Chapter 178 - Wanted by the Alpha Brothers

My life was completely different from what I knew it as. My days were spent with Ivy training with my powers and training how to fight. She was an awesome teacher and I'm glad that I got her instead of the warriors. She was tough on me but she wasn't insanely tough like the other instructors were on the trainees.

Noah and I weren't seeing too much of each other. He was going to school and then working after school but we still managed to have dinner together at night and we tried to watch a movie or something to have a bit of time together. Ivy told me that was important. To make sure that we spent as much time together as possible. I guess she knows that from experience.

I've heard all the stories of her being kidnapped and going missing and even Asher. They were horrific stories to me and I couldn't do that to Noah. I wanted to make sure that I spent as much time together with him as possible.

I knew that they were already making plans to attack Nick's hideout but they were waiting for me. They needed to make sure that I was completely ready before anything happened. Before we went anywhere. And it put a lot of pressure on me but Ivy told me not to worry about what I hear around the pack. She told me to just worry about myself. Not to let them bother me with what they are saying, because this is my life. It's my father, I'm the one with the power and I know my circumstances better than them. They don't know what's going on inside my head, I do.

She told me that's what she tells herself every day to get through being the Luna. They don't know what's going on inside her head and she puts her priorities in order. Her family always comes first. And the people in the pack that don't know that, then that's their problem. But most people have figured that out by now. She's a very hands-on mother. When she's not training me, I always see her outside the packhouse playing with her kids. She doesn't have any time to herself.

Her and Asher aren't seen together a whole lot but she told me that they have dinner together every night and they spend the nights together. Sometimes he gets called away but that's only when it's an emergency.

Ivy and I were sitting in the field again one day practicing and meditating. We needed me to be able to harness my power and as frustrating as it was getting I kept telling myself to calm down. I needed to keep calm and just let it happen.

I was sitting there with my eyes closed when I heard Ivy chuckle and I opened my eyes to see flames coming out of my fingertips. I couldn't believe it. I was shocked. There were five different flames coming out of my fingers and they moved with my hand and Ivy was sitting there smiling at me.

"I don't believe it. I actually did it." I said, shocked.

"I knew that you could." Ivy says.

"How do I make them go out?" I asked.

"You will help them too." She says. So I basically told the fire to go away and they did.

"Alright. Do it again." Ivy says.

I had more confidence this time and although it didn't happen straight away I managed to do it again only moments later.

We practiced that for the rest of the day until I didn't need to concentrate anymore. I just needed to make sure that I was able to bring the fire forward whenever I wanted to.

"Alright. That's enough for today. Tomorrow we'll go bigger." Ivy says.

"How?" I asked.

"We'll try and get you to turn your entire body into a torch." She says.

"Really?" I asked, a little scared.

"Relax. You got this. I know you do." She says reassuringly.

"Alright then. Thank you. Do you know when we're going after their nest?" I asked.

"That is completely up to you. When you've got a handle on your powers and you can fight a little better. I'm not sending you in there unprepared. You'll end up a prisoner or dead. I'm not going to let that happen." Ivy says.

"Thank you. For everything that you're doing." I say.

"Don't mention it. I'd do it for any part of my pack. And they know that." She says.

"I hear that some of them think that you neglect the pack." I say.

"Yeah. Some of them do. But when those same people call me needing something, I'm right there for them. They may say it out loud, but I don't know if they really mean it or not." She says.

"Why do you let them get away with disrespecting you?" I asked.

"Because I haven't heard them actually say it. And not too many people say it now. A couple people made the mistake of badmouthing me once not knowing that Asher was listening in. And I don't think they will ever do it again." I say.

"I'm afraid to ask." She says.

"And I'm afraid to tell you when he did. Which is why I'm not going to. Go home and get some rest. Tomorrow it's hand to hand combat. And then power training." Ivy says.

"Okay. I'll see you in the morning." I say. And we started walking in different directions.

But I turned around to see Ivy walking towards the packhouse and her kids came running up to her to greet her and Asher was holding the baby. And even he pushed the kids out of the way to hug Ivy and the kids pushed him back and the whole lot of them started playing around the yard. To me, they really did look like the perfect family. They looked so great together.
