Chapter 673 Uncle Leonard Proposes
Chapter 673 Uncle Leonard Proposes
The moment Orla felt something foreign in her mouth, her pupils suddenly contracted.
Her heart skipped a beat.
She froze for a second before spitting the thing out.
A pink diamond ring lay in her palm.
Orla's eyes widened: "Is this for me?"
Leonard tapped her forehead lightly: "Dummy, who else would it be for?"
"But we just got together. Isn't this too fast?"
"I've already given you all my assets. You still want to dump me?"
Orla held up the huge diamond ring, her eyes sparkling with amusement: "That depends on how you behave."
Leonard took the ring from her hand and put it on her finger without hesitation.
Then he lowered his head and kissed her fingertip: "With this ring on, you're Leonard's wife. For the rest of our lives, I'll protect you and never let you suffer any grievance. Orla, will you marry me?"
Orla's heart beat even faster.
She hadn't expected everything to move this quickly.
They'd just gotten her family's blessing today, and Leonard was already proposing.
So what comes next?
Would they move forward like other couples?
At this thought, Orla's cheeks burned.
Her beautiful eyes glistened as she stared at Leonard without blinking.
Her voice was soft: "But... I'm not ready yet. We still can't..."
The rest of the words stuck in her throat.
Though unclear, Leonard understood.
He smiled and pinched her cheek: "Baby, I'm just proposing. I didn't say I was going to do anything to you."
He slowly leaned down, moving close to her ear, his voice husky: "But if you want to, I can cooperate."
"I don't want to! Besides, your leg isn't convenient."
Orla pushed him away.
Her eyelashes trembled violently.
Leonard chuckled softly: "You could take the lead."
That one sentence made Orla's face burn even hotter.
What was this man even saying!
She pounded his chest in embarrassment: "Stop talking nonsense. I would never."
Seeing her shy reaction, Leonard couldn't help but pull her into his arms.
He lowered his head and kissed her lips: "Okay, I promise. Without your permission, I won't touch you. Feel better now?"
Orla nodded.
"So you agree to marry me?"
"What else? You've already given me all your assets. If I refused, you'd become a poor, pitiful guy. I can't bear that."
The smile on Leonard's lips deepened.
His large hand gently caressed her earlobe.
"My little fiancée, may I kiss you now?"
It sounded like he was asking permission, but before Orla could respond, he had already lowered his head and kissed her lips.
After going through so many obstacles, they could finally be together without any barriers.
This hard-won happiness excited them both.
Leonard's kiss was gentle and restrained, gradually guiding Orla to lose herself in it.
After some time, a knock came at the door.
"Orla, I brought some hangover soup for Leo."
Orla immediately pushed Leonard away, traces of desire still lingering in her eyes.
"I'll get the hangover soup. Don't let Tyler find out you're faking, or you're dead."
Leonard nodded obediently: "Okay, I'll listen to my wife."
He called her "wife" so naturally and smoothly, without any awkwardness.
But Orla's face flushed and her heart raced hearing it.
She pounded his chest once: "Don't call me that randomly. I'm not yet."
"You will be sooner or later. What's wrong with enjoying Mrs. Guise's privileges early?"
"I don't want to. Enjoying privileges means fulfilling obligations. You think I'm stupid?"
Leonard smiled and ruffled her hair: "Our Orla is certainly not stupid—she's very smart. Go on, I need to pretend to be drunk now."
With that, he quickly closed his eyes and arranged himself in a drunk person's pose on the bed.
Tyler pushed the door open and couldn't help laughing at Leonard's appearance.
"Leonard, you think marrying our Green family's little princess is that easy?"
Orla said reproachfully: "Uncle Tyler, you're settling personal scores."
"I'm setting rules for him, so he won't dare bully you later."
"He would never bully me."
As Orla spoke, she took the hangover soup from Tyler and gently nudged Leonard: "Drink the hangover soup."
Leonard sat up, half-squinting his eyes, picked up the bowl and said to Tyler: "Tyler, I'll drink first as a toast."
With that, he tilted his head back and drained the soup in one gulp.
Then he looked at Orla with a silly smile: "Wife, finally no one's against us being together."
As soon as he finished speaking, he buried his head in Orla's arms.
Tyler looked at him and smirked triumphantly.
"Leonard, sorry about this. Who told your brother to bully me since we were kids? I'm taking out all the grievances I suffered from him on you. This is called paying your brother's debts."
Orla glared at him irritably: "I'm going back with him tomorrow and never coming back, since you keep bullying him."
Seeing how protective she was, Tyler smiled and tapped her head: "Forgot who spoke up for you two in front of your grandfather? No thanks, just complaints."
"Fine, thank you, Uncle Tyler."
Several months later, Orla's concert tour ended.
She became famous overnight with Billy's compositions, becoming the youngest contemporary violinist and winning awards left and right.
Billy also became a famous composer.
Just stepping out of the airport, Orla immediately spotted Leonard sitting in his wheelchair.
The man wore a white shirt and black dress pants.
Even sitting in a wheelchair, his upright posture was unmistakable.
His handsome features and deep eyes made Orla fall for him all over again.
She dropped her luggage and ran toward him.
"Leonard!"
Leonard smiled and opened his arms, holding her tight.
He lowered his head and kissed her forehead: "Did you miss me?"
Orla nodded with a smile: "Yes, very much. Can I kiss you?"
Leonard pinched her face: "Kiss me at home. I have a surprise for you."
Orla was curious about what surprise could make this man hold back from kissing her even when they met.
