Chapter 61: Settling disputes concerning company shares
Joel contacted his daughter and inquired about her well-being as she entered the automobile alongside Mark.
she said, “I am fine, dad. I am not pregnant. My mother’s prophecy did come true. It was my allergies, not the pregnancy, that caused me to vomit. She needs to stop overthinking.”
“I’m glad you’re okay, my baby. What is your next step?” Joel responded while parking his car near the clergy apartment building. His aim was to visit with the priest and find out if he would assist Donta’s wife with her husband’s burial. Sandra put the phone on hold and turned to face Mark.
“What’s the next step from here? My father would like to know. To meet my new broker as we have spoken?” She inquired.
Sandra turned to her father as soon as the billionaire replied and she said, “We’re going to a business meeting, then we’ll go home. Where have you gone?”
“I’m near the priestly building. I’ve come to see the priest in order to arrange for the funeral ceremony of Mark’s chief guard. Tell Mark to accompany you home after the meeting is over.” Joel replied, but the phone line was cut owing to network troubles. Sandra and Mark sat in the back of the billionaire’s Rolls Royce. Mark then told his security guard to take him to the office of his new broker, Manis, where he would meet Diva. He began to wonder how Sandra would react when she saw Diva after all of the squabbles they had. His objective was to inform her of the meeting, which had to include Diva.
He took her hand in his and began massaging her palm till Sandra asked, “I know what you’re thinking baby boy. Just do whatever you want now that you’re free.”
“It’s not what you think or what you know. It’s something else that includes someone you might not like meeting.” Mark responded while continuing to massage Sandra in the rear of the Rolls Royce driven by his security driver.
“Diva? I know you have to meet her. I’d be thrilled to see her as well. I’ve won you over to me. This way, she only needed to do business with you or extort you like all the other players.” Sandra guessed correctly, as though she knew Mark was about to tell her about Diva. Diva called as soon as she finished speaking, and Mark stared at Sandra.
“Talk to her as if I am not present. I’m not here to rule over you. I am here to help you.” Sandra replied, and Mark kissed her cheek before answering the phone call from Diva.
“let’s hope you are ready to meet me at the office of our new broker, Manis.” As soon as Mark answered the phone, Diva spoke to him.
“I’m only five minutes away from her office. I’d be delighted if you were already there.” Mark responded, but Diva handed the phone to her broker, Manis, so that he could speak with Mark and inform him that they were together.
“As if we’d spent the night in here. It’s our business partner who keeps us awake.” Mark observed Manis on the phone and turned to Sandra, saying, “It’s Manis talking. He’s already at the office with Diva.” Sandra simply nodded.
As a result, Mark returned to the phone call and told Manis, “I will be right at the office in just a second. Let us hope the meeting is effective.”
“Let’s see what happens during and after the meeting. Does your wife accompany you, sir?” When Manis inquired about Mark’s wife, he hung up the phone. The car arrived at the office building and parked in the basement parking lot. Mark emerged with Sandra, leaving his security driver in the car. His bodyguards escorted him to the office. As soon as Mark began to embrace Manis, they waited outside the office. Diva just stood there staring at Mark, while Manis shook hands. Sandra also looked at them.
“I am honored that you have chosen me as your trusted broker. We’ll start with your previous one. For your privacy, I’d want us to excuse the ladies and go to the office next door.”
Sandra scowled and replied, “I can be detached from Mark. Everything he is involved in involves me. We got together for this meeting; I’ll keep it with him.”
“Only his wife is required to attend this meeting in our private room. Are you, his wife?” Manis questioned Sandra.
She appeared shy until Mark intervened and said, “She is my fiancée. We’re getting married soon. If she wants, she must accompany me.” When Mark told Diva about his marriage intentions with Sandra, she clapped her hands.
“Congratulations! Melon’s billionaire. I admire you, but I’m curious about your fault divorce.” Diva then expressed her joy at being with Mark.
“We were able to settle that, and my ex-wife is pleased with everything that is going on. We will not be enemies, but rather friends.” Sandra frowned at Diva, looking up and down at her until she saw her.
Diva despised Sandra, “The way you puked at Mark while he was engaging you proved that you would spit him out of your life at the time when he needs you the most. You were the one who criticized him. You are wicked, and I am embarrassed for my pal.”
“We came here for the investment meeting, not to argue about Sandra and Mark and their future plans. Stop inserting yourself into instances in which you don’t belong. Please do not press me to take additional action against you.” Sandra was getting closer to Diva as she spoke, but Mark stopped her, and Manis stood by Diva to block her path to Sandra.
Then Diva said to Manis, “She is correct. I should not have talked the way I did, but the way she stared at me revolted me.”
Then Diva sat down and said, “Please go to the private office, the three of you, and talk about whatever you want to talk about. You will then return to me.”
Manis nodded and turned to face Mark. Sandra folded her hands and looked aside when Mark gazed at her.
