Chapter 601 Annoyance

Chapter 601 Annoyance

Seeing the dark, oppressive aura surrounding Vincent, Paul quickly pulled out his phone and dialed Emily's number. However, he was met with the sound indicating he had been blocked.

Furious, Paul threw his phone onto the floor, his face full of frustration and regret. "She even blocked me! Vincent, do you think she really wants to cut ties with us completely?"

Vincent turned to look at Paul, who had tried to help but only made things worse. He couldn't bring himself to say anything harsh, so he just shook his head slightly, straightened his disheveled clothes, and silently left Paul's room.

Paul, feeling like a kid who had done something wrong, stared blankly at Harold and Albert standing like statues by the door. Suddenly, he walked over and kicked each of them hard, growling, "Shut up, don't say a word."

Harold glanced at the angry Paul, nudged Albert, and mouthed, "Did you say something?"

Albert slapped Harold on the back of the head and mouthed back, "Shut up!"

At the Watson Manor.

"Jett, even though I agreed to your proposal, you really don't need to come here every day like clockwork. You know our engagement is just a wish of our grandfathers. You don't have to be so thorough," Emily's voice was clear and calm, echoing in the courtyard.

Jett's flashy sports car was parked at the manor's entrance, like a beast ready to pounce.

Holding a large bouquet of vibrant roses and dressed in a flamboyant suit that was completely out of character for him, Jett leaned against the car door. Seeing Emily come out, he immediately flashed a bright smile and blew her an exaggerated kiss.

Emily raised an eyebrow, a hint of helplessness in her eyes, and looked Jett up and down, teasing, "Did Luca possess you?"

Jett laughed so hard he nearly doubled over. When he finally caught his breath, he said, "I knew Luca's idea wouldn't work. He insisted I try to be like him, saying it might win your heart."

Emily shook her head lightly, turned to Nick and Curtis standing by, and nodded to Jett, her tone firm yet gentle, "I have a business trip to Yaxport. You don't need to come with me. I'm leaving tonight and will be back tomorrow. You don't have to seize every moment to be with me; it makes me feel pressured."

A flicker of hurt crossed Jett's eyes, but he quickly recovered, shrugging and pretending to be casual, "It's okay, as long as you know how I feel. If you think I'm being too pushy, I can keep some distance."

Emily was puzzled by Jett's sudden hurt expression. He seemed like an overacting actor, making her feel amused.

Emily chuckled at Jett's poor acting, took a step forward with her luggage, and said, "If you have nothing else to do, go inside and keep my grandfather company. Have coffee, chat, play chess. I really have to go now. Oh, and make sure no strangers approach Watson Manor while you're here."

"Got it! Honey, I promise to complete the mission," Jett responded loudly, forcing a smile.

Emily shook her head, not looking back, just waving her hand behind her as she walked briskly to the waiting car.

Watching Emily's confident departure, Jett felt a mix of emotions. He suddenly thought he had been a fool years ago.

If Mabel hadn't been around him all the time back then, would he have noticed Emily's excellence sooner?

If he had appeared earlier, would pursuing Emily have been easier?

After all, in terms of family background, character, talent, and personality, Jett was confident he was better than Ethan.

Thinking of this, Jett pulled out his phone and opened a video app. He saw that the survival show Ethan participated in was nearing its end, and Ethan's heartfelt proposal on the show had caused a stir online.

However, Jett knew Emily's mind wasn't on this. Ethan's passionate confession was just wasted effort, all for nothing.

When Emily arrived at the airport, she was immediately surrounded by a swarm of reporters.

"Ms. Watson, your ex-husband proposed to you online. How do you feel about that?" A reporter eagerly asked, holding a microphone.

"Ms. Watson, do you really have no feelings for your ex-husband?" Another voice followed quickly.

"Ms. Watson, although your ex-husband confirmed Amy didn't interfere in your marriage, Amy tried to imitate you to get close to Mr. Grant. Do you have anything to say to Amy?" Yet another reporter asked sharply.

"Ms. Watson, is your high-profile engagement to Mr. Lawson an escape, or do you genuinely have feelings for him?"

"Ms. Watson, you and Mr. Grant have so many youthful memories, over ten years. Do you really not care about any of it?"

Faced with these relentless questions, Emily frowned slightly, a hint of displeasure in her eyes.

She glanced to the side, and Mason immediately understood, raising his hand to signal. Twenty security personnel in black uniforms quickly surrounded her, forming a solid wall that separated the reporters from Emily.

Seeing Emily's displeasure, Nick hurriedly pulled out his tablet, frantically scrolling through the news. As he read, his face grew increasingly grim.

Curtis noticed and frowned slightly, quickly stepping forward to take the tablet from Nick. He walked over to Emily, bowing apologetically, "Ms. Watson, I'm sorry, this was our oversight. Please board the plane; Nick will handle the rest."

Emily took a deep breath, not even wanting to ask why these entertainment reporters were here.

She was utterly fed up with all news related to Ethan, not wanting to explore, know, or be involved.

Especially since they mentioned Amy again, which stirred an indescribable irritation within her.
