Maddison POV
I woke up alone in the bed, stretching languidly as I rolled onto my back. I looked around the empty room, frowning slightly as I realized Maddox was nowhere to be seen.
Goodness! I slapped my head as I thought if the way I begged him last night to go rougher in me. Hell probably laugh at me if he sees me.
I sighed, sitting up and running a hand through my tangled hair. I really needed a shower after last night's activities. My body was sore in all the right places, muscles aching pleasantly from the thorough fucking he had given me. He should probably be out doing unreasonable things.
I stood up and stretched again, rolling my shoulders to loosen the kinks. Then I headed into the bathroom, my eyes darted to the mirror and this time, it was worse. Maddox had given me marks I couldn't even hide with make-up.
What was wrong with him?
I turned on the shower and stepped under the spray. I groaned as the hot water pounded against my skin, soothing my tired muscles and hurting my bruised skin.
As I washed myself, my mind wandered to the evening before. Finn had driven me to the supermarket, where I had indulged in some retail therapy, buying up all sorts of ingredients and gadgets for the kitchen.
I couldn't wait to get back and start cooking a d maybe poison Maddox, I wanted to show him that I wasn't just some airhead whom he could use as he desired.
I stepped out of the shower and wrapped a fluffy towel around myself. As I dried off, I caught sight of my reflection in the mirror again. The marks on my neck and chest were even more visible now, dark purple bruises in the shape of fingers. I winced at the sight, a tingle of both shame and excitement running through me at the memory of how they got there.
Shaking my head, I pulled on some clothes and made my way to the kitchen. I had a lot of work to do if I was going to have a feast ready for Maddox tonight. Not that I cared if he ate it or not, I just wanted to show off my cooking skills.
I spent the day chopping vegetables, seasoning meats, and baking bread. The aromas filled the apartment, making my stomach growl in anticipation. By the time evening rolled around, I had prepared a veritable smorgasbord of dishes, from pasta to grilled fish to a decadent chocolate cake.
As I was putting the finishing touches on the table setting, I heard the front door open and close. Maddox was home. My heart started to race and I smoothed down my dress, suddenly nervous about his reaction.
"Something smells good," Maddox said as he entered the kitchen, his eyes widening as he took in all the food. "Did you make all this?"
I nodded proudly. "Yep, from scratch. I wanted letting know not only you can cook." I rolled my eyes at him.
"Did you enjoy last...."
"Stop it." I cut him off before he could finish his sentence, "I hadn't even sued you for last night and all the bruises you have to me.
He chuckled, "oh, did you forget last night? Princess, you were the one begging me to go rougher on you and I couldn't help but oblige and I enjoyed it."
"Maddox! I am not going to forgive you for this! First of all you took my virginity and last night... Last night.." I didn't want to complete my sentence because I knew I gave in to him.
"Last night? What happened last night?" He asked with a smile.
"Don't ask me that, I'm leaving for work this evening, I need to make money at the club. Don't you dare stop me this time or mess with my boss. Remember if he's scared of you, I am not!" I hissed at him walking to the dinning.
"Why don't you work for me? I'll throuple your pay." He asked.
"Work for you? What job did you even do? I don't like shady things and working for you could be annoying. Nevermind, I'll stick to being a performer at the club.
"You be my secretary, I'll make your pay greater than at the club, you don't have to worry about going back, I'll terminate the contract for you."
That sounded tempting but I don't trust Maddox, he might cheat me. "Any contract." I asked in a whisper.
"Tch, you need a contract? Don't worry you'll get it, I'll make it ready tomorrow. All you need to do is follow me attend business meetings and client dinners, even parties."
"It isn't hard, but... I don't trust you."
"You have no choice but to."
I hesitated for a moment, my mind racing as I weighed my options. On one hand, working for Maddox could be dangerous. I had no idea what kind of business he was involved in, and I didn't want to get mixed up in anything shady. Plus, I didn't trust him not to try to take advantage of me again.
But on the other hand, the pay he was offering was tempting. And it would mean I wouldn't have to deal with my creepy boss at the club anymore. Not to mention, it would give me an excuse to stay close to Maddox, even if it was just as his secretary.
"Okay," I finally said, my voice barely above a whisper. "I'll do it. But I want that contract in writing, and I want it to say exactly what my duties will be. And you better not try anything funny with me, Maddox. I'm not some toy for you to play with whenever you feel like it."
He smirked at me, his eyes gleaming with satisfaction. "Of course, princess. I would never dream of taking advantage of my beautiful new secretary." He reached out and ran a finger down my cheek, making me shiver despite myself.
"Now, why don't you come sit with me and we can discuss your duties in more detail? I'm sure you'll be a very helpful assistant." His voice was low and seductive, sending a thrill down my spine.
I knew I shouldn't, but I found myself following him into the living room, perching on the edge of the couch next to him. "So, what exactly will I be doing?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady.
"Well, as my secretary, you'll be attending business meetings with me, taking notes, and organizing my schedule. You'll also be in charge of answering my phone and emails, and making sure I'm where I need to be when I need to be there." He ticked off each item on his fingers as he spoke.
"Sounds simple enough," I said, nodding. "And the parties? What will I be doing there?"
He chuckled, his hand sliding up my thigh under my skirt. "You'll be on my arm, looking pretty and charming my clients. And maybe, if you're a good girl, I'll let you help me with some... other duties." His fingers brushed against my panties, making me gasp.
"Maddox..." I warned, pushing his hand away. "We had a deal. No funny business."
He held up his hands in mock surrender, but the smirk never left his face. "Of course, princess. I wouldn't dream of crossing you."
"Better."
