Chapter 680 My Fiancée

Chapter 680 My Fiancée

Hearing this news, Paxon frowned slightly, his voice low, "I just had dinner with Mr. Sharp a few days ago. Why didn't he mention this?"

Yolanda sniffled, "Dad didn't want me to tell you. He was worried that if you knew, you wouldn't let him participate in the BM investment project. He wants to be your most valued mentor."

Yolanda's father, Atticus Sharp, was a financial expert. When Paxon first took over ZERO Corporation, Zephyria was in the midst of a financial crisis.

Thanks to Professor Sharp's help, he had profited from many investment projects.

He had always respected him.

Learning that someone who had helped him so much had a terminal illness, Paxon felt terrible.

He rubbed his temples, "I'll go see him later. Don't worry, I'll find the best oncology specialists to treat Mr. Sharp."

Hearing him say this, Yolanda's emotions calmed down a bit, "Paxon, thank you. Besides you, I don't know who else to turn to. But you just got back home—will this interrupt your family reunion?"

"No. My family will understand. Take good care of him."

After hanging up, Paxon called his assistant and told him to find the best specialists in the country to treat Professor Sharp.

Victoria came out of the bathroom just in time to hear these words.

She immediately asked, "Who's sick?"

Paxon turned around, bent down to look at her delicate face, and couldn't help pinching her chin.

"It's one of my teachers who helped me a lot when I was abroad. After we finish eating, come with me to see him."

Victoria pouted, somewhat reluctant, "I don't even know him. Why do I have to go?"

Paxon leaned close to her ear and blew a warm breath, his voice husky, "Because you're my personal secretary now. Wherever I go, you follow."

Feeling this familiar stimulation, Victoria immediately dodged away in fright.

Her clear eyes blinked involuntarily a few times, her voice soft, "Just talk normally. Don't harass me with your actions."

Paxon grinned mischievously, "Okay, I won't harass you with actions. How about with my mouth?"

As he spoke, he lowered his head again, moving toward Victoria's lips.

Victoria quickly covered his mouth, "Paxon, don't push your luck! I'm your secretary now. Be careful or I'll report you for workplace sexual harassment."

Paxon laughed, his chest vibrating, his large hand ruffling Victoria's hair, "Not bad. You know how to protect yourself with legal weapons. But you forgot that you're also my fiancée."

"That's two different things. Work and personal life should be kept separate. Don't you know that? Idiot."

With that, she turned to leave.

Paxon grabbed her wrist, pulled hard, and drew her into his arms.

Looking at her with doting eyes, "After we eat, come with me to the hospital. I'll also have someone check how badly you're hurt."

Hearing this, Victoria glared at him angrily, "I don't want to."

"I'm worried. If not, let me take a look."

Victoria immediately broke free from his embrace and ran out of the room.

Seeing her flustered expression, Alexander was puzzled, "What's wrong? What happened?"

"I ran into a wolf."

Joyce couldn't help laughing, "You mean my big bad wolf? Did he bully you? Tell me about it, I'll go beat him up."

Paxon walked over, handed Victoria a glass of milk, and said with a smile, "How would I dare bully her? Since childhood, I can't afford to offend anyone in this family. Even our Samoyed barks at me when it sees me."

He bent down, looking deeply at Victoria, his voice teasing, "Isn't that right, Victoria?"

Victoria took the milk and looked at him huffily, "That's because you're ugly. Even the dog can't stand to look at you."

Paxon looked at Sebastian, a smile playing at his lips, "Dad, Victoria says you're ugly."

"I did not! I was talking about you."

"But everyone who sees me says I look just like my dad. If I'm ugly, doesn't that mean I inherited his genes?"

Victoria had never won a verbal sparring match with Paxon since childhood.

She threw herself into Joyce's arms pitifully, "Paxon is bullying me again."

Joyce smiled and patted her head, "We won't give him any food later. Let him go hungry. He's ugly and doesn't even have the self-awareness. Victoria is the prettiest, a hundred times better looking than him."

Victoria curved her lips triumphantly at Paxon, "You're the ugly one."

Paxon sighed helplessly, "Fine, keep spoiling her. When she becomes part of our family, don't come complaining to me if she doesn't behave."

Joyce, "Victoria is so well-behaved. How could she misbehave? Unlike you, causing me trouble since you were little."

The two families happily shared a meal together.

After dinner, Paxon took Victoria to the hospital.

When Yolanda saw Paxon come in, tears immediately streamed down her cheeks.

Her voice choked, "Paxon, the doctor said if Dad doesn't have surgery, he has at most half a year left. He's my only family. If he's gone, what will I do?"

Paxon nodded reassuringly and said in a deep voice, "I've already contacted the best specialists from home and abroad. They'll arrive tomorrow. We'll have a consultation for the professor then. With modern medicine being so advanced, cancer isn't completely hopeless. Don't worry."

Yolanda nodded through her tears, "Thank you. Without you, I wouldn't know what to do."

While she was crying, she caught sight of Victoria standing behind him.

The girl was dressed casually—jeans, white T-shirt, her hair casually tied in a bun.

Her face had minimal makeup, looking clean and pure.

Those bright, clear eyes were staring at her intently.

Yolanda admitted she was beautiful, but standing before this girl, she suddenly felt an irrepressible sense of inferiority.

Though the girl hadn't adorned herself much, her innate temperament couldn't be concealed.

Yolanda wiped her tears and asked hesitantly, "This is..."

Paxon put his arm around Victoria's shoulder, "This is my fiancée, Victoria."

Hearing this, Yolanda froze instantly.

She couldn't help saying, "Fiancée? How come I've never heard you mention her before?"

Paxon looked down at Victoria, "She was too young before. I always saw her as family. Now that she's graduated, it's time to return to her rightful status."

A flash of disappointment appeared in Yolanda's eyes.

But she quickly recovered.

She extended her hand to Victoria, "Hello, I'm Yolanda, overseas project manager at ZERO Corporation. This is my father, also Paxon's teacher. We've fought alongside each other for three years, watching ZERO Corporation rise to the top step by step."

Victoria extended her hand without hesitation, smiling, "Hello, thank you and Professor Sharp for helping Paxon. Our whole family is very grateful. This is a small token of our appreciation. Please accept it, Ms. Sharp."

She took out a check from her bag, signed it, and handed it to Yolanda.

Seeing the check and the signature on it, Yolanda's sense of inferiority grew even stronger.

She considered herself a very capable person, earning a million-dollar annual salary at ZERO Corporation.

But what she had to work hard for a whole year to earn, Victoria just casually gave away.

This kind of wealthy socialite lifestyle was beyond her imagination.

Yolanda clenched her fists. She didn't take the check, but looked at Paxon calmly, "Ms. Cross and I aren't that close. I can't accept this gift."

Paxon affectionately ruffled Victoria's hair, his voice calm, "This is from both of us. Please don't refuse."

"But the check clearly has her signature."

"That's right, but the company is mine, and she can use all my assets."

Yolanda immediately took the check to examine it, only then seeing clearly that the stamp on it was actually from ZERO Corporation.

She stood there in a daze.

She could actually use all his assets.
