reason why I fell ill in the first place" I smiled teasing her

"hey that's not true, what did I do?" she said in denial

"you skipped work yesterday and I had to do all by myself, both mine and yours, I got over stressed and that led to a fever" I replied smirking

"fine I'm sorry, it wasn't intentional" she apologized

"better... Now if I should ask, how did you make my fever go so fast? did you invite a special therapist?"

"No I didn't need one, I had my own therapy" she giggled

"And what is it?, the last time I checked, you know nothing about medicine" I asked and she laughed softly

"Well you can just say, I kissed you and poof!, your fever disappeared" she said looking into my eyes

I looked at her with her affection. I think I'm in love

"you know what? I still happen to have a headache" I lied "Could you make it go away" I smirked

She giggled then kept a steady glare on my lips

"do it please! do it!" my inner man yelled

Slowly her head approached mine, we got close and our noses rubbed gently, then I slopped my head a bit to the right ready to welcome her lips. our lips we are just like 10 mm away when her head stopped coming closer

she remained on the position staring at me and smiling. I guess she wants me to make a move. I quickly advanced to lock our lips but just then she leaped up from the bed giggling

"Hey that's not cool" I yelled feigning anger

"Is it? well first you need to go and shower, you stink!" she said and laughed

"hey do you realise you're talking to your boss?"

"You omitted a word, it should be stinking boss" she giggled

"oh fine, you are right... I haven't showered since morning and I'm all sweaty" I admitted

"Good thing you know, now go to the bathroom, I have already prepared your bath" she announced

"You did?, unfortunately I don't bath cold water" I smirked

"I know... that's why I made it warm" she smiled

"oh but, how did you know?" I queried

" How many times do I have to tell you that I am a witch" she joked and giggled.

"If witches were as cute and sweet as you, then no one will be scared of them" I stated solemnly and she laughed softly

"whatever, just go and shower, then we can eat"

"Alright, stay here and go nowhere" I warned

"hahaha, don't worry I'm going nowhere" she laughed

I stood up and walked into the bathroom then purposely left the door open. she's such a sweet girl, I don't know what will have happened to me if she didn't come around

"Wait! Did she really heal me with a kiss? come on, is this some kind of Disney fiction movie?" I scoffed and chuckled

Mckzene's POV

I saw myself in a strange place, it was a very large area with no houses or trees in it. I saw a long queue of people walking towards a long gate. Beings of different kinds, some where wizards just like me, some elves, centaurs (Half human and half horse), Giants, Ferries and so much more

but where could they be going. I stood there puzzled not knowing what to do, I looked back and behold was a large river flowing from East to West

"where am I?" I ask myself loudly

"You are in the boundary between the living and the dead" a familiar voice uttered

I looked behind and standing there was the gatekeeper, in his usual black attire but the difference was that this time, he had no hood on.

"gatekeeper?" I called

"Yes, we meet again son of the sun god" he smiled

"Wait... does this mean I'm dead?" I queried.

"Well... the choice is still in your hands" he replied

"I don't understand, please explain"

"You see those people tropping into the big gate, they are moving on to the other realm, there life in the mortal world is over" he explained

"So that means, if I cross over with them, then I'm dead in the first realm"

"correct... but if you should turn back now and leave before the sun falls, you could make it back alive" he said

I would have loved to see what the second realm looks like, but I still have an uncompleted business in the first realm, so I believe is best to turn around

"Gatekeeper, how do I get back to my mortal body?" I asked

"Behind you there is a big river, and at its bank they are three canoes, take one and paddle to the left, if you can make it to the end of the river then you can go home, but if the sun falls before you get there, then you are stuck here forever" he stated

Well, everyone is going to die someday, but for me, that day is certainly not today. I looked towards the big gate and smiled

"I'll come back for you someday, but for now I got scores to settle" I muttered to myself

I turned around and the gatekeeper was no longer there. What a strange man, he comes and goes as he pleases

I took immideately towards the big River, I arrived at the riverbank and quickly pushed one of the canoes into the river

"oh man, this is so old-fashioned" I mummered

I hopped into the canoe and started paddling to the left as the gatekeeper instructed, it was just as difficult as I imagined but I was determined to make it back. I paddled as fast as my hands could go. The friction was too much but I had no plans of giving up

After what seemed like hours, I looked up and could see the other end of the river I was excited, but my excitement didn't last long because I realised that the sun was going down, slowly disappearing into the thin cloud. I had just a little time to cover a long-distance

"Damn!, I'm never going to make it on time" I caused. The sun was almost gone and my heartbeat picked race

I was about to give up but then the image of my wife and daughter appeared in my mind. I need to make it back, if not for anything for their sake

The thought of that gave me new courage and strength.

