Chapter 22. She rose again! Son of the sun god.

Kirana's POV

I opened the door to her room and Billy carried her in, he laid her on the bed and I walked to him by her bedside

"What do we do now Kira?"

"Nothing... just wait for her to wake up" I said with no visible expressions

"Wake up? But she is dead?" He said

"Yeah, her first life is over, however witches live three lifetimes in the mortal world before transcending to the other realm, so she still has two to go" I explained.

"Wow... I didn't know that, that's why I said what I said earlier, am really sorry" he apologized

"It's fine, you didn't do anything wrong, I was just heartbroken and upset, that's why I sounded rude, sorry about that" I said

"You don't need to apologise, I do understand how you feel" he said softly and pulled me into his arms

At first I didn't know whether to hug him back or not but I felt safe in his strong arms so I put my hands behind him and hugged him tight

I wish he would never let go, hugging him had taken away most of my grief, his warm body gave me the comfort I needed

After like five minutes, I pulled off and sat on Reenie's bedside

"I should help her change her outfit, she wouldn't like to wake up looking all blood stained"

"Yeah... I also do have some of it on me, so I would go and shower, then wear something else, I will be back" he said

"Okay... go on" I replied coldly and forced a little smile before he walked out

I patted Reenie's head gently and moved her hairs to the sides

"I hope you can forgive me Reenie, maybe the sorceror was right, I am always late" I whispered as tears rolled down my eyes

I took off her clothes, it was quite difficult as her body was starting to stiffen, then I cleaned her up with a towel and warm water, after that I helped her put on new clothes

I covered her properly with a blanket and left the room to freshen up.

Naomi was already fast asleep, the poor girl must be exhausted after the whole incident

After freshing up, I sprayed perfume on my body and went back to Reenie's room

I kept a chair by her bedside and sat on it, few minutes later, Billy joined me

He kept a seat very close to mine and sat.

"Kira... are you okay" he asked softly with emotions flaring through his eyes

"Yes... I am better" I faked a smile then turned back to Reenie in order to avoid those grey eyes

He must be wondering why I kissed him back there, well I don't know why either

When my eyes turned red, I was no longer in control of myself, I knew what I was doing but I didn't know what was making me do it, I have never seen that side of me before, it felt like my inner woman was in control, doing things the normal me would have lacked courage to do, there was no room for thinking, am surprised that I didn't kill anyone, I was completely out of control, but the moment my lips met his, it felt like something heavy was taking off me, like cold water was poured on me and somehow I got back to normal

"Kira... how long will the resurrection take" he asked with cognisable curiosity

"Usually eight to ten hours" I replied

"Which means... since its seven pm, she would be up early in the morning" he calculated

"Yeah... I guess so"

"Well then, why don't you go get some rest, I am sure you are tired" he said

"No... I want to be here when she wakes up" I said refusing his suggestion

"Alright... it's already dark, so I will leave now, take care of yourself"

He stood up to leave and i held his hand, stopping him from doing so

"Billy... please don't leave me, I am scared" I spoke softly

He sat back and placed my head on his shoulder, then he cuddled me from the side

"You have nothing to fear, I am here with you, I always will be" he comforted me like a baby

How I wish you could see yourself through my eyes, then you would realize how much I love you

Maybe he is also in love with me, but when am I going to know what is in his heart, I am dying of anxiety

Reenie's POV

I opened my eyes to the daylight coming in from the window, the air smelled nice, it felt like home, I could sniff the aroma of something yummy

"Is that bacon?" I wondered inside me

I looked closely at the ceiling, then I realized where I was

I am in my room at the cliff mansion, on my huge comfy bed

Apart from the mouth-watering smell of bacon, I perceived something familiar, a colgene that I was used to, but who does it belong to?

