Chapter 13 Spiked Up (5)
I hissed, sucking in my breath as my body pressed against hers. She still had a startled expression on her face. Her breaths deepened as my fingers flickered across her face, her cheeks and nestled on her lips.
"What are you doing?" She planted her eyes on mine.
"Where did you get your courage from?" I smirked, sinking into the pits of her eyes.
"You should be reminded that this is a toilet," she rasped out, her eyes skating from my eyes to my lips.
"Answer me," I brushed my lips lightly on her.
She gasped, parting her lips and allowing our hands to interlock above our heads. "If you continue to...hmm...to do just that, I'm gonna lose myself here," she hummed.
"I do not mind. You just burst my pebbles and I cannot allow the moment to filter by," my teeth tugged at her lower lip, let go, and repeated the same process.
"Until I do get the most appropriate answer, I won't stop eating you up," I breathed into her mouth.
Deciding to have a little fun with her, I shifted my pelvic lower, brushing my swollen bulge against her private region, relishing in her slightly shut eyes and opened mouth.
"Are you giving up already?" I croaked, kissing her neck.
She trembled in my arms, her hands roped around me, gripping me firmly. "You have given me such boldness," she replied, kissing me back.
I scoffed, "Really, Anna?"
"Why don't you just kiss me, Jeff?" She pleaded.
"I want to kiss you till your eyes roll behind your head, but I'm afraid if I do such to you, I might never be able to stop myself," I confessed.
She looked surprised, then her face was overtaken by sketches of embarrassment. Then she shut her eyes and banged a fist on my chest. I laughed, tilting her face to stare up at me.
"Don't tell me you're shy," I whispered, amused by this side of her.
"You love to tease me. You did this while we were in the car," she muttered.
"I'm not teasing you," I objected. "My driver was at your house, and you weren't in a good state as of then." My brows cocked.
"What do you mean by that, or are you reconsidering me?"
Something in me broke. My tongue flickered across my lower lip and I stepped away from her, combing my fingers through my hair. She watched, wondering what had changed my countenance.
"I am not reconsidering you, or whatever way you put it. I want you, Rihanna. And I want it to be memorable." I turned to face her.
"I didn't think you wanted me that much because of how you treasure your knitted relationship with your best friend," I explained further.
She smiled. "I love Jenny a lot but I don't think she loves me likewise." She reached out and pressed herself against me.
"You're the best thing that ever happened to me." She revealed. My heart surged with pride as I allowed her to kiss me.
Rihanna's POV
My lungs could barely contain my excitement as I let out a muffled scream, my fists folding in triumphant jerks. Jeffrey Sanderson had finally proposed to me to be his girlfriend. I worked at the coffee shop down the alley, two blocks away from campus. He'd called me asking when I would be off from work, so he could pick me up for our date which was going to be a surprise.
I was goofy, thrilled at the prospect of seeing his face once more. Were we going to make love afterward? The thought pierced through me, making my face reddened. I could tell that my face was growing weary of my smiles.
After closing hour, I still hadn't seen Jeffery who had promised to pick me up. Out of glee, I decided to trek down the alley, holding my tote bag to my shoulder. Contemplations swerved my mind, each jumbled over the other. I couldn't tell if I should keep on trekking hoping to catch sight of Jeff's familiar car or I should return to the coffee shop to await him.
Something flew towards me and landed on my cheek, grazing it slightly. I gasped, looking down at the size of the rock that had fallen to the ground while holding my already bleeding cheek.
"I told you she would walk this path." I heard the familiar hiss of Lizzy.
My head jerked up to meet Lizzy and Jenny, both dressed in a uniform top and shorts. Behind them was an older guy. Something was wrong, I could tell from the way they eyed me.
I took a step backward, ready to take flight if something went wrong.
"Oh, there's no way you would escape us this time around." Jenny grinned, waving the boy towards me.
"What do you want from me?" I asked. What was the point, I could buy us some time, while Jeffrey drove in our direction. As if reading my mind, Jenny snapped her fingers.
"Don't worry yourself about Jeffrey, he's stashed away in his little corner. Jeff belongs to me alone. I'm still trying to grasp how you of no substance will take Jeff away from me." Jenny dabbed a punch to my shoulder.
The punch hurt and I staggered. Still, I remained calm. I won't throw the first punch, I was outnumbered. What's with the dude anyway, was he here to hurt me?
"What did you do to Jeff? If you dare hurt Jeff...,"
"There goes the over-caring girlfriend!" Jenny clapped her hands, interrupting me.
"Maybe that's what attracted Jeffrey to you. You care too much which is stupid and dumb. You don't see it, don't you? Jeff is using you and you're falling for his tactics. He'll leave you dry and break your heart into pieces." Jenny seemed to have digressed into a counselor.
I scoffed. "You should be the one reading the handwriting on the wall. When was the last time Jeff confessed his feelings using the school media room? When was the last time Jeffrey took you out for a date? When was the last time he made you feel like a woman? I didn't steal Jeffrey from you like you claim I did. Jeffery is smitten by me." My voice was calm and subtle but the effect it had on her enraged her to the core.
She moved toward me and smashed my face with her hand. My cheek stung with heat but I held my hardened fist, as much as Jenny disliked me, I wouldn't be forced to raise my fist at her.
We'd been best friends, now what had happened to us? She despised me all because I'd fallen miserably in love with Jeffrey Sanderson, her boyfriend.
Jenny brushed tears from her eyes then stepped back. "I've been too good on you, Rihanna. You did this, not me." She stepped back as the boy stepped before me.
My eyes widened as the boy threw his fist jamming my head, followed by another fist to my chest. My sides stung from the several rain of punches. I was screaming already, cowering to a squat while shielding myself.
Bright fluorescent lights flooded us, blinding the boy momentarily. Jenny swore under her breath when a burgundy car skidded towards us, spraying a gush of sand from its tires. Jeffery stepped out, and from the other side came his best friend, Arthur, who didn't attend our school.
I jerked my head up only to realize that Jeffrey and Arthur were throwing and jamming fists with the other guy. After a thorough beating, the dude took to his heels while Jeffrey raised me to my feet.
"You think it will ever be you?" Jeffrey's voice pierced the serene silence as he turned to face a shaken Jenny.
Lizzy who had been tugging at her hand had already left her to her fate.
"Why her, Jeffrey?" Tears were swelling in Jenny's eyes.
"Because she's different!" Jeffery yelled into her face. "And she's nothing like you." He captured her chin fiercely, his fingers piercing into her skin so that she whimpered.
"You sent Derrick to apologize to me, then he tries to poison my drink so he could buy you some time, huh?" He couldn't care less about her tears.
I loosened the hold that Arthur had on me, walked towards Jeffrey, and grasped his muscled arm. His shirt was wrenched open at the side. Jeffery feeling my tender touch, bounced his eyes at me then let go of his hold on Jenny.
"But you've always loved me." Jenny wouldn't give it up.
"I never did Jenny, and I never would." With that, he ignored Jenny and enveloped me in a teddy bear hug.
Tears escaped my eyes. One for losing my best friend, and two for being blessed with another gift, Jeffrey Sanderson. As my eyelids clumsily clamped shut, his mouth found my mouth in a proud, soft, and welcoming kiss.
"Let me take you away fro
m here, and you'll never have to experience this ever again," he breathed in my mouth, finding my tongue to seal the promise. And in response, I moaned.
