Chapter 55 "Brian, You're finally back."

Coincidentally, at that moment, his assistant walked up behind him to speak with him. He happened to turn his head in Harper's direction.

At that moment, Harper saw his face clearly and felt incredibly surprised. Everything around seemed to become silent and faded.

In Harper's eyes, there was only the man she had been searching for for so many years.

"Brian."

She struggled to speak but found her voice trembling with nervousness.

Harper cleared her throat, suppressed the urge to cry, and shouted with all her might, "Brian Taylor!"

At that moment, the music in the venue happened to pause for a second. Everyone heard her voice. People turned to look at her.

Brian's whole body trembled slightly. He thought he misheard and slowly turned back in disbelief. Across from him, a delicate and lovely woman was staring at him intently, her big eyes filled with mist.

Their eyes met, and no one spoke.

They found each other. Everyone else seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of them in their world, with the sound of their heartbeats ringing clear.

Brian couldn't describe what he was feeling at that moment. The girl he had searched for and longed for so many years was right in front of him, looking shocked and aggrieved.

It seemed like an accusation, yet also like a plea. It made him soften just by looking at him that way.

Harper blinked, staring at him almost in a daze. He seemed unchanged. Though he appeared more mature, he was still the person who had provided her with endless warmth in her memories.

Harper suddenly remembered the last conversation they had many years ago before he left.

"Harper. If I ever leave, will you wait for me?"

"It depends on where you're going, how long you'll be gone, and if you'll come back."

"Of course. I'll come back. Where else would I go if Harper is here?"

Harper snorted, "If you don't come back, I'll probably forget about you soon enough..."

For many years after that, Harper resented him. She resented his broken promises, his cold-heartedness in leaving and not returning for so many years.

But now, he was standing in front of her again, though they met in such an unexpected way. But the fact that he had returned was all that mattered.

After the silence, others began to whisper. The situation before them was puzzling yet somehow clear.

As Harper gradually calmed down, she ignored everything else and ran directly into his arms.

What if he disappeared if she waited any longer?

As she touched him, she realized that the man in front of her was indeed real.

"Brian, you're finally back."

Listening to the muffled voice in his arms, Brian raised his hand to touch her head and sighed helplessly and indulgently.

A hint of redness appeared in his eyes.

"Harper, Be good. I'm here. I won't leave again."

Harper, hearing the familiar voice, couldn't hold back the surge of tears. She felt both bitter and joyful in her heart, holding onto him tightly, and not wanting to let him go.

Henry and Mia exchanged a glance. Their expressions were complex, completely unaware of the situation.

Harper had a brother?

Olivia also walked over in time, standing next to Joseph.

She hadn't expected that Harper was related to the CEO of T-Shine.

Were they siblings?

Or something else?

Did Joseph know?

Thinking about this, she looked at Joseph. His face was extremely livid, his pitch-black eyes fixed on the two people embracing each other.

He seemed in a bad mood but managed to suppress it. However, his hand by his side had clenched tightly, veins bulging, as if he had reached his limit.

Joseph stared at them in front of him, feeling not just anger but also irony.

His wife was embracing another man as if they were long-lost lovers, which was extremely uncomfortable.

If he had known, he wouldn't have brought Harper here.

He never imagined that the man Harper had been waiting for would be Brian.

He had returned.

Mia took two steps towards him and asked softly, "Joseph, what's going on?"

Joseph didn't speak. He was afraid that if he did, all his emotions would be difficult to hide. His handsome face was now clouded with hardness.

He tried to step forward but Olivia grabbed his arm, which helped him regain some composure.

"Joseph, is Harper Mr. Lewis's sister? But they don't have the same last name."

Upon hearing this, people around them began to whisper.

"What's going on? I've never heard that Mr. Lewis has a sister."

"It might not necessarily be a sister. Maybe they're a couple?"

"It couldn't be."

Joseph clenched his jaw tighter at these voices.

Amid the whispers, Harper belatedly realized that so many people were watching them. She quickly retreated from Brian's embrace.

She sniffed and whispered, "With so many people watching, couldn't you have given me a heads up?"

Brian chuckled softly, wiped the tears from her face, and said gently, "Yes, my bad."

But he had missed her for too long and wanted to hold her a little longer.

Looking at Harper's red eyes, Brian raised his hand and gently brushed her nose. "Why are you still crying so much when you've grown up?"

Harper pouted and complained, "You left for so long. You only decided to come back now!"

After speaking, she glanced around, realizing that all eyes were on them. Suddenly, Harper felt a rush of embarrassment and lowered her head.

Oh my, so many people were watching them? She had been so excited that she forgot everyone else.
