Chapter Twenty one: You will always be mine sophie

“You would always be mine Sophie.” Tyler added almost immediately while still holding tightly to Sophie’s hand and being totally asleep.”

What could make him suddenly remember her so quickly?? Sophie thought in her mind while she tries to place him on her bed.

Sophie carefully maneuvered Tyler onto her bed, making sure he was comfortable before stepping away. She watched him for a moment, his face peaceful in sleep, and a pang of sadness filled her heart. Despite everything that had transpired, she couldn't deny the lingering feelings she had for him.

As she turned to leave, Tyler's voice called out to her, his words slurred but filled with genuine emotion.

"Sophie... I love you. Please don't leave me," he pleaded, his voice full of vulnerability.

Sophie paused, her hand on the doorknob, feeling torn between her own pain and the love she still held for Tyler. She couldn't deny the connection they shared, the memories they had created together. But she also couldn't ignore the betrayal and hurt he had caused.

Taking a deep breath, Sophie steadied herself and turned back towards Tyler. She walked back to his side, her voice filled with a mixture of sadness and determination.

"Tyler, I know you're drunk right now, and I can't trust your words in this state.”

Tyler's eyes flickered open, his gaze filled with a mixture of confusion and longing. He reached out for Sophie, his hand trembling.

"I'm so sorry, Sophie. I never meant to hurt you. Please, give me a chance to make it right," he pleaded.

Sophie felt her resolve weakening, seeing the pain in his eyes, but she knew she couldn't give in so easily. She gently withdrew her hand from his grasp and took a step back.

She couldn’t just let herself be easily swayed by his words in this situation he was asking for too much by recalling Sophie who was now dead to him and although Sophie had always wished for Tyler to love her just as much as she loved him back then she still wasn’t pleased that he still remembered her and she felt like being cheated on if he remembered her without remembering how tortured her.

After glancing at him for a long while she decided to leave the room and maybe sleep in the guest room as that would be much better.

After picking the perfect guest room for herself in the palace she decided to have a glass of water before going back to sleep when she saw the maids all seating together like they were having secret discussion between themselves and since she hadn’t really trusted them at first she decided to sneak behind them and eavesdropped on their conversation.

“What are we going to tell madam Catherine? It seems like Freya is smarter and might win the bet.” One of the maids said, making Sophie wonder what was going on.

“Why would you say that?” One of the maids from earlier questioned.

“Aren't we trying to orchestrate a plan to get her out of the way? Alpha Tyler still wants to be by her side all the time and Madam Catherine mustn’t find out about this.” The maid replied

“She wouldn’t find out about it and why are you so frightened about Freya she is just a mere maid like us.” The maids continued… making Sophie suspect if the plans to get the letters was even a real thing or if the letter was even real and not just a way to play tricks with her mind.

As Sophie listened to the maids' conversation, her heart raced with a mix of disbelief and anger. The realization that Catherine had been orchestrating the events to manipulate her emotions hit her hard. The supposed letters, the betrayal, and the pain she had gone through were all part of a scheme.

She couldn't believe that Catherine would go to such lengths to separate her from Tyler. It was clear that she wanted to win the bet at any cost. Sophie's mind raced with questions, wondering how deep Catherine's deception went and what her true intentions were.

And this was also another warning for Sophie not to trust anyone including herself in her mission, as she stumbled back to her room it all began to make so much sense to her as she began to realize that even during the time she tried to sneak into Catherine room it was weirdly too easy.

Just as she was about to sneak away she heard the name Sophie making her stop to listen closely on what they are about to say.

“ and don’t you notice the uncanny resemblance?” A maid said.

“Between who and who?” Another asked.

“Between Sophie and Freya, it’s like Sophie reborn again with her exact character tribute and when we talked about Sophie it felt like she would tear up any moment, she even had more determination to deal with anyone who killed Sophie.” The maid pointed out putting Sophie in a much more panick state as she closed her mouth in fright.

, Sophie's heart raced with a mix of fear and confusion. How could they have possibly figured out her true identity? She had taken great care to hide her past life and her resemblance to Sophie. But now, it seemed that her secret was no longer safe.

She rushed to the nearest mirror and stared at her reflection, her eyes widening in shock. It was true. She looked exactly like herself in her past life as Sophie. The same delicate features, the same shade of chestnut hair, and the same piercing blue eyes. It was as if she had been reborn.

As she continued to stare at her reflection, memories from her past life flooded back to her. The love she had felt for Tyler, the pain of their separation, and the betrayal she had experienced. It all came rushing back, overwhelming her senses.

Sophie's mind raced with questions. How had she been reborn looking the same? Why did she look exactly like her past self? And most importantly, how had the maids discovered her secret?
