Chapter Ninety-Three

I wake up from a dead sleep and sprint to the bathroom, kneeling in front of the toilet and throwing my guts up. Kautious is there quickly after, holding my hair back and placing a cold rag on my head as I puke. Once I’m done, I flush the toilet and sit on the floor, leaning against the wall. Pregnancy isn’t fun at all. I’m starting to show since I am a little over 3 months pregnant, and it’s cute that all of my mates want to touch it any chance they can. Kautious hands me a cup of water to rinse my mouth. After that, he helped me stand and walk to the sink so I could brush my teeth. When I’m done, he helps me back to the bedroom, helping me into bed beside Hadrian before tucking me in. He then makes his way towards the door, making me confused, but I don’t disturb him. When the door clicks shut behind Kautious, I feel Hadrian wrap his arms around my waist, gently cradling my stomach. I can’t help but smile at the gesture. Scorpius slowly opens the bedroom door, giving me a soft smile when he sees I’m awake before going to the bathroom to take a shower. It seems he went on his morning run just now, so it must still be fairly early. I take in the silence as time slowly passes, drifting back into a peaceful sleep before I feel myself being nudged awake. I pry my eyes open to see Kautious shaking me awake. When he catches my eye, he smiles, “I made breakfast. Would you like to come down and eat?” I nod, and he helps me out of Hadrian’s arms and off the bed.
We walk downstairs, Kautious humming softly next to me. It doesn’t take us long to reach the kitchen. On the table is breakfast. Kautious made eggs, bacon, toast, oatmeal, and fresh fruit. He has different jellies and sauces, as well as orange juice and water. I can’t help but smile at how well our little mate treats us. We truly are lucky to have him in our lives. He helps me get settled at the table before running back up the stairs to tell Hadrian and Scorpius that breakfast is finished. In a few short minutes, we are all situated at the table, plates loaded and small talk all around, when Kautious suddenly sets his fork down, hands crossed on top of the table, waiting for our attention. We all stop eating and look at him. Scorpius speaks first, “What’s wrong? Are you okay?” He nods, face having a blank expression, but his eyes look numb, “I have something to tell all of you.” I smile softly at him and reach across the table, giving his hand a gentle squeeze, “You can tell us anything, love. We are always here for you.”
He takes a deep breath and nods, “Obviously, we know Faye is pregnant, and we are all very excited.” I nod, unsure of where he is going with this. Hadrian and Scorpius also look confused as hell. I see Kautious’ eyes watering as a single tear slides down his cheek. Scorpius reaches across the table to wipe it, “Sweetheart, you’re scaring us. What’s got you so upset?” Kautious slowly reaches for 3 rectangular boxes that he had on a chair near him. He slides one to each of us as we look at each other. Hadrian looks at the box before speaking softly, “Can we open them?” Kautious nods as another tear slides down his cheek. We all open the boxes at the same time, and a collective gasp fills the room. In the rectangular box is a pregnancy test. A positive one. With a little note inside the lid that says “I hope I’m welcome to the party too!” All of us look at Kautious with shocked faces, but his head is down. I feel tears sliding down my face as I speak with a shaky voice, “Kautious, are you…”
He nods his head slowly before whispering, “I’m sorry.” I quickly stand up from my chair and make my way around the table before anyone else can say anything. I envelop him in a tight hug and let a sob leave my lips, and that makes Kautious cry, too, as he wraps his arms around me. The alphas join the hug soon after and we stay huddled together as Kautious and I cry. When I finally calm down some, I pull away, cupping his face in my hands, “I am so honored to share this experience with you. I know losing our first pup was hard. It was a nightmare for both of us. You lost a life, and all I could do was sit and watch as they took such a wonderful gift from us. But look! Now, the moon goddess has blessed us for making it through the hardships, and I get to share a pregnancy with you! I’m so excited!” Kautious blinks big doe-like eyes at me, “So you aren’t mad I’m pregnant at the same time?” I shake my head quickly, “Hell no! I’m so excited! You deserve this experience more than anyone!” Hadrian leans down and gives Kautious a quick peck on the lips, “I am so happy you get to have this experience again, and this time, we will be careful and make sure things go right, okay?” Kautious nods, and Scorpius turns him around, wrapping his arms around him and pulling him in for a deep kiss. I can’t help but smile at my mates, excitement running through my blood at the journey to come!
When Scorpius lets Kautious go, we all sit at the table and resume our breakfast. Hadrian sips his orange juice and sets it down before speaking, “So, how far along are you, Kautious?” He blushes a bright red and looks down at the table, “The doctor says around 6 weeks. Which means it had to have been one of those wild nights where my ‘powers’ enhanced everything and put us in a rut and heat-like state where our wolves took control. I’m not showing yet, but we all know that isn’t unusual. He said it was honestly a miracle because, after the first incident, my womb should have been completely destroyed, never able to carry kids again. Yet here I am, with a womb that is almost brand new. I’m starting to think that when the moon goddess said she had a reward for me, that she meant this. She knows my biggest wish is a family and to bear pups. I think she gave me back the ability to do that.” I can’t help but squeal, “Guys, I’m just super excited about all of this! Oh! We can do the 2 nurseries right next to each other. What do you say, Kautious?” He gives me a shy smile and nods. I do a little dance in my seat, “Okay! We can go look for nesting and nursery stuff tomorrow! Who’s coming?” Everyone happily agrees. The rest of the day is uneventful, though you can feel the excitement buzzing in the air.
