Chapter 157 The Plan Revealed – Part 2

Chapter 157 The Plan Revealed – Part 2
"Have someone follow him. I want to know what he is doing at all times," Matilda said to George, standing up and exiting George's room after he had acknowledged.

Outside, Martin stood there for a while holding his phone. He returned to the house and was allowed in. He entered the house and asked one of the servants if Matilda was home.

"Yes, she is upstairs in her room," the servant replied.

Martin thanked the servant and headed for Matilda's room upstairs. He walked down the hallway and stopped in front of Matilda's room door. He knocked, and Matilda answered. Matilda was surprised to see Martin behind her door.

"Good, I didn't say anything while opening the door. I thought it was George. What does he want here?" Matilda thought, staring at Martin like she had seen a ghost.

"Mrs Davis, I would like to discuss something very important with you. Is that possible?" Martin asked.

"Sure, I would meet you downstairs in the study," Matilda said, staring at Martin like she wanted to read his mind.

"Thank you," Martin appreciated and left immediately.

Matilda stood there watching him leave and wondered what important discussion he wanted to have with her. She could have ignored him. After all, he was a guard to Bryce, but her curiosity got the better of her, just like Martin had hoped, and she stepped out of her room.

Martin waited downstairs and saw Matilda descending the staircase. They both walked into the study.

"Thanks for taking time off your busy schedule to see me," Martin began.

"Hmm," Matilda said and sat down, offering Martin a seat too.

"I would start with," Martin said and cleared his throat. The whole world knows I am here," he said, showing Matilda a social media image of himself taken inside her compound with a time stamp and captions.

The caption reads: "I came to visit the Davis family. It's an awesome place. I will let you know when I leave."

Matilda frowned upon seeing the image and the caption Martin had posted on his social media platform. It already had 1.2K views in less than 10 minutes of posting it.

"I take it that the Davis family are very popular," Martin said.

"What did you want to discuss with me?" Matilda asked, her expression filled with anger.

"I am running an investigation for my boss, and I found out that Josephine is not your daughter but a servant who worked for you in this very house. You were right about Josephine Brown and Mathew Moore being the parents of my boss. What I don't understand, and I need your help to understand, is why would you name my boss heir to the Davis family and entrust all your businesses under him when he is not a Davis?" Martin asked and waited for Matilda to answer.

"I see you did your homework very well," Matilda said and smiled, but her smile never reached her eyes.

Martin stared at her expressionless.

"Yes, you are right, Josephine was never my biological daughter, but I treated her as one," Matilda said.

"By treating her as your biological daughter, do you mean, like the way you treat the servants of this house? Which means, all the servants here can be considered your daughters," Martin chipped in, and the expression on Matilda's face changed.

"I treated her better," Matilda said, trying to control her emotions. "Wait a second, why are you interrogating me?" she asked realizing Martin was just a guard to Bryce.

"I was able to find out everything, but what I couldn't find is your motive behind making my boss the heir to a family he is not tied to by blood," Martin said.

"I don't need to explain myself to you. If you are here in the capacity of your boss, tell him to come and see me himself," Matilda said. "This discussion is over," she added.

"Very well. I passed the message to my boss," Martin said and stood up.

"Get out and never try this nonsense again," Matilda warned.

"Well, noted," Martin said and exited the study.

He walked towards the exit and was soon out of the building. He walked to the main gate and was soon out of the compound. He requested an Uber and waited for the car to arrive. The ride arrived, and he sat inside, and they left for the apartment he had rented for Bryce. He kept looking behind to ensure he was not followed.

Back at the Davis apartment, Matilda called George and asked him to come over to her bedroom.

"You wanted to see me urgently. What happened?" George asked once inside Matilda's room.

"Can you believe that stupid guard called Martin is onto us?" Matilda said, and George frowned.

"What do you mean?" George asked for further explanation.

"I don't know where he gets his information, but he knows," Matilda informed him.

"What does he know?" George asked.

"He knows Bryce is not a Davis, and he came to ask me why I named Bryce the heir," Matilda said.

"How did he get the details?" George asked.

"I don't know, but I don't want to wait for him to dig more. Move to the next face of the plan. Call Angela and invite her over using Zora. Once she comes over, we trap Bryce, and Eduardo can take him out," Matilda said, and George nodded, pulling his phone out.

Back at Bryce's new apartment, Martin stood in the middle of the living room with an earpiece inside his ears and his gaze fixated on his phone. He smiled.

"Gotcha," he whispered on his lips.
