Chapter 179 - Wanted by the Alpha Brothers

A MONTH LATER

It was the moment of truth. Everyone that was going on this mission met at the packhouse and we all went into a conference room where there was a map laid out on the table and there were photos of the house where Nick and his people were held up in.

"Are we sure that they're still there?" Nick asked.

"Yeah. We've had scouts watching the house the whole time. They're still there." Asher says.

"How do they not know that the scouts are watching them?" I asked.

"That's what the scouts are trained for. They know how to stay hidden from anything." Ivy explained.

"Alright. So, what time are we leaving?" I asked.

"We're leaving at 4am in the morning. We want to attack just after sunrise. The time will confuse them a little bit and that will also be to our advantage. And if it's going to be a long battle, we need as much advantage as possible. Now, a warning to all warriors. If you get hurt. Really hurt, you need to get the hell out of that house. Even if you are getting attacked by day walkers then you need to get outside because we are going to have a second line of defense of warriors outside the house. They will come to your aid. And the vampires won't be expecting them." Asher says. And he put a bunch of photos of the table.

"Who are they?" I asked, looking at the people.

"They are the day walkers that are living in the house. Luckily, there are less day walkers than just normal vampires." Asher says.

"I need to ask. Is this going to spark a war with the vampire community?" I asked.

"No. We've already spoken to the vampire council and Nick has been a pain in their ass for as long as they can remember. It was the same thing with the witches a couple years ago. They wanted us to take out that rogue witch that was attacking us because she was a problem. It's the same thing here. All vampires will be told to stand down after the attack. We won't be hunted because of it." Asher explained.

"Besides, Nick is the most feared vampire. Other vampires know that he's coming and they will leave their homes rather than be near him. Because they know that he likes to create armies." Ivy explained.

"How many vampires are in that house right now?" Noah asked.

"About 40. It's a big house. Which is why we're sending in 60 warriors straight into the house. So that we're at an advantage. But the house will then be surrounded by another 200 warriors. We aren't walking out of there without killing them all." Asher explained.

"Just watch each other's backs. You need to protect each other as much as yourselves." Ivy says.

"You're not coming?" I asked. And she shook her head.

"No. I can't. I'm staying here. With the kids. Asher and I have already discussed it. It's too dangerous for both of us to go. But I am trusting every man in this room to bring him back to me." I demand.

"You know that we will." Beau says. And she nods her head at him.

"Alright. Let's talk about tactics. Where everyone will enter the house." Asher says.

We needed to make sure that everyone knew where everyone else was going to be and when they were going to enter the house. We couldn't be left with any surprises and Asher was a really great planner. It was no surprise that they always won fights. Because of these meetings. They didn't go in blind. They did their homework and they planned everything out to the last detail.

Obviously not everything goes to plan during a war, but the initial part of the attack, he made sure was down pat. That everything was perfect.

Noah and I walked back to our house and I was really quiet the whole way back and he asked me if everything was alright.

"I'm just nervous. Tomorrow is going to be massive." I say.

"I know. But you're ready. Ivy wouldn't be sending you unless you were ready. Just remember that. She has complete faith that you can do this." Noah says.

"I don't want to let anyone down. And I feel like everything is up to me." I say.

"The first part is up to you. But that's it. You won't be alone. We'll be right there. And we will be close enough to hear everything. Asher wants you to leave the link open so that we can hear everything that is said in the house." Noah says.

"I know. And that's exactly what I am going to do. I promise." I say.

When we got home I wasn't hungry so I just had a shower and Noah and I went to bed. Although neither of us got much sleep that night. It was not the night to really sleep. And I didn't want to let go of Noah. I needed him close. No matter how close he was, I needed him closer. And I was scared to death that I was going to let everyone down. That I was going to do something wrong and they would all hate me. No matter how much they assured me that they wouldn't hate me. It was a lot to put on me.

We met up with everyone at the packhouse at 4am and that's where we shifted and I put some clothes in a bad and I carried that bag in my mouth and then we ran off into the woods. Asher was leading us and I looked back at Ivy who was standing on the stairs of the packhouse with Freya, Zara and Fiona. The look on Ivy's face was one that I could never forget. It was full of fear. I knew that she was terrified. She wasn't going with Asher. She always went with Asher. But this time she was staying behind. She told me that she hated feeling helpless. And I guess this is what she meant by that. Because she's not helping.

Right then and there I was determined that I wasn't going to mess this up. I was going to get this done and bring Asher back to Ivy. She needed him. I understand that now more than ever. She needed him as much as he needed her. As much as I needed Noah. I couldn't imagine being separated from him. So I wasn't going to let them stay apart for too long. I was going to bring him home. No matter what it took.
