Chapter 134 Search For Pilan’s Master

Chapter 134 Search For Pilan’s Master
Ivalio's POV
"Ivalio," Roffee said. "We did come out to find the witch who kicked Pilan out, but where do we begin?"
"Roffe," I said. "Thouhg I don't know much, but I do know they live in coven's the way we live in packs."
"Coven's?" Roffe said, surprised.
"Yes," I said. "Coven's are usually two or more families living together. And most of the witches are hereditary."
"And, you said, 'you don't know much." Roffe scoffed.
"That's as much as I know." I said in a sarcastic voice.
"Okay, now," Roffe said. "Where do we find this coven?"
"Desolate Woods Necropolis" I said.
As we arrived at the border of the Desolate Woods Necropolis, we stopped and looked around.
"Okay," I said. "As far as I know, the Crystal Moon Circle should be up ahead."
We began to walk into the woods, and soon stopped in front of a house. From the looks, it was evidently abandoned.
"Ivalio," Roffe said. "Don't tell me this is your coven."
"No," I said. "A coven is usually protected by a fence. Be careful."
We walked over and went closer to the abandoned cottage.
I opened the door and stepped inside with Roffe behind me.
"Lycan."
I flinched as I felt it too.
"Could this be the place where Pilan stayed?" Roffe said sniffing.
"Don't catch a cold." I said. "Okay, one thing is for sure. A lycan lived here, but the other smell is--definitely human."
"Human?!" Roffe said. "What would a human be doing with a Lycan?"
"Roffe," I said. "What kind of beings do you think witches are?"
"What beings?" Roffe said, surprised. "Obviously, witches are witches. The same way we wolves are wolves."
"Wrong," I said. "Witches are normal human beings, only have the ability to do magic or use spells."
"What??" Roffe said.
"Yes," I said. "So, the human we can smell here, should be the master who kicked her out."
"Odd." Roffe said.
"What's the matter?" I asked as I was looking around.
"The smell," Roffe said. "I have the ability to tell if it's male or female. Odd, I can't."
"Roffe," I said. "There are some witches who know how to hide their tracks. This one probably did too."
Just then we heard a startle outside, so we ran out.
"Ivalio!" Roffe called out.
I looked towards the direction he was pointing to.
"Let's check it out."
As we walked over, we covered our noses as the stench was too much for us.
"Blood." Roffe said.
"Yes," I agreed. "And human."
I looked around to see if I could see anything.
"Then," Roffe said. "Should I say, 'we have another treaty break."
"No," I said. The witch is a human, the one slain is a human. And, a human might have told the witch to do so. In the end, a human matter."
"Now what?" Roffe said.
"From the smell," I said. "I'd say this is fresh, but that cottage seems to be abandoned for a while now."
"Why don't we scan it?"
"Scan it?" I said, confused.
"Yes," Roffe recalled. "Oh, I'm sorry. It's an omega trait. We have the ability to scan a surface for a particular scent as we have to take care of the other pack members."
I smiled as he continued.
"It's okay," he said. "Just follow me."
I followed as he went about.
"Okay," he finally said. "Two humans, one dead, one left crossing that way."
He said pointing towards the border.
"Which one is dead?" I asked.
"The blood one."
"So, Pilan's possible master has left the woods." I said.
"Okay, let's check the cottage," I said. "Then we'll head over."
As we went back to the cottage, we both went about checking the cottage.
"Well," Roffe said. "Nothing here. Let's head out."
After walking for a while towards the direction Roffe pointed, I stopped.
"Pilan!"
"What?" Roffe said, surprised. "What do you mean by that?"
"Roffe?" I said surprised. "Can't you smell Pilan?"
"Yes, but she's not in person," he said. "And, the scent is over five-six months old."
Seeing my confused look, Roffe said. "Ivalio, I said it's an omega trait."
"Okay," I said. "Now what?"
"Well, we are in the right direction, aren't we?"
"Yes," I said. "but the more we're going ahead, the scent is fading."
"Ivalio," Roffe said. "What are we looking for? I mean, Pilan's master, or someone who can help us."
"Well," I said. "The master is who we need to find out how she became a witch and what she did that got her out, and of course the conjunction thing."
"Ivalio," Roffe said, short of breath. "Can we stop? I can't walk another step."
"Sorry," I said. "Do we share different metabolisms?"
"Of course we do," Roffe said. "We're Omega's. We are created to protect the pack, medicine, food, shelter. You, guardians, protect, border, fight."
"Well," I said. "That's that. Okay, let's rest for the night."
"Night?" Roffe said.
"Yes," I said. "Got a problem?"
"Problem?" Roffe said. "Of course. I've never spent the night out of the pack."
"Out of the pack?" I said. "Demonbite?"
"Yes," his enthusiasm faded. "I don't remember my birth pack. When I found out Julia was gathering omega's to form a pack, I joined them. Blake and Julia have been the family I've yearned for."
"What?" Roffe said, looking at me.
"Sorry," I said. "I always thought omega's were strong and didn't fall for emotions."
"Yes," Roffe said. "As caretakers, we need to be strong hearted as elderly and children love to do what they think is right, even though it could and can be wrong."
As I cooked some of the food we had, Roffe sighed.
"What's the matter?"
"Ivalio?" he said. "Are we going back empty-handed?"
"Roffe," I said. "Before at Devil Claw, life was different. Most of the time, it was Alpha Claude wanting to wake Senior Alpha. Later on, he settled with Luna Jennifer. But ever since we came over at Ashstone Forest, it's been different. We all want to help, protect this family. Now, Pilan looks like a looming shadow wanting to disrupt that peace."
"Yes," Roffe said. "Luna Julia has barely seen a little true happiness, and Pilan is destroying that and using her mother as bait."
"Roffe," I said. "We are not going back without knowing who Pilan's master is and what she's up to. That's a fact."
