Chapter 135 The Witch’s Coven

Chapter 135 The Witch’s Coven
Ivalio's POV

We spent the night under a tree.

The next morning, we got up and cooked some food for ourselves and then sat on a tree trunk to discuss.

"Ivalio," Roffe said. "So, what's the plan?"

"Straight," I said. "We're going to the Rare Oak Forest. I've heard it's home to some covens. We should find our answers there."

"Okay," Roffe said. "Then let's head out."

Upon arriving at the border of Rare Oak Forest, we stopped for a brief moment before we ventured onwards.

After what seemed like hours, Roffe spoke.

"Ivalio, are we going around in circles?"

"What?" I said. "What makes you say that?"

"Look," he said. "I'm a hundred percent sure, I've seen this rock before when we passed by."

"No," I said. "That's not possible. I'm sure I'm taking a different path."

"Okay," Roffe said. "I'll mark it then."

And, we went onwards.

"Look!" Roffe said, pointing to the rock. "That's the mark I made. Ivalio, we're roaming in circles."

On seeing the mark, even I had to agree we were walking around in circles.

I sighed in disbelief.

"I can't believe it." I said. "Look, the front seems to be different, but the back is familiar."

"Ivalio," Roffe said in a hesitant voice. "You said this forest is called 'rare', why?"

"Obvious," I said. "The oak woods found here are the only ones in the world."

"You sure," Roffe said. "That's the reason. I think it's cursed. Whoever enters can't leave. The one who does, is rare."

"What?!" Roffe said, shocked.

"Okay," I said. "Relax. I just made that up. Let's go."

Finally, we stopped in front of a fence that spread around two cottages, that looked warm and lively.

Roffe stepped forward but fell on his back as he got thrown back on touching the fence.

"Roffe!!" I said running over towards him.

Inside the Vigil Cottage

Everyone was busy chatting and eating when Dalia suddenly stopped.

"Dalia, what's the matter?" Carlos said worried.

"I..feel like there's someone outside." Dalia said.

"Outside?" Ophellia said, surprised. "I don't feel anyone."

"Carlos, Drake," Kayne said. "Boys, go and check."

Inside the Crystal Moon Coven Ground

"Who are you?" Kayne said as he saw me and Roffe standing.

"My name is Ivalio. I'm from Devil Claw." I said. "And, he's Roffe. From Demonbite. We came to meet you."

"Devil Claw? Demon Bite?" Kayne said. "Who or what are you?"

"We're wolves, and we need your help." I said in a low respectful voice.

"Wolves?" Drake said scoffing.

"There are no females around, are there?" Roffe said, looking around.

"Inside the home," Drake said in a sarcastic voice. "Why do you ask?"

"Make sure they stay indoors."

As Roffe said, Condall stepped forward. Then both merged and Roffe transformed into a wolf.

When he transformed back, he was bare chest, so he removed a shirt and wore it.

"Basically, we and our wolves are two beings," I said, explaining. "But when needed, we can unite."

"Holy Grail of God, I've never seen anything like you." Drake said shocked.

"What help do you want?" Kayne asked.

"We're looking for a witch." I said. "He or she had an apprentice named Pilan."

Kayne waved his hand.

The fence disappeared.

"Come on in."

As we entered, we met more curious eyes.

"Everyone, Ivalio and Roffe." Kayne said. "They're wolves. (He raised his hand) Explanation later on."

As he gestured to us to take seats Drake pulled out for us, another older man got up nodding.

"Hello, you've met Kayne Whitemore. He's the head of our Crystal Moon Coven. Sister Grace is his wife. Carlos is his son. Ophelia is his daughter and Serphina is Carlos's wife, and his daughter-in-law. My name is Dylan vigil. My wife Lux Vigil. My son Drake Vigil, daughter Dalia Vigil and daughter-in-law Zenith. This is the Vigil cottage, the side one is the Whitemore cottage."

"It's a pleasure to meet everyone." I said as Roffe nodded.

"So, these pack names you took, or rather where are you from? Forest? Woods?." Kayne asked.

"Our packs are part of the Ashstone Forest fam--"

"Ashstone Forest?" Kayne said shocked. "Do you mean the family Prince Gabriel formed?"

"Yes," I said. "With his blood brother Enigma Alpha Dustin of Shadow Walkers."

"Well," Kayne said. "Since you're acquainted with the rare blood, we will help all that we can. So, who or what is it that you're looking for?"

"Well," I said. "A Lycan, her name is Pilan. Is after herbs that can make you immortal. The herbs are or were with Roffe's Demonbite's Alpha's Luna Julia, but they were stolen. But main point is, Pilan wanted to take them from Lady Julia. Pilan is a Lycan, and was an apprentice of a witch, who kicked her out because a spell went wrong. We want to know who that witch is so we can know more about the Golden Conjunction and also know how much Pilan learnt from her or him."

"Well," Dylan said. "If these are the reasons, then you don't need to find him or her."

Seeing our confused looks, Lux smiled.

"Boys," Lux said. "First, what she learnt. We witches are of two types. Hereditary and apprentice's. Hereditary, is us. (she flicks her fingers, and on both sides of the wall a tree appears with pictures) This side is the Whitemore family, and this side is the Vigil family. As you can see, our families date back more than a hundred years. Our daughter-in-laws also belong to hereditary families. Our magic, be it ten spells or a thousand spells, goes from parent to child."

"The only difference is," Kayne spoke. "The strength."

Carlos swirled his hand and the water in his glass began to vibrate. Then Drake did the same, but this time, a wave rose in the pond in the garden.

"See," Kayne said. "It's the difference in their water element. Drake has more control than Carlos. Likewise, Carlos is better with winds, and can storm up a cyclone at will, while Ophelia can barely make the curtain sway."

"As for the apprentice type," Grace said. "That depends on the master. Of course, no master will ever teach all that he or she knows. Let's assume Pilan's master knew a hundred spells, he or she will teach only twenty or thirty at most."

"Is Pilan causing havoc?" Zenith asked in a confused voice.

"Well, she tried to manipulate our Lady Luna and get the immortal herbs," Roffe said. "So she can become immortal for some Golden Conjunction."

Everyone looked with shocked eyes at us.
