Chapter 62: Engaged at Last
The day was then labeled a waste of time by Mark. He and Sandra, as well as his four bodyguards, walked to his car. When they arrived at his car, Diva emerged from her car, which was parked next to Mark’s. She approached Mark, but his guards stopped her.
Mark replied as she smiled at them, “Let her come. She needs to speak with me.” Sandra entered the car from the back, while Mark stayed outside. As a result, his guards allowed Diva to get closer to Mark. The two began to converse.
“Why did we waste our time to come and meet this idiot?” Mark felt embarrassed by the way Diva yelled because he knew there was security monitoring the building.
“We are being taken advantage of. Calm down, let us go, and we’ll discuss somewhere else.” Mark responded calmly, which reassured Diva.
“To my house?” Sandra paid close attention when Diva mentioned where she lived.
“Why do you suggest your house?” she said, still inside the car with the doors open. She then got out of the car and spoke to Diva directly.
“It was just a suggestion because the first deal we signed was in my house. You are welcome to join us if you are able and we are holding the meeting with you. As his wife, your opinion is also crucial.” Sandra understood Diva’s response, but she needed to get to her mother’s place straight away.
“Please feel free to host your business meeting as usual. I, on the other hand, am not a businessperson. As a result, I’d like the billionaire to drive me home.” She smiled and stroked Diva’s hair.
Diva answered back, “You are such a darling. Mark should be pleased with you. I apologize for how I handled you.” While the billionaire looked on, the two girls hugged in a show of peace. Sandra then got into the car and sat in the same spot she had been on before. Mark was left alone with Diva, his guard surrounding him.
“Perhaps we should arrange a meeting for the other day. I don’t know and don’t see any point in holding the meeting with brokers when I want you to accompany me to witness the shopping mall’s contraction, which had just begun.” Diva told Mark about her plans, and Mark remembered Diva’s proposition to him about visiting the location where the retail mall would be built. This was, however, a busy day for the billionaire.
“I’d like to accompany you to the construction site, but my day is jam-packed with commitments. I mean, I lost my chief bodyguard in a terrible accident. Six of my trusty bodyguards had been detained. I need to arrange for Donta to be buried with dignity even though he is buried already by the state.” Sandra pondered what was going on as Diva embraced him and felt Mark’s distress. But she didn’t get out of the car to find out.
she exclaimed instead, “It’s getting late. My mum is curious about my medical condition. Let us get going, businesspeople, with interminable discussions.” Mark grinned at Diva since he knew Sandra had seen them hug.
Diva said as she approached the door of the car, “I just feel sorry for my business partner. Please understand the difficulties he is experiencing.” She then smirked, and Sandra smirked back, nodding her head and folding her palms.
Diva apologized to Mark, “Sorry about that. Simply give the widow the money and leave the burial arrangements to her family. What you need to focus on is your marriage and your career. Don’t worry too much about the death of your guards, which you didn’t prevent.”
Mark said as he nodded his head and thanked Diva, “I am grateful for those words. I’ll accompany you to the construction site of the shopping center.”
“Thank you so much. Please take me home to my mother first, then proceed with your business.” Sandra interjected, yelling at Mark and Diva to pay attention. They laughed, and Diva walked to her car while waving to Sandra.
Sandra instructed the security driver as Mark entered the car, “drive on baby. We’re leaving immediately. Diva drove her car to where she lives, accompanied by her bodyguard.
Joel called his daughter on the way home to inquire about her whereabouts. Sandra, on the other hand, glanced at Mark and remarked, “Perhaps he needs you because he needed you after the meeting.”
“I have to put my business first. I was able to help the mourning in some way. That was probably enough.” Mark remarked, shaking his head.
“We’re focused on doing business, not killing other city residents. Simply meet the priest and return home to tell us how he blessed you.” Sandra called her father, Joel, who was already at the priest’s house discussing preparations to visit Donta’s grave to perform some rituals to honor the dead, Mark’s deceased ex-bodyguard.
“Yes, ma’am. Take care of your business. I was simply checking in on you. I can see you’re free and not sick. What do you have planned for Mark today?” Naan was offering him coffee as if it were her home, when Joel inquired. She was still in the priest’s house because he had told her to stay. Sandra handed Mark the phone so he could talk to her father.
“My plan now father is to go to another meeting in the construction site of the new shopping center.” Joel shook his head as Mark spoke, knowing that Mark would not be a part of the plan that the deceased’s family was working on.
“You are correct, my son. Your company should come first. We’ll visit your old chief guard’s grave to bless him. I am with the priest at this moment. But I’ll keep you updated on everything.” Joel responded and then hung up the phone. Sandra arrived home, and her billionaire car drove into her yard. Her sister converged with her by the gate and stood in front of the car, preventing the car from fully entering the garage.
“I appreciate your sister’s childishness. She is so amusing that she makes me think she is a baby.” Mark laughed as he looked at Sandra. Sandra was prepared to chastise her younger sister. She gazed at Mark with a pout and her hands folded. She then grinned as she noticed Mark didn’t mind her frown.
“You are so beautiful my lady.” He kissed her cheek and then brought out the ring that he had purchased for Sandra from Simma, Sandra’s friend’s jewelry business. This is the identical ring that caused Sandra to puke in his face while he was proposing to her.
