Chapter 674 Little Fiancée
Chapter 674 Little Fiancée
Orla has been touring everywhere these days, either on stage or on the road to the next venue.
On the way back, she leaned against Leonard and fell asleep soon after.
After sleeping for who knows how long, her ear was suddenly nibbled gently.
Then, a low, husky voice sounded in her ear.
"Orla, we're home."
Orla slowly opened her eyes, her flushed cheek rubbing against his shoulder.
Her voice was soft, "What about the surprise you mentioned?"
Leonard smiled and kissed her forehead, "Close your eyes, I'll take you somewhere."
He pulled off his tie and covered Orla's eyes with it.
Orla became even more curious as he led her out of the car.
She held Leonard's hand tightly, her lips curving slightly, "What surprise is so mysterious? Can you give me a hint?"
"It's something I owe you."
Leonard said while leading her into the yard.
They hadn't gone far when suddenly there was a loud "bang" in her ears.
Orla jumped into Leonard's arms in fright.
Sitting on his lap, arms around his neck, her voice soft, "This isn't a surprise, it's a scare."
Leonard lowered his head and kissed her earlobe, his voice husky, "It's okay now, you can open your eyes."
He slowly untied the tie from her eyes.
What met her eyes were petals dancing in the sky and familiar smiling faces.
The originally empty lawn had been beautifully decorated.
Flowers were everywhere.
Colorful lights twinkled in the sky.
Orla was stunned. She quickly walked into the crowd and said in disbelief, "How did you all get here?"
Hailey smiled and stroked her cheek, "How could we miss such an important day for you?"
Paxon squeezed out from the crowd, poking out his little head with a grin, "Orla, we're here to celebrate with you."
Orla smiled and pinched his face, "I've toured before, and I've never seen you guys make such a big deal. What's it for this time?"
Paxon made a "shh" gesture at her, "I can't tell, or Uncle Leonard will spank me. Anyway, Grandma said that after today, I can call you Aunt Orla."
Hearing this, Orla's heart skipped a beat.
She vaguely guessed something.
She was about to turn around and ask Leonard what was going on, but found he was no longer behind her.
Just as she was wondering, she saw a tall, upright figure walking toward her step by step.
That person was Leonard.
He wore a black suit, holding a bouquet of flowers, his face beaming with happiness.
His features showed undisguised joy.
Those long, narrow eyes looked at Orla affectionately without blinking.
After being apart for so long, seeing him stand up from the wheelchair again, seeing this tall, upright figure again, Orla's eyes reddened with emotion.
She couldn't wait to run toward Leonard.
Her eyes red at the corners, looking him over, "Is this the surprise you prepared for me? When did you stand up? Why didn't you tell me in advance? I was worried about you during the competition."
She knew how much effort Leonard had put in to stand up again.
She had thought about whether she could still spend her whole life with him if Leonard really couldn't stand up.
The answer was naturally yes.
Honestly, she had mentally prepared herself.
She didn't expect Leonard to actually fulfill his promise to her—he really stood up.
Leonard handed the flowers to Orla and lowered his head to kiss her forehead.
"I said I would give you a healthy and handsome husband. I did it. Orla, the last proposal was a bit too rushed. Today, in front of both our families, I'm formally proposing to you again."
With that, he took out a small box from his pocket.
He took out a jade-green bracelet from inside and knelt on one knee.
"Orla, this is a family heirloom my grandfather left for me to give to my wife. Wear it, and you'll be the lady of the Guise Family, my wife. Are you ready?"
Orla hadn't yet recovered from the surprise of him standing up when she was suddenly proposed to again.
And in front of all their family members.
To say she wasn't excited would be a lie.
She knew that after taking this step, Leonard would become her official fiancé.
Next they would get engaged, married, have children, and walk hand in hand through the rest of their lives.
Her eyes reddened as she looked at Leonard.
She nodded gently, "Yes, I'm ready."
Getting her consent, Leonard's smile deepened.
He immediately put the bracelet on Orla's hand, then lowered his head to kiss the back of her hand, saying softly, "Baby, I'll protect you for the rest of my life."
Seeing this scene, Howard's tears flowed uncontrollably.
He wiped his face and looked up at the stars in the sky, his voice choked, "Orla has found someone she can entrust her life to. You can rest in peace now."
Hearing this, everyone present became emotional.
Seeing the atmosphere wasn't quite right, Paxon immediately ran over on his short little legs, looking up and saying, "Uncle Leonard, if you don't kiss Orla soon, I'm going to kiss her."
That one sentence scared Leonard into standing up immediately.
He glanced at Paxon, "She's my wife, why should I let you kiss her?"
With that, he held Orla's chin and lowered his head to kiss her lips.
Officially confirming this relationship in front of both families, Leonard felt indescribable emotions welling up inside.
There was excitement, gratitude, but more than anything, heartache for how Orla had rushed to him regardless of everything back then.
These complex emotions made the kiss even more lingering and unstoppable.
Orla felt like her whole body was going numb from his kiss.
She didn't even get a clear look at the betrothal gifts the Winters family gave her before Leonard carried her into the room.
Everything was so natural, everything was so heart-fluttering.
Leonard pressed her against the door, kissing her lips urgently.
His burning lips moved down along her cheek step by step.
Until they landed on that patch of soft whiteness.
Orla felt like her body was on fire, low sounds escaping from her throat unconsciously.
This sound acted like a catalyst, making the already hard-to-control Leonard even more unstoppable.
The atmosphere in the room became intimate.
The sounds of low breathing continued until dawn.
Many years later.
Leonard held his daughter Nora as they attended Paxon's school opening ceremony.
Watching the little boy on stage holding a microphone, giving a speech as the new student representative.
Nora clapped her hands, constantly shouting, "Paxon, Paxon."
Leonard smiled and kissed her chubby cheeks, "Paxon is great. Our Nora should learn from him in the future, okay?"
Nora seemed to understand and nodded repeatedly, "Learn, learn."
As they were talking, Paxon came down from the stage.
A little girl in a white dress holding a lollipop ran toward him.
The little girl handed the candy to Paxon, grinning, "Paxon, you're so great. This candy is for you."
Paxon took the candy, held the little girl's hand, and a smile spread across his lips.