"Oh great Helios, god of the sun, please do not take away your light from me, I need you now more than ever" I muttered a silent prayer

Well to my surprise, the sun miraculously returned to its full size and brightness. Helios had answered my prayers "Thank you great one, even in-between two realms, you heard me out" I muttered in appreciation

I kept paddling and finally I made it to the other end. I rolled the canoe out and stepped onto the dry land

immediately something strange happened, I watch my body begin to fade into the thin air, my hands disappeared and the rest of my body as well.

I opened my eyes and found myself laying on a beach with three arrows in my chest. I guess the river must have washed my body up to it's shore.

I pulled off the arrows and struggled up, I was weak, I tried to walk but after few successful steps, I fell down and blacked out again

Norman's POV

"Reenie!" I suddenly called out like I was in pain

"Yes? what's wrong?" she shouted from the bedroom

"Get me a towel quickly, I have soap in my eyes" I yelled

"You mean I should come in there, but I'm pretty sure you have no clothes on" she replied

"Hey! just get in here!, I'm in the bathtub and covered up with soap foam, so I'm sure you wouldn't see anything" I retorted

"Fine am coming" she replied and walked into my bathroom

I purposely closed my eyes and pretended to be in pain.

"Here's a towel" she said stretching her hand to me. I open my eyes immediately and drew her into the bathtub making sure she landed safely on my unclad body

"oh my god!" she screamed

"hahaha... got you!" I smiled and she opened her mouth in disbelief

"How could you?" She yelled

"well, I needed company" I smiled looking into her eyes

"I never said I needed a bath" she retorted

"well now you don't only need a bath, but new clothes too"

"You!" she snapped. Just then she realised she had been laying on my unclad body while arguing with me all this while

she tried to get off me but I held her waist and pinned her down on to me, this time she got real wet, I mean the normal kind of wet.

Her boobs were pressed hard against my bare chest "you can't leave until you give me my kiss" I smirked

"Oh I see, you're such a naughty boy" she said and smiled

"In my defence... I wasn't like this until you came, so it's kind of your fault"

"My fault? how is it my fault?" She queried

"it's your fault cuz you are so hot and attractive that I can't resist touching you" The moment I said those words, I noticed her expression changed, she blushed then laughed shyly before looking back into my eyes

I couldn't wait another second, I locked our lips and engaged in a deep kiss.

Her hand explored my unclad body from one end to the other while I somehow managed to get off her green long sleeve shirt

One thing led to another and before I knew it, she was riding me right in the bathtub

Kirana's POV

I came back from office early, well I'm the boss now so I can do what I want

I went into our apartment and the place was quiet like a graveyard. Reenie ain't back from work yet and Noami must have left to see her secret boyfriend.

I smiled at the thought of that, she's just sixteen, yet she's in love already, love is such a crazy feeling, it makes you do unimaginable things.

Speaking of love, I think I should go hang out with Billy, if I stay in this quiet place I might go cray cray.

I walked out of our apartment and headed for Billy's building. I noticed Wilson cleaning one of the cars

It seems like Billy is going somewhere. I got into his building and started climbing the flights of stairs up. it's been a while since I was here last. I got close to his room and his strong cologne hit my nose. I can sniff him from a distance

I got to his door and even the corridor smells nice, I wonder how awesome his room will smell

"Come in Kira" his voice sounded from inside

wait, I only knocked and didn't utter a word, so how did he know it is me. I open the door and walked in, I was stunned at sight of him. he was looking hot in a body fitting white T-shirt that emphasized his abs matched with a black striped jeans pants

He was facing the mirror while trying to fix the ice stoned ear ring on his left ear lobe. I could see the fire in his grey eyes.

I keep asking, is he some sort of demigod? or an angel cast down from the sky

my gaze went down to his foot, he was putting on a white sneaker with heels. I looked up again to his dark curly hair with his left to swoosh, I didn't realise I was drooling

"Kira! are you ok?" he asked calling back my attention

"Yeah I'm fine" I replied trying to act normal

"well you've been quiet since the last ten minutes you walked in" he smiled "I also noticed you are eye-raping me" he chuckled

"Me? when? how? That's not true" I protested and scoffed

"I saw you, don't lie" he argued smiling

"okay fine, I was staring" I gave in. "you... you look hot by the way" I said shyly

"Thanks" he smiled "you know that's actually the first time you complimented me" he said with a smirk

"hey that's not true, I compliment you all the time"

"okay remind me one time you said something nice about my looks" he said

Well... at the... um" I started trying hard to remember but I guess he was right

"Um... where you going?" I asked with a smile

"Are you changing the topic?" He queried wearing a smirk on his cute face

"Yes I am" I replied and laughed

"Well I'm going to a friend's party, wanna come along?" he asked while combing his hair slowly

what do I say now? maybe I should go with, this is my opportunity to get the truth out of him, to know how he really feels about me

"yes... It's boring here so I would love to come along"

"great... be ready in ten minutes" he concluded. Well I hope today turns out good for me.
