Chapter 105 The hospital visit
But Alex wasn't backing away yet. He placed a finger gently on his lips, silencing him. Then he puckered his lips dramatically and removed his finger from Lucas’s lips waiting for his kiss.
Lucas burst into a small laugh.
“You’re impossible,” he muttered before leaning forward and giving Alex a quick kiss. His shyness was still obvious to Alex, but it was also so endearing.
Alex grinned with satisfaction.
“You know what,” he said. “We’re going to the hospital first. The others can handle work today.”
Lucas’s expression softened.
“Okay, honey,” he agreed, then quickly turned and headed to the closet.
As he reached it, he glanced back and saw Alex finally heading towards the bathroom.
Lucas paused, as he noticed that at the place Alex had arranged the clothes he bought for him the last time he was there, was the same place where he had collected the nightwear he had given him the night before. But there were several more clothes of his size arranged in the same place.
He blinked in surprise.
“Oh goodness…he shopped for me” he murmured.
A soft smile spread across his face as he ran his fingers over the fabrics.
“He really cares about me too much,” Lucas whispered to himself.
His smile deepened, threatening to draw tears out of his eyes.
“If the doctor says nothing is wrong with me… I’ll remain his baby and hold back nothing.”
He exhaled softly. “He’s too sweet to resist.”
Lucas picked up a pair of black pants and a brown shirt, dressing quickly. Just as he finished adjusting his sleeves, Alex stepped out of the bathroom.
Lucas looked up, and without warning Alex walked straight to him. “You're looking dashing, baby.”
Lucas barely had time to react before Alex pulled him by the collar and pressed a warm kiss on his lip.
Lucas smiled, gave him a warm hug, and said, “Thanks a lot, honey.”
As Alex was dressing up, Lucas went downstairs, walked over to the kitchen, and quickly prepared a chocolate drink and toasted bread for a quick breakfast.
They sat opposite each other drowning in each other's eyes and smiling from time to time.
An hour later, they were on their way to Kornelly Hospital. The morning air outside was cool and fresh as Alex drove them across the city. Lucas sat quietly in the passenger seat, his hands resting together on his lap.
Alex noticed his calm, “Nervous?” he asked gently.
“A little,” Lucas responded.
Alex reached over and squeezed his hand briefly. “Don't worry, I'm right here and everything will be alright.”
Lucas nodded.
The car eventually pulled into the parking lot of a large medical complex. Lucas exhaled slowly as they stepped out.
“Doctor Peter’s office is on the third floor,” he said as they entered the building together, walking side by side down the quiet hospital corridor. The faint scent of antiseptic filled the air as they approached the reception desk.
Lucas spoke softly to the nurse, who nodded and made a quick call.
A few minutes later, the door at the end of the hallway opened.
A man in his late fifties stepped out. The moment his eyes landed on Lucas, recognition appeared instantly.
“Lucas?” he said warmly.
Lucas gave a small nod.
“Hello, Doctor Peters.”
“Lucas, wow, you've grown so big. If not for your pretty face, I wouldn't recognize you.”
Lucas smiled, “It's been a long time, doctor. How are you doing?”
I'm good, Lucas and how are you?
The doctor walked toward them, then paused as he noticed Alex standing beside him. “Alex, Alex Benson? Is that really you?
“Yes doctor, you remember me? It has been years.”
“Yes, you didn't change much except that you're more handsome.”
They chuckled heartily.
His gaze moved between the two men with quiet curiosity. “Lucas, you wanted to see me.”
Lucas glanced briefly at Alex before speaking. “Yes Doctor, you know Alex already. He is my friend.”
There was a brief silence. Then Lucas added gently. “He is aware of everything.”
Doctor Peter’s expression softened with understanding as he nodded slowly.
“Well,” he said kindly, stepping aside and gesturing toward his office. “Then I suppose we should talk in my office.”
When they finally settled in the consultation room, the air carried a quiet tension. Dr. Peters adjusted his glasses and leaned back slightly in his chair before speaking.
“So, Lucas,” the doctor began calmly, folding his hands on the desk, “How have you been since the last time we met? Have you noticed anything unusual or any special observation?”
Lucas swallowed. His fingers were already twisting together in his lap.
“Yes, doctor,” he said slowly. “There is some observation.”
The doctor nodded thoughtfully and reached for the intercom. He was about to press the button when he paused and looked back at Lucas. “What is your card number again? Can you recall it?”
Lucas answered instantly, almost automatically. “Yes. It’s 407.”
Dr. Peters pressed the intercom.
“Please bring me Lucas’s file, card number 407,” he said into the receiver before setting it back down.
The room fell quiet again before
The doctor leaned forward slightly. “Alright, Lucas,” he said in a gentle tone. “Tell me what you observed.”
Lucas opened his mouth, but no words came out. His chest tightened. Suddenly the explanation that had seemed clear in his mind felt impossible to say aloud. His fingers began to fidget nervously, rubbing against each other as his eyes dropped to the floor.
Seated beside him was Alex who noticed immediately.
Lucas’s knee was bouncing slightly. His hands trembled just enough to give away his anxiety.
Dr. Peters noticed it too but remained patient.
Alex shifted closer and gently took Lucas’s hand in his.
“Baby,” Alex said softly, squeezing his fingers reassuringly, “Come on. You need to tell the doctor what’s bothering you, okay? That’s why we’re here.”
Lucas let out a shaky breath.
“I know but… I…” His voice trailed off.
Dr. Peters smiled kindly, instantly understanding the discomfort. This wasn’t the first time a patient had struggled to speak about some things.
He decided to help Lucas out.
“Let me ask you something instead,” the doctor said calmly. “Did you experience an erection?”
Lucas froze for a second, then slowly nodded.
Alex felt the small movement of his head beside him and tightened his hold on his hand supportively.
Dr. Peters’ expression brightened. “Wow,” he said, clearly pleased. “That’s actually very good news.”
Lucas blinked in surprise.
“Did it come and go like those spontaneous morning ones we talked about before,” the doctor continued, “or do you think something specific triggered it?”
Lucas hesitated again, his cheeks warming slightly.
He glanced briefly at Alex before looking back at the doctor.
“I… I’m not sure,” he admitted quietly. “It felt different.”
Dr. Peters leaned forward with interest. “Different how?”
Lucas inhaled slowly, trying to organize his thoughts.
“It didn’t just happen and disappear like before,” he said carefully. “It stayed longer and it felt stronger.”
Alex’s brows lifted slightly in surprise, but he remained silent so Lucas could continue.
“And…,” Lucas added, his voice lowering, “I think something might have triggered it.”
