Chapter Ninety-Four
***Scorpius***
Today we are going to go to the store in town for nesting and nursery supplies. I am ecstatic about this, especially because now Kautious is pregnant too. I’m glad he gets a second chance. Though I can tell, he’s nervous and very hesitant about everything. I need to talk to Faye, though, because I think she has an appointment before we need to go to the store. I wonder if she wants all of us to come with her or not. I find her in the kitchen. Walking behind her, I wrap my arms around her waist and kiss her neck gently, “Hi, love. Do you have a doctor’s appointment today?” She nods and smiles at me. “Do you want all of us to come with you?” I ask her softly. She turns to face me, wrapping her arms around my neck, her hands threading in my hair, as she kisses me softly. I grip her hips and pull her in closer, deepening the kiss. She giggles against my lips, “Of course, I want all of you there! These appointments are important! Soon, I’ll have the appointment to figure out if the pup is a boy or a girl, but today is just a checkup to be sure it’s healthy.” I nod and nuzzle into her neck, humming contently. She taps my shoulder gently, “Can you go make sure Hadrian and Kautious are ready?” I pull away and give her a smile before heading back upstairs to make sure my other 1 mates are awake. When I reach our room, I don’t see either of them until I hear retching from the bathroom, and I know Kautious is sick. I walk to the bathroom, leaning against the door frame as I watch Hadrian rub his back gently and hand him water. I make my way over to the sink and bring them a cold compress, to which Hadrian smiles at me gratefully. I also prepare Kautious’ toothbrush and mouthwash how he likes it.
Once Kautious is all cleaned up, we go back into the bedroom to pick out clothes. Hadrian picked out simple jeans with a dull yellow tshirt along with his black boots. Kautious decided to go with a cute overalls short set with a light minty green shirt under it and some white sneakers. I can’t help but smile at my adorable mate as I grab some jeans and a shirt, getting dressed for us to head downstairs. We get down there to see Faye has a small breakfast laid out on the table for all of us to eat. Kautious immediately grabs the fruit as we sit down and a few slices of toast. I notice Faye watching him intently, and I can’t help but wonder why. Until she speaks up, “Kautious, is that all you’re going to eat, baby?” He nods his head, “I’ll eat more later. I just threw up, Faye. I can’t eat much. You know how it is.” She nodded in understanding and went back to eating her own breakfast. When we are all done, we head off to the doctor. The appointment goes by quickly, and Faye’s pup is as healthy as can be. Growing quickly is what the doctor said. Faye got a few ultrasound pictures, and she wants to buy 2 scrapbooks to document her and Kautious’ journey during their pregnancies, which I think is very sweet. Now it’s time to head to the store and pick out nesting and nursery stuff!
Faye is basically bouncing on her feet as we head to the store. Her excitement fills the air and makes the rest of us smile. I know we never got the chance to take her for her nesting stuff because life happened, but I’m glad we get to take her and experience it with her now! We are also going to get some stuff for Kautious’ nesting room to redo it, though he doesn’t realize I’ve been slowly working on it for months now. I have the picture frames finally hung on the wall and the few other things Tristan and I got all set up in there. Today, he should only need blankets, bean bags, or other bedding things he wants, and other comfort things since I have a rug, the picture frames and got him a new recliner. I just hope he likes the way I have started redoing it so far. I know he hasn’t even looked at that room since his breakdown. It may have happened months ago, but I think he’s still ashamed of it. We walk into the store, and Faye and Kautious immediately go to the blankets section. Kautious had a fluffy gray blanket in his hand, while Faye has a nice silky red one in hers. They look at Hadrian and I with big doe eyes, and we immediately cave and tell them to get anything they want.
Faye has decided she is getting a red silk blanket, a black fluffy blanket, several throw pillows, and a huge memory foam rug for her room. Kautious has the gray fluffy blanket, as well as a nice emerald green one that’s just as fluffy. He also picked out several memory foam pillows. We are walking to the bedding section, where they can choose mattresses, bean bags, or anything their heart desires now. Kautious is walking down the aisle feeling all the different samples while Faye is looking at a thick mattress that has a soft side and a firm side. She looks at me and smiles, “Could I have this one, please?” I nod and go to find a store clerk to tell them that’s the one we want and to follow me so Kautious can choose his. When we return to the aisle, Kautious has chosen what looks like a king size dog bed. It is soft and comfortable, with a wide ring around the edge to prevent falling out. The clerk praises him on his choice and tells him it is great for cuddling as well as burrowing and hiding under blankets. Kautious blushes a bright red and steps closer to Hadrian while nodding at the clerk. The clerk writes down the item number for both beds and goes to set it beside the register for when we are ready to check out. We get a few more things while we are here and, finally, head to check out. Faye is shocked by the amount, but we reassure her that they deserve the world, and we really don’t mind spending this kind of money on either of them for the things they want and need. I have the shop deliver it to the pack house like I always do. Now we are off to the store for the nursery stuff. I can tell they are both extremely excited, though Kautious is still slightly hesitant. When we arrived, all of us were in awe at the new display they must have recently put up.