I turned to the left and there of course he was... By my bedside were two seats, on the first one sat the popular Mr handsome flirt; Billy cliff, son of the mayor marshal cliff and Sidney towns most eligible bachelor

On the second chair was my very own bestie, princess kirana Mckzene of the witch kingdom and sole heir to the throne

They were both deep asleep in an interesting position, Kira rested her head on his shoulder and he had his hand crossed over her, with his head relaxed over hers

I looked towards the other end of my bed and saw my phone laying on the bedside shelf

I stretched my hand and grabbed it then took a photo of them

"I am definitely keeping this" I said in thoughts and smiled

They look so cute together, I don't get why they just can't confess their feelings to each other

I made to sit up and that alerted them, they woke up at the same time and Kira rushed to sit beside me

I could see that she was excited, like she hasn't seen me in years and her eyes were red like someone who had been crying for a while

"Reenie... you are up" she half yelled

"Um.... yeah, am I not supposed to be?" I asked and smiled

"Of course you are, it's just that you took really long and that scared me" she replied

"Reenie... are you okay?" Billy asked looking surprised like he was seeing a ghost

"Um... yeah, am I not supposed to be?" I asked again and he chuckled

"Reenie... I am really sorry I couldn't save you, you are here because of me and my dad, so it's my responsibility to look after you" she said

"First of all, I am not your responsibility and secondly, what do you mean by you couldn't save me, I am totally fine" I said

" Yeah... but ... but you... you..."

"I what?" I asked with a scrutinizing look

"You lost... you lost a life" she stuttered

I couldn't put together what she said at first, then suddenly I understood her words

I quickly pulled out the necklace from the cover of my cloth and looked at the stone

She was saying the truth, the stone in it's locket had changed from Green colour to yellow, I had lost my first life, I couldn't believe my eyes, how did this happen

"No.. this cant be..." I muttered as tears crept down my cheeks

"Reenie... I am sorry" Kira said sympathetically

"The sorceror? What happened to him?" I asked as it suddenly crossed my mind

"He is gone... I threw him into the portal, he will face Westham justice" she stated

"And the key to the portal?" I queried

"Its with Naomi" Kira replied

Just then the door swings open and Naomi walked in with a tray containing four filled cups

"Speak of the devil" I muttered and Kira laughed

"Morning everyone, welcome back to earth Reenie, I made some tea" she smiled

"Just tea?" I asked and she chuckled

"Yeah" she replied and served the tea

"You are lying" I said softly and smirked

"Fine... you got me, there is pork too"

"Yes! I knew it! Bacon!, I will go serve myself" I said and jumped up from the bed

"Careful!" Billy warned

"Yeah... I will be, and lest I forget, I actually have a picture of you two sleeping on each other's body, trust me it's cute and so romantic" I giggled

"You have what?!!" Kira screamed and Billy opened his mouth in disbelief

"Yeah... I took it while you were busy dozing and I am gonna post it on my blog, hash tag cute couple, trust me Billy your fans will go wild"

"No you are not going to that" Kira yelled pointing a finger at me

"Oh yes I will" I laughed and ran off to the kitchen while she followed behind.

Mckzene's POV

Finally we made it to the end of the tunnel, just as Ramzoh had described, there were two doors

One on the left and the other on the right, in between the doors sat a man, who I believe to be the gate keeper

He was dressed in a black robe and his face was hidden with a black hood

I looked at Baron who was breathing like someone who just fell from a tall tree

Few minutes back, he was at the edge of giving up, we had been walking for days which I couldn't keep count of

Our legs were now sore from trekking, I really miss my powers but thank the gods we made it

I took a deep breath then walked to the mysterious ancient Gatekeeper. I placed my hand on the head of my sword ready to draw it if the need arises

"Welcome Mckzene, son of the sun god" he said immidiately I approached him

What a strange man, his head is bowed down and he hasn't even met me before yet he identified me

Just then his statement resounded in my ears making me aware of something strange

"Son of the sun god?" I asked in bafflement

"Yes... I guess you never knew" he replied with his face still bowed

"Never knew what?" I queried in curiosity

"Many many years ago... your father, a common wizard from a poor background, he was a good man who spoke the truth and because of that, he had so many enemies" he said and I opened my ears to get the complete story

I was interested in hearing what he had to say because I never knew my dad or my family

"At a time, they came against him , he lost his wife in the fight and escaped with his baby boy... he fled to the temple of of Helios, the sun god, also known as the Titan, he dedicated you to Helios right before his enemies caught up with him, he tried to fight them but they out matched him, they slaughtered him in the temple right in front of the baby"

"After killing father, the thought it would be wise to also kill son so that his lineage ends... but when they tried to kill you, Helios intervened!"