He stated, “Some strange spirit stopped me when I tried to give you an engagement ring. I understand the objections, but I want to marry you.” Sandra was laughing as Mark placed the ring on her ring finger. Sandra took a peek when he was finished and noticed that the band fit perfectly on her ring finger. She got on top of him, sat on top of him, and kissed him. Because he didn’t want to look at his boss with his fiancée, the security driver looked at his phone. Sandra, Lear’s sister, was in the car when she heard a knock on the window screen.
Lear noticed her sister on top of the billionaire and shouted to her mother, “Mom! Sandra and Mark are having sex in my father’s yard in the car while the security driver is inside.” Sandra stopped kissing Mark and dashed out of the car, clutching her purse, to her sister.
“Let us rush and follow Diva to the construction site in the west side of Melon,” Mark said to his driver as he motioned him out of the yard. The motorist did, in fact, drive out of the yard and follow Diva. Lear noticed her sister chasing after her. She raced to her mother and met her at the door as she exited the house, only to find Sandra and Mark having sex in the car. This comes after Lear called her mother and accused her sister of having sex in the car with a billionaire. Lear dashed into the house, hiding behind her mother and Anne, as her mother stood up to the irate Sandra at the door.
she urged her mother, “This little daughter of yours is challenging me yet again. We were kissing but not having sex in the car.” Anne took her daughter’s left hand in hers and examined her ring finger. Sandra looked down as she grinned.
“Congratulations, my child. On this day, you have made me proud. This is the fantastic news you wanted to share with us. I’ve seen it with my own eyes.” Anne expressed her admiration for her daughter. Lear emerged from the house, where she had been hiding behind her mother. She moved her gaze from her sister’s hand to the ring on her finger. Sandra was after her, she had forgotten. She applauded her sister by clapping her hands, then folding them.
Sandra questioned, “What does that mean?” Her mother stepped in, but when Lear realized that her older sister was still upset with her, she ran back to hide behind her mother.
“She is overjoyed that her sister is marrying a billionaire. You’ve been acting like a cat and mouse in the movie, Tom and Jerry.” Anne responded with a smirk indicating she was holding Lear on her shoulder.
Then Lear continued, “I was her Jerry, and she was my Tom, chasing after me only to eat me. She is continually looking for me. I’m curious how her pregnancy is treating her.”
“I am not pregnant. Mom instructs your child not to focus her small mind on my love affair with Mark.” Sandra spoke while smacking her younger sister on the head with her purse, while Lear was hiding beneath her mother’s arms. Lear began to cry and ran to her room, leaving Sandra to inform her mother of the pregnancy test result at the private hospital.
“Mother, I am not pregnant. It’s nothing more than allergies. Please, mother, do not desire such a thing. You have no idea what Mark and I did last night. You’re not sure whether we had sex or not. Stop second-guessing yourself.” Sandra explained to her mum before entering the house.
her mother said when she finished speaking, “Calm down, my baby. We didn’t mean to offend you. We were merely making fun of you as a family member. We didn’t realize you weren’t a regular part of our lives until Mark adopted you. Please excuse us, my child.” Sandra came to a halt, followed by her mother.
She then raised her ring finger to show her mother the ring on her finger. She then stated, “I used to be your daughter, but today I am a wife.” She then turned to face her mother, as Lear stood outside her chamber, watching her mother converse with Sandra.
Sandra added to her mother, “However, that doesn’t mean I should be a stranger in this house. I mean, you’re my mother, and you always will be. I am your daughter and will remain so forever.” She turned her gaze to her younger sister, Lea.
She then said, “I am Lear’s sister, and I will always be her elder sister.” She then approached Lear, but she stepped inside her room and closed herself there.
“Shame on my sister. She is naughty, yet she is so easily threatened. She’s such a jerk. I get it.” Sandra remarked to her mother.
Then Anne yelled at Lear, calling her out of the room, “don’t you want to go out with your sister? Your aunt has summoned you to the salon. She has something unique in mind for you.”
Sandra then assured her sister that her aunt, Naomi, had met her and that, “she even gave me thousand dollars to give to you so that you can spend only at her salon.” Anne glanced at her daughter, surprised, and wondered how Naomi could give money to her daughter. Lear emerged from the place where she was after Sandra had spoken about the money. Sandra grabbed her purse, took out her iPhone, and transferred a thousand dollars from her account because Mark had given her two million dollars to spend on herself.
she stated after giving her sister the thousand dollars and seeing the money in her bank account, “This is yours to spend at the salon. You and my high school classmate, Simma, will be my bridesmaids.” Lear was overjoyed and even jumped up and down before hugging her sister. Her mother also embraced her daughters with a hug.
she said, “Let us go to your aunt’s salon. I don’t have a thousand dollars, but I’ll ask my husband.”
“Leave my father alone with his demanding job. I have the funds. I’ll give it to you. Let us now go and get ready to go to the salon.” Sandra promised her mother, and they showered in their bathroom. They immediately exited the house and boarded a private taxi to Naomi’s salon, dressed identically in red and white as though they were sisters.
