Chapter 679 I Don’t Believe You
Chapter 679 I Don’t Believe You
Paxon was only wearing a shirt with no tie, the collar unbuttoned by two buttons.
The faint red marks were suddenly spotted by Alexander.
Everyone's eyes turned to look in their direction.
Victoria froze in terror.
If Dad found out she was with Paxon last night, they would definitely force them to get married tomorrow.
Just as her heart was about to jump out of her chest from nervousness, she heard Paxon's calm voice beside her.
"Victoria bit me."
That one sentence shocked everyone present.
Joyce and Sebastian were just coming down from upstairs. Hearing this, they immediately rushed over to check.
Joyce smiled and took Sophia's hand, "Sophia, since the two kids have already gone this far, why not let them get married."
Sebastian also looked at Alexander with some pride, "Don't worry, Joyce and I have already prepared Victoria's wedding gift, and we've picked out the wedding venue too. We're just waiting for them to say yes. We thought we'd have to wait a while, but didn't expect it to happen so soon."
Alexander, who was already furious, became even angrier hearing Sebastian's words.
He grabbed Paxon by the collar, saying through gritted teeth, "You little punk, you made your move behind my back. Just got back to the country and already slept with my daughter. I'm going to break your legs."
He raised his fist to strike, but Paxon caught his wrist.
"Godfather, you've got it all wrong. Victoria did bite me, that's true, but she bit me this morning when she saw me because she was mad I hadn't come back to see her in three years. We just met up again - how could anything like that have happened?"
Alexander looked at him skeptically, "Are you telling the truth?"
"Yes, if I'm lying to you, you can break my legs."
"Even if you're not lying, I still want to break your legs."
Paxon laughed, "I'm your godson now, and when Victoria and I get married, I'll be your son-in-law. How could I lie to you?"
Alexander looked at Victoria, "Is what he said true?"
Victoria nodded repeatedly, "He hasn't come back to see me in three years. How could I get together with him so easily? Dad, you're overthinking it."
Alexander snorted coldly, "I hope I am overthinking it, otherwise I'll definitely teach you a lesson."
Alexander, who had been jumping mad just moments ago, now raised his eyebrows at Sebastian with a smile.
"Want to marry my princess? Dream on. I raised my daughter with such difficulty - how could I let her marry into the Winters family so easily?"
He patted Sebastian's shoulder meaningfully a few times, "Don't you know times have changed? Having a daughter is what matters now."
Sebastian smiled dismissively, "Don't gloat at me, I have a daughter too."
"But your son wants to marry my daughter. I'll have you in my grip for the rest of your life. Just thinking about it feels great - that's what you get for bullying me for over forty years."
Joyce watched the two middle-aged men bicker and pulled Sophia's hand, "They're fifty years old and still so childish. Let's ignore them and go have coffee over there."
The crisis was finally over, and Victoria felt like her legs had turned to jelly.
She collapsed onto the sofa, patting her chest and letting out a long breath of relief.
Ingrid saw her like this and leaned close to her ear, laughing, "I knew you two had something going on last night. You and Paxon..."
Victoria, who had just calmed down, was teased again and immediately covered Ingrid's mouth in fright.
Her eyes were pleading, "Please, stop talking. That bag you've been eyeing - I'll buy it for you, okay?"
Ingrid smiled and pinched her cheek, "Trading one secret for a car and a bag - what a deal. But next time, you two better tell me in advance so I can think about what else to squeeze out of you."
Paxon walked over and tapped her head, "Dream on. Go play somewhere else, Victoria and I need to talk."
Ingrid glared at him, "For the sake of that limited edition sports car, I won't hold it against you."
She gave Paxon a mischievous smile, then ran upstairs.
Paxon bent down and poked Victoria's puffed-up cheeks a few times, smiling, "Did I scare you?"
Victoria glared at him, "Did you let Dad see on purpose?"
"No, I was in a rush coming out and didn't button my shirt properly."
"Paxon, do you think I'm stupid?"
Paxon smiled and ruffled her hair, "Okay, my fault. I promise next time I won't let anyone find out."
Victoria, who was already angry, instantly became furious at those words.
She said through clenched teeth, "You want there to be a next time? Keep dreaming."
If she hadn't been drunk, how could she have let Paxon take advantage of her?
She pushed Paxon away and tried to stand up and leave.
But she felt a sharp pain shoot through her body.
She couldn't help but gasp, her brow furrowing tightly.
Damn it!
Last night she was too caught up in the moment to think about the aftermath being this bad.
Her whole body ached as she leaned back on the sofa, not wanting to move.
Seeing her like this, Paxon seemed to guess what was wrong.
He leaned close to her ear and asked quietly, "Does it hurt?"
Victoria glared at him without speaking, just frowning.
Paxon gently brushed her cheek, his voice low and husky, "Come to my room, I'll put some medicine on it for you."
Hearing this, Victoria immediately shrank back in alarm, "Don't try to trick me, I won't believe you."
Last night, this jerk had tricked her the same way.
Seeing her shy and scared expression, Paxon pinched her chin and coaxed gently, "Be good, I won't trick you this time. If we don't put medicine on it and it gets infected, you'll get a fever. Don't you remember what you're like when you have a fever?"
Victoria's eyelashes trembled a few times. She really didn't want to get a fever.
Because in a few days, she had to participate in a car race that was very important to her.
She lowered her head somewhat bashfully, her voice muffled, "Give me the medicine, I can do it myself."
Paxon took her hand, smiling, "Okay."
He led Victoria back to his room, found an anti-inflammatory pain relief ointment from the medicine box, and handed it to Victoria, "Sure you don't need my help?"
Victoria snatched the ointment, walked into the bathroom, and slammed the door shut with a bang, even locking it.
Seeing her so guarded, Paxon couldn't help but smile slightly.
Just then, his phone rang and he answered it directly.
A girl's somewhat sad voice came from the other end, "Paxon, Dad and I are back in the country. He has terminal cancer but doesn't want treatment. Can you help me talk to him?"
