Chapter 12 Spiked Up (4)
Jeffery Sanderson's POV
I was never meant to indulge her yet she subtly intrigued me. It was supposed to be just a mild kiss, but the sight of her in my arms melted me.
Was I falling in love? Certainly not! Rihanna had never been much more of a girl to me, but the fact that she subtly took my advice did excite me.
As much as I tried, I couldn't shake off her tantalizing body from my head, her sweet lips and jaunty perky breasts. What would a poor boy do in such circumstances? Taking advantage of her would wreck me into pieces, yet it was obvious that she had wanted me.
Me? A cassanova?
I was forced against my will to make up with Jenny Connor. To make love with her became like a task. Maybe, our relationship was indeed a job to keep face.
"Hey, Fine face!" Ryan called out while walking into the locker room from the bathroom. We'd just concluded one of our football practices on the field.
I looked up at him from where I sat. "What's up?"
"You wouldn't like this but just gotta say it anyway. Are you dating your girlfriend's girlfriend now?" He asked me.
My heart somersaulted, fizzing out as other pairs of eyes swirled in my direction. I laughed, trying to ease the tension.
"What the hell, man! Can't you just think of a reasonable thing to say?" I asked, feigning a slight fury.
"Okay. You had better check them out then. The two friends seem to be at it," Ryan smirked. Ethan, one of our colleagues elbowed him whispering to him.
I jerked up to my feet, while the bench which I sat on fell to the floor. All eyes turned on me again. And before my name could be called, my feet took flight.
"Didn't he say he doesn't have a thing with the odd girl?" I heard someone say behind my back.
Down the passage, I could identify two girls surrounded by other thirsty students who enjoyed watching flying punches and raining fists. I delved in between them, shrugging them apart but Jenny wouldn't let go.
Her hand came flying and hit my face in a resounding slap. My eyes clamped briefly before I shoved Rihanna behind me.
"Come on, Jenny, what's all this commotion?" I asked her, turning to watch her reddening face and tuzzled hair.
"Don't, Jeff! You have been calling Rihanna secretly behind me." She came at me.
My heart jumped into my mouth. "What do you mean?" I asked her.
"Don't play me for a fool!" She shrieked, looked over at her best friend then back at me. "You know what's worst, Jeff? I can condo you making out with other girls but my best friend? That's way beyond."
I took a step further, trying to touch Jenny. "Come on, Jenny. Stop with all these now. Anna is your friend." I reminded her.
Jenny laughed, turning her cold gaze at me. "So, you call her Anna now? I went through your phone, and I noticed you've been calling her straight for a week. I'd shrugged it off until Lizzy told me that she'd seen you two out at the cinema." She explained.
I was speechless. I was careful not to bring questioning eyes our way. I was secretly smitten by Rihanna that I found myself doing things that I wouldn't have done in the past. Maybe, it was time to come out in the open now. What was the point? I was in love with Rihanna.
"Step aside, Jeff, and let me deal with my lackey. One beating would amend every thought in her." Jenny combed her hair backward.
I felt a stir behind me. Rihanna's hand reached out and pushed me from her path, facing her best friend.
"I'm done being your lackey," Rihanna said out boldly. "At least you've pointed that out."
"You still have the boldness to talk," Lizzy stepped in beside Jenny. She was Jenny's new friend made at the party.
If this were to go on, they would all end up being suspended from school, and I wouldn't want that for any of them, especially for Rihanna.
"Have you ever considered me your friend?" Rihanna asked.
"Now let me remind you, no friend of mine steals my boyfriend," Jenny clenched her teeth as she stepped closer.
"Maybe, you should throw that question to Jeff, if I indeed stole him from you," Rihanna turned her head towards me.
I smirked, Rihanna was smart to steer all conversation from her. I took two strides forward, picked her up to my shoulder, and started walking away with her. That had Jenny more shaken.
"Put me, down Jeff! She has to explain to me what a lackey means!" Rihanna shouted, drumming her fists into my back. I understood that she was pissed but I wasn't dropping her down.
The moment I crossed by the male's restroom, I retraced my step, flung the door open, and walked in. The moment I turned the lock behind us, I dropped her down, caging her body to the door.
"What are you doing?" She stared at me wide-eyed.