“I’ll give you the privacy you require. I will only be left in this office if you call in the guards to look after me.” Mark stepped outside to summon his four guards who were stationed outside the door.
They entered, and Mark asked, “Are you happy that you’re safe now?” Sandra nodded and sat down on the chair across from Diva. Mark’s two guards stood near him, while the other two stood by the door. Dwayne, Diva’s bodyguard, was summoned. He was in the parking lot in the automobile of his boss lady, Diva. As a result, he came, but as Mark’s bodyguards opened the door, they saw their former colleague’s bodyguards. This is because Dwayne used to be the billionaire’s bodyguard.
They refused to let him in, but Diva contradicted them, stating, “He is my bodyguard, not an enemy. If you do not let him in, I will call you out of this office.”
Then Sandra went on to say, “Let him in for Ms. Diva’s safety.”
“Thank you.” When Diva noticed Sandra being nice to her, she responded. As a result, they let Dwayne in, and he stood next to Diva. The gathering fell silent as the billionaire and his new broker talked in the private area. They spoke as though they were having a casual conversation. This appeared when Mark was probed about his relationship with his new fiancée, Sandra.
Mark simply said, “She is the mother of my children. To my billionaire’s heirs. Gwen, on the other hand, is a barren vixen who excels in instigating endless squabbles.”
“Because you stated you were about to speak in harmony. While you are splitting from Gwen, why don’t you just update the bank details and route the funds to your personal account? I mean, selling all of your shares at the same time is not a good idea.” Manis responded to the chat he had with Mark when they sat on the royal gold swinging chairs, drinking whisky from the coffee table in front of them.
“I suggested it, but my broker refused, claiming that it would have an impact on the shares my wife owns. When I spoke with my wife, however. I mean, my ex-wife was overjoyed this morning when I told her I was splitting my shares and giving her half.” Mark responded by slowly swinging on the chair he was sitting on. Manis carried the phone to the sofa table and dialed Mark’s broker, Ladino. He answered the phone and knew everything about his rival, Manis.
he said, “The billionaire has turned to you. Let us hope he had made a deal with his wife.”
“Right now, the only thing that matters is the business, not the family issue. I’m phoning to request that you turn over all of the billionaire’s property to me. The arrangement was made after my client spoke with his ex-wife. Fifty percent of the shares owned by Mark and Gwen will be transferred to his new broker, who will manage his investment.” Manis responded to Gwen and Mark’s brokers, but the situation appeared to be complicated, requiring both brokers to meet with the share owners in order to achieve a formal agreement.
“This cannot be resolved over the phone. We’ll need to arrange a meeting with Mark and his ex-wife. It is necessary to obtain an agreement in writing.” Ladino replied.
Manis inquired, “When would that happen? I mean, this situation needs to be addressed right away.”
“I’ll talk to Mark and Gwen first, then refer our agreement to their lawyers, and then we can meet. This week will be no exception. The brokers will then meet next week to resolve the matter concerning the shares. This matter is complex. It should be resolved by next week. Is that okay with you?” Ladino stated, and then Manis stared at Mark. Mark nodded, as if he wasn’t concerned.
Manis then turned to Ladino and said, “Please give me a call when you are ready to meet me by next week.”
“I will comply with your request. Have a nice day, ma’am.” Manis dropped the phone call.
Then said to Mark, “Let us return to the ladies.” She stood up and led the way out of the private office to the other office, where Sandra and Diva were still present. When Mark entered the room, his gaze met Dwayne’s.
Dwayne smiled and said, “salute sir, with all respect and honor, I am pleased to meet you in a good quiet place like this.” Mark nodded but did not sit down as Diva had expected. He stood by Manis as she began to discuss the issue with the attendee.
“Any matter relating to the shares involving Mark is postponed to the following week. I cannot proceed with any shareholding issue until his wife’s case is resolved.” The comments of Manis infuriated Diva.
“What we came for has nothing to do with the billionaire’s divorce. This is about our agreement. Why are you rescheduling the meeting? I’ll contact another broker to handle this.” Diva spoke angrily. She even rose up and pointed fingers at Manis.
She then exited the office, but Mark grabbed her hand, and she smiled as he pulled her closer to him. Sandra was angry by this act since she knew Diva and Mark were in love. She approached the door, opened it, and then said, “Let her go. Give her what she requires and then let her go.” Mark walked out of the office with her, followed by Dwayne, her security. Manis and Sandra were left with Mark.
They exchanged glances before Sandra inquired, “What was the agenda of the meeting? I mean, it appears like it was just to kill time.” Manis smiled as she glanced at Sandra, ready to speak.
Mark interrupted, saying, “We came to make Manis our new broker to handle our investments. The challenge, though, is divorce, which is exacerbating the situation.”
“I apologize if I am exaggerating. I’d like to go home right now.” Sandra responded.
Mark agreed and told Manis, “I will keep you updated on the shareholding issue between me and my ex-wife.” The two exchanged handshakes.
