Chapter 19 — CHRISTIANA'S POV

After he left the room, I crumbled to the floor. I hurt him. I was always irrational and selfish. I care more about my feelings than his. How could I have said that?

But he hurt me too. How could he tell me to go and date Steven? Are we breaking up? I asked myself as I thought of my childish behavior just now.

I cried as I lied on the floor, recalling events of what had happened and how I had made an issue out of nothing. Andrew was different, he wasn't possessive, but why do I always want him to be when it's something most women hate.

I had been crying for the past hour and he hadn't returned. Did he go to meet Vanessa? My chest tightened as I thought of that, fear tore my heart.

Was he really going to leave me because I said Steven was more handsome even when I know that was a big lie?

I promised to change but I keep making the same mistakes. He must have gone to meet her, he must have! The thought of that made me cry more. I weakly stand and make my way to the king-sized bed.

After some time, the other side of the bed dipped, signaling someone was on top of the bed. From the strong cologne, I knew who it was.

Andrew hugged me from behind, pulling me closer. I closed my eyes but quickly pushed him off. Was he done with Vanessa, was that why he was back? I didn't know why I was thinking foolishly but I couldn't help it knowing well I was being delusional but my last encounter with Emerald put fear in me.

He wrapped his arms around me once again, but I repeated my action.

"Are you done with your Nessa?" I muttered.

"Why do you always have so little faith in me?" His response broke me. I gently turned to face him, staring into his eyes. They looked dark.

"You won't break up with me, right?" I whispered.

"Why do you think I would break up with you?" he questioned.

If only he knew why I always asked that. While he was in Barcelona, Emerald came up to me. I was busy listening to music in our bedroom when she came in with a proud grin on her face. I stared at her with confusion, gently getting up from the bed and sitting on it.

"Enjoy the luxury while it lasts, dear." She smirked.

I wondered what she meant. Was she really going to kill me now? I asked within myself.

"Andrew will never marry you and if you make even the tiniest mistake, he will leave you," she spat, giving me a triumphant smile. What does she mean by that? I asked within myself.

"Andrew doesn't know it yet, but he and Vanessa are meant to be. They were meant to marry each other since birth, and I'm not sure if he has told you this, but Vanessa is family." She continued, "All your little arguments will be used against you and he will chase you away. Be ready for the future and prepare to be hurt."

She victoriously left the room.

I began processing her words and tried convincing myself that she was lying but at the same time, why would she? And Andrew's family seems to love Vanessa. She's also in the family business too.

But Andrew was my life. Breaking up with him would be worse than death. I won't let him leave. Call me obsessed, but I wasn't going to share. I would fight for him.

I smiled, shaking my head and deciding to tell him nothing. "I love you and I'm scared you might leave me someday," I whispered.

"The day I leave you, baby, is the day I give you permission to kill me. My life is in your hands." I gasp at his words. Was he serious?

I looked deep into his eyes for assurance and saw it all; his love for me was what I needed most.

A week had passed since Andy and I had an argument. Our love grew stronger, his mother hasn't been causing any trouble, but she glared at me whenever our eyes met.

I toured around New York with Andy, mesmerized with the beauty of the city. Just like he had promised, it was just about us.

I planned on going to Andy's office for the first time, he knew I was coming and had given me directions.

I wore a black Cami singlet with a blue jean jacket to match with my blue flared jeans. I retouched my makeup, making sure I looked stunning. I looked at the mirror once more. I have to look good.

"Wow," I muttered, seeing the skyscraper. At the top, 'Power International Limited' was written in block letters and different colors. I stared at it in awe before collecting myself and continuing in.

If the exterior was good, the interior was better. I marvel as I walk on the tiled floor, my wedges clicking. I looked around as I walked staring at the interior design and the busy workers.

I finally got to the receptionist and asked for Andrew's office. "Does he know who you are?" she replied sarcastically, typing something on her computer.

I wanted to snap back but swallowed the lump in my throat. I was about to speak up when Vanessa walked into the reception.

"Ms. Vanessa, welcome," the receptionist greeted with a smile on her face. "Sir Andrew is in his office."

Vanessa turned her attention to me smiling like she had won a lottery. "Christiana, right? Andrew's side chick?"

Vanessa's POV

Emerald invited me to her house so she could discuss with me her plans. She assured me Christiana would be out of our lives soon and forever.

I took the mug from the tray which the maid brought for me. As soon as she left, I took a sip of the tea from the mug.

Emerald smiled, "My beautiful daughter in-law," she said, and I couldn't help but blush.

"That bitch is a gold digger. I've given her offers but it seems she wants bigger deals. Knowing well Andrew is about to inherit a lot more, she has decided to stick by and so I threatened her, but she thinks I'm only kidding."

"She smells. I hate that bitch! She's a hypocrite! I will kill her." I spat out. The fact that she wasn't going to leave now that we were being nice with her annoyed me.

"I've prepared some gun men. I will take her away one way or the other. I wonder what Andrew sees in that bitch!" Emerald spat out.

"She must be a good fuck because the poor ones go to extreme measures to please a rich man in bed. I mean take a look at her skin, Andrew’s money is really working on her or else she wouldn't be as thick as she is."

"I really want Andrew and we must do everything we can to get rid of her,” I said to Emerald.

Emerald smiled, "Worry not my dearest Nessa. A skank like her can never be welcomed in our society. An unworthy bitch like her would never be welcomed in our society. I am starting to regret letting Andrew live. In Switzerland or else he wouldn't have come across such gold digger."

"But do not worry my dearest Nessa, everything will go smoothly. You are the right one for Andrew, she is just a bitch so see her as a side chick. Let Andrew believe he will marry her because the next thing he would be seeing is her corpse and a letter from her telling him to be happy and get married," Emerald said with assurance as a smile formed on her face.

I trusted Emerald; she wasn't a woman of little action. She was a woman of her words and she stayed true to her words.

Soon that bitch would be out of our lives and I will be the legal wife to the soon to be owner of Power international limited. I smirked as I thought of that before taking a sip of tea.
