Chapter 30

Chapter 30
“Grandpa, forgive me for hurting you and separating me from Lilian, but I've learned from my mistake, and I want to fix things!” Ethan didn't give his grandfather a chance to respond, and approached him and gestured for him to come inside. “Let's talk about Lilian inside, because it's cold out here, and it's not good for your health.”

Miguel nodded his head when he heard Ethan's words.

“Mr. Legrand, your grandson is right, it's better to talk about this inside!” Miguel said worriedly, and beside him, Ethan gave Miguel a thumbs up as he followed his grandfather inside.

Ethan and his grandfather sat facing each other without saying a word, but Ethan was entertained by watching the frozen landscape outside.

“If you came here just to enjoy the scenery, you can leave!” Nelson's words snapped Ethan out of his thoughts, and he turned to his grandfather and smiled.

Nelson doubted that Ethan was telling the truth, since no one had been able to track Lilian's location after she fled the country.

And when Nelson asked his best friend, Carlos Arbex, he also confirmed that Lilian had indeed left the country and, until then, she had never contacted him either, which made him stressed.
If only he knew Lilian's whereabouts, he would fly there and ask her to return to the Legrand family and become the matriarch of the family.
“I'm not lying to you, Grandpa. Lilian is back in Brazil, and the first place she came was here!” Ethan explained.

And Nelson narrowed his eyes at Ethan, who laughed a lot at his grandfather, who refused to believe him.

“Grandpa, if you don't believe me, you can call Carlos, because if I'm not mistaken, Lilian is on her way to see you right now!” Ethan said.

He found out that Lilian's car had gone to Unimeds Hospital after asking Harry to follow them using public security camera footage from the streets.

Instantly, a smile appeared on Nelson's face, because that was what he needed to hear. He immediately grabbed his cell phone to call Carlos, but just before dialing Carlos's number, his fingers stopped when he heard Ethan's words.

“Why are you holding my phone?”

“Grandpa, it's better not to contact him right now, because if Lilian finds out that you know she's at the hospital, she might run away again, and who knows where she would go next?” Ethan explained thoughtfully.

“You're right!” Nelson immediately put his cell phone on the table.

He would wait until noon to contact Carlos; he needed to talk to Lilian.

“Grandpa, why don't you come back with me to the capital?” Ethan was worried that his grandfather lived alone with Miguel in that remote place.

What worried him was that his mansion was on a farm, far from the city, even from the center of Araraquara, and if something happened to him, it would take some time to get there, but if his grandfather still refused, he planned to build a helipad here for quick access.

“I won't come back until you bring Lilian back to our family!” Nelson replied in his clear, deep voice, enough to make Ethan's face harden. “That's my final decision!”

Ethan took a deep breath, anxious once again.
He had heard those words from his grandfather countless times, and after six years, nothing had changed. He still demanded that Lilian return to the family. But how was that possible?

Unfortunately, although he was eager to win her back, she now had another partner, Daniel Spector. The formidable Daniel Spector.

If the man she was with wasn't Daniel, he would feel confident in his ability to win her back, but with Daniel in the picture, it would be impossible to win her back unless the little boy was his son, because his only option to win Lilian back was through the child.
Ethan couldn't wait to find out the results of the child's DNA, but before they could do the test, they needed a sample, and he had already asked Julian and Harry to take care of that.

But now, he had to deal with his grandfather first, so he fixed his gaze on him.

“Grandpa, even though I want her back in our family, it's impossible now, because she's already with another man.”

Nelson looked a little disappointed, because he knew it would be selfish of him to wish that Lilian wouldn't marry another man and return to the family. However, before he died, he wanted to see Lilian carrying his surname again.

“Has she already married that man?”

“No, not yet!” Ethan replied firmly.

He was sure that Lilian would never marry Daniel.

“Ethan, where is your confidence?” A smile appeared on Nelson's face. “Why are you afraid to compete with her boyfriend?”

Ethan was speechless when he heard his grandfather's brazen words. How could he ruin Daniel and Lilian's relationship?

“Lilian has always loved you, but you were blind enough not to see it.” When Nelson saw that Ethan didn't say anything, he continued. “You even divorced her because your parents told you to. Are you a child to be controlled by them?”

Ethan tried to speak, but his grandfather interrupted him, leaving him speechless. He could only hear his grandfather's words, which felt like arrows piercing his chest. It hurt because what he said at that moment was all true.

“And also, why were you in such a hurry to get her pregnant? She was still young, there was no need to rush.” Nelson narrowed his eyes at him. “If you apologize and sincerely try to win her back, she'll come back. Believe me, she'll fall in love with you again, so don't worry or be intimidated by her current boyfriend.”
“Oh, please, Grandpa. If only you knew who her boyfriend is... You'd be shocked.” Ethan sighed and spoke, thinking about it.

“No family can match our reputation, except the Spector family, if you compete with them,” he said as he thought. “You're going to have problems if Lilian's boyfriend is Daniel.”

Ethan received another push from his grandfather and took a deep, silent breath.