"He appeared in his glory, his head was a sun and it's light blinded the enemies, they scrambled off and fled for their lives in terror of the sun god" he stated

"Wow... I guess that's why I never knew my family" I said in thoughts

"Later on..." The gatekeeper continued "the priest of Helios found you, he raised you to be a warrior as directed by the sun god, you became a nightmare to the rebels, with the mighty sword of Ares... you slayed all that came against you, your bravery, strength and pursuit for justice made you popular, not only in the witch kingdom but the whole of Westham, because of you... the witch kingdom the capital of Westham, they most superior kingdom, so they people made you their king, the first king of the Witch kingdom"

"He is right, I am the first king of the witch kingdom and I was given that honour after I single handedly defeated a giant bear causing havoc in the kingdom"

"After been fed with so much power, you became greedy, you wanted more, and so you went after the Ancient seal, you chose the dark path and Helios left you, his guardian spirit departed from you, the sun god was not in support of your evil ways, he took back the powers he planted in you and you became weak, you are still wondering how the priestess was able to defeat you so easily the day you attacked the temple to steal the scrool" he paused then continued

"It's because you were alone, your guide had departed, leaving you empty, as long as you continue to trail in the dark path... you can never return to your glory!" The gatekeeper stated with finality

His words touched the deepest part of my heart, remembering the good old days made me realize my mistake

"Don't listen him Mckzene, you are on the right path" a dark voice said in my head

"He is lying to you, believe the gatekeeper" Another voice yelled

"No... Mckzene, don't forget why you are here" the first voice yelled again

"Shut up!" I yelled and shut my ears

I slumped down to my knees weakly and took a deep breath

"You are right... I messed up big time, I just realized that I had all I wanted in life, a happy home, a peaceful kingdom, strength, power, and wealth, I should have been contented... but I wanted immortality, now I realize, even if I got the power of the scroll, it is of no use to me, what is the point of been alive when all my loved ones are going to die at some point in time, I used to think that immortality was a blessing but now I realize that it's a curse, like a restraint order from entering the other realm... No, I have to right my wrong, I need to put an end to this" o uttered and stood up

"Gatekeeper, grant us entrance to Earth" I asked

"You know what is required, take the door on the right" he instructed

I looked at Baron and gave him a go-ahead signal. He walked to the left door, brought out a little knife and cut open his skin, he dropped some blood on the floor and there was a great rumble

The gatekeeper uttered some incantation and the door opened

"You may proceed, son of the sun god, watch your back, danger looms around you" he warned.

"Thank you, Ancient one"I smiled and walked out with Baron, then the door shut

I walked out to the daylight, the Earth's sun was bright and hot as well, I felt a new strength energize me, I regained my powers as I felt a swirling feeling in me

"We need to find the girls" I said to Baron who was resting on a Rock

We were in what looked like a desert but it wasn't one because I heard the sound of water flowing beneath, that's when I realized that we were still standing on a water fountain, a mountain

I walked to it's peak and looked down, below was a valley, it was very far down, the view of the spring water gushing out from the opposite side of the rocks was amazing

"Earth is really a beautiful place" I muttered in admiration

As I was busy admiring the water fall, I heard footsteps behind me. I guess they belong to Baron. I turned around and immideately three arrows flew straight into my chest

I looked up and standing there was Billy, smiling with his now in his hand

"You ingrate! You betrayed me" I yelled and coughed out blood

I tried to move but fell on my knees, the pain of three elf arrows in the middle of my chest was something unbearable

He walked up to me and sat on a small rock in front of me

"You remember when I said that I won't kill you?... Well, I changed my mind, I realized that I was thinking small, I would love to be an immortal, few minutes ago you stated that immortality was a curse, but you were wrong, and your shameful death is a significance of that" he spat

"No boy... death is freedom" I said and smiled

"Well if that's what you think, goodbye old man, don't worry about your daughter, I am going to take good care of her" he mocked

" You are going to pay for this boy... believe me you will" I said and groaned

"Tell that to Hades when you get to the afterlife" he spat and kicked me hard on the face

I fell sideways to the dust, my sight was starting to blur, he kicked me again and I rolled off the mountain, it was a long fall down to the River, I remember hearing him laugh, then the voice of my ancestors calling, I heard the sound of the splash the water made when I fell in it and that was all, it was over!
