"Do you like it?" Xavier asked as he watched Kayla's reaction to the ring he had just given to her.

"It's stunning," Kayla replied.

"Here," Xavier said as he passed another ring to Kayla for her to put on his finger.

Kayla collected the ring, and slipped it on Xavier's finger.

"Everything is settled then," Xavier said.

"Do you live here?" He asked again.

"Yes, let's go in so you can meet my sister" Kayla offered without thinking.

" Okay, lead the way," Xavier said.

Kayla took Xavier to Jake's door as she knocked on the door.

Immediately, the door was opened, Jake was the one who opened the door.

Kayla cleared her throat as she introduced Xavier to Jake.

"Jake, this is Xavier Woods my husband, and Xavier this is Jake my best friend" Kayla introduced.

But Xavier was far in his thoughts by this time, he was wondering why Kayla was living with a man, and how long she had been staying with him, for the first time since he offered Kayla the marriage contract he was beginning to doubt himself.

He made a mental note to carry out investigations on Jake

"Nice to meet you and congratulations" Jake stated.

This drew Xavier's attention back to the young man standing at the door.

"Hello, Nice to meet you too," Xavier said in return as he rested his hand on Kayla's shoulder.

"Where is your sister?" Xavier asked, totally ignoring Jake.

"Come on, right inside" Kayla ushered Xavier in as she muttered a quiet sorry to Jake.

Xavier met with Daisy and they talked for a while as Kayla was gathering her things.

Daisy offered Xavier a meal but he refused politely, soon Kayla was done with packing and she headed out with Xavier after promising to see Daisy and Jake tomorrow at the hospital.

Heading downstairs, Xavier offered to carry Kayla's bag, as they got to the car

"Where are we heading to?" Kayla asked.

"Our home of course, do you want to stop by somewhere?" Xavier asked in return.

"Yes please, any fast food along the way," Kayla said as she reclined the front seat to rest her back.

These days she has been eating crazily yet she was still always hungry, but Kayla waved off this thought, as Xavier started driving.

Xavier drove Kayla to his penthouse where they would be staying for now until his parents returned from their vacation, He stopped by an eatery to buy food for Kayla, and by the time he arrived at the penthouse, Kayla was already fast asleep, she dozed off after eating.

Xavier packed his car at the garage as he woke Kayla up from her sleep.

Kayla opened her eyes as she looked at Xavier wondering how she got here…then she recalled everything and sighed.

She got out of the car and walked towards the back of the car trying to carry her bag, but Xavier beat her to it.

Xavier picked up Kayla's bag as he started walking towards the entrance of the penthouse, while Kayla followed behind him.

Xavier ushered Kayla into his penthouse,

Xavier's penthouse was beautiful and surprisingly huge, the interior design was exquisite as well.

Xavier allowed Kayla to take in the house while he took her bags to a different room, he wouldn't want to rush her into sharing a space with him.

Everything in this penthouse screamed Luxury, Kayla thought.

Seems like Grey was Xavier's favorite color because everything was covered in Grey even the Kitchen counter and Cabinets were also in Grey,

Kayla walked around the kitchen and opened the fridge, it was fully stocked and filled to the brim, Kayla grabbed an apple as Xavier walked into the kitchen.

"I placed your things in the bedroom, you may need more things…"

"What bedroom..you said you would give me some space," Kayla said frowning.

" Relax…there are up to four bedrooms in this house. I just placed your things in one closer to mine," Xavier explained.

" Oh…..you have a nice place though" Kayla complimented.

" Really…thank you then, don't you feel sleepy anymore?" Xavier asked as he poured himself a glass of water.

" I will get some sleep after I'm done with this apple" Kayla replied.

"Okay"

Kayla and Xavier remained in comfortable silence for a while, after Kayla was done with her apple she said goodnight to Xavier and went upstairs to her room after Xavier had given her directions.

Immediately Kayla got to her room and she crashed on the bed and slept off.

The next morning, Kayla woke up late to an empty house. Xavier had left a note for her on the kitchen counter, asking her to eat well and go shopping.

Immediately she picked up her phone to call Daisy, After two rings Daisy answered the call.

"Kayla?.. Are you alright? You didn't call me last night?" Daisy Complained.

"I'm sorry, I was very tired and slept off early but I will be at the hospital in the next hour" Kayla apologized.

"I will be waiting for you then" Daisy replied.

Kayla ended the call and decided to make breakfast. She made pancakes while watching a reality show, and once she was done with the first batch, she stacked everything on a plate and cleaned up the cooking space.

After Kayla was done eating she headed back to her room to shower and get ready so she could leave for the hospital, and Xavier called her.

"Yes.."

"Good morning my beautiful wife," Xavier said,

"Please for God's sake," Kayla said in return.

" I just called you to let you know that my driver is outside waiting for you, I know you would want to go to the hospital," Xavier said.

" That's kind of you, thank you" Kayla replied.

"Alright then have a nice day" Xavier then ended the call.

Kayla showered and got dressed in a flowery maxi gown, she applied a little makeup as she brushed her hair.

Kayla stared into the mirror as she reaffirmed herself, when she got to the entrance of the penthouse truly there a car waiting for her, Kayla then got inside.

"Good afternoon, how long have you been waiting?" Kayla asked the driver.

"Not too long ma'am" the Driver replied.

"Please take me to City Hospital," Kayla said and the Driver took off.
