Chapter 89 My plan
After Alec dropped Anita at Arthur’s house, he drove off, while Anita walked in boldly. She kept replaying the words she planned on saying to Arthur.
She was also ready for anything he was going to do to her. ‘As long as I leave with a robust bank account.’
She pressed the doorbell and took two steps backwards, waiting for Arthur to open up.
After a few minutes, the door opened and Theo came into sight.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing here, hun?!” He asked angrily, pushing her backward so he could step out and shut the door behind him.
“I’m here to see Arthur.”
“You don’t have to tell me that before I know, okay?! Who else would you be here to see, me?” He asked with a scoff, constantly looking back to make sure Arthur wasn’t coming.
“Can I come in?”
“Are you crazy?! Come in to where? To do what? Do you even like your life at all? Mr. Arthur is going to murder you the minute he lays his eyes on you.”
“Whatever he does to me is none of your business. Let me in. I just want to talk.” Anita insisted.
The boys who were playing in the living room with Theo got bored and wanted him to continue playing with them. So Ryan stood up from the couch and ran to the door.
“Theo! We are already bored!” He yelled as he opened the door. Seeing Anita, his eyes popped wide open and before he could think, he yelled out.
“Daddy, why is Aunty Anita here?!!” He asked, before Theo could block his mouth.
“Shhh! Daddy cannot know she’s here.” Theo uttered, and turned to look at Anita.
“You should leave now. Mr. Arthur isn’t ready to see you.” Theo said to her, and before she could speak up, the door flung open.
“How dare you show your face here?!” Arthur roared, storming towards her. He grabbed her by the neck and pinned her against the wall.
He reeked of alcohol and his breathing grew intense as he applied pressure on Anita’s neck.
“Mr. Arthur! Dad!” Theo and Ryan yelled in terror. While Anita struggled to free herself from his death-threatening grip, Theo grabbed Arthur from behind, trying to stop him.
“Let me go, Theo!” Arthur roared, but Theo refused until Arthur was far away from Anita.
“I am here because I want us to sort things out!” Anita yelled, coughing back to life.
“Sort things out? There’s nothing to sort out! You should never show your face here.” Theo yelled as he held Arthur down.
“Go away! We hate you!” The boys yelled, holding each other fearfully.
“I know you want to get rid of me totally. I’m here to tell you what to do so that you never see my face again.” She uttered, and Arthur scoffed.
“You think I care what you do anymore?! She’s gone! The love of my life is gone! And you think saying this will make any of this better?!” Arthur yelled, struggling to get out of Theo’s grip so he could pounce on her again.
“You can still get her back if you try, I’d tell her that I got rid of the baby or I left. I just need you to do what I want.”
“And if I don’t?!”
“Then you’re going to lose Aurora forever! If you get rid of me, with time, you’ll get her back. I just need some cash from you.” Anita answered, gulping hard.
“Are you insane?! You did all of this because of money?!” Theo asked in shock.
“For money and fun. Yes. I also got to see a part of myself I never thought I had in me. Who would have thought that I could subject myself to severe pain just to come back into your life.”
“What are you talking about?” Arthur asked in confusion, and she walked closer to him.
“Stay back! I’m having a hard time holding him, okay?!”
“That night I came to your place all wounded and at the verge of death. It was all planned. I told Alec to beat me to a pulp so that it would look more real.” She uttered with a smirk.
Arthur’s jaw dropped in anger and frustration. He tried getting out of Theo's grip again, but Theo tightened his grip even more, his hand almost piercing into Arthur’s skin.
“You are a maniac! Why would you do such?!”
“Because I know you’re so soft and sweet and would always want to help even when you don’t have to. I have always had you wrapped around my finger, but I’m done now. Give me Ten Million Dollars, and I’ll be out if my life for good.” She uttered firmly.
“Are you crazy?! Ten million dollars?!” Theo asked in shock.
“That shouldn’t be a problem given that you are stinkingly rich, and I bet you never ever want to see me again. This is a price you have to pay.” She answered with a smirk.
“I had always known you were cheap. I just never knew you were this cheap.” Arthur answered in disgust.
“That’s the problem I have with you rich folks. How is ten million dollars cheap?! Well, I admit it. So are you giving me or what?!” She asked, folding her arms.
“Let me go, Theo.” Arthur said to him, but he shook his head in disagreement.
“You’re drunk, boss. I wouldn’t want you to do something you’re going to regret later.”
“I know what I’m doing, okay?! Let me go!” He smacked, and Theo hastily let go of him.
“And what is going to happen to that thing inside you?” He inquired.
“I’ll get rid of it.” She answered almost immediately.
Arthur stared at her intensely, closing the gap between them. “If I give you what you ask and you don’t do all you’ve said. I promise you that I’ll kill you with thinking twice.” He muttered with gritted teeth.
“Trust me, I am not so interested in you anymore. So just give me the money and let me get out of this country.” She answered, and Arthur bobbed.
“Fine. I’ll give it to you. But Theo is my witness. This won’t happen again because you won’t be alive the next time I set my eyes on you.” Arthur uttered, and she shrugged.
“Yeah. Whatever.” She answered with a smirk.
“Mr. Arthur, are you sure you want to do this? I think it’s best you wait till you’re sober before making any decisions. She could be taking advantage of your condo.” Theo advised worriedly, and Arthur shook his head.
“That is why you’re here with me. You are my witness.” He uttered, and turned to look at Anita. “You better do as you have said. I have my eyes on you.” He responded, and she nodded, still smiling evilly.
“Wait here.” Arthur uttered as he made his way back into the house. Theo followed behind him, looking back at Anita severally.
The boys also entered the house, staring at Arthur like they had seen a stranger. They had never seen him so wild before, but they liked that he was that way to Anita.
“She could be lying, boss. This may be another plan of hers.” Theo warned as he followed behind Arthur.
“I know. And this is also the beginning of my plan too.She would pay for everything she’s done to me and Aurora.” Arthur answered, entering his room so he could get his cheque.
Getting the cheque, he put a call across to one of his business friends.
“I need you to start stalking someone. I’ll send you the details later. And when she wants to leave the country or it looks like she’s about to run away, capture her and leave the rest to me.” He said to him, and hung up.
Stepping out of his room, he met Theo waiting at the door with the kids.
“Are you sure, daddy?” Ryan asked, and Arthur nodded firmly. “I’ll do anything to get your mother back. I promise.” He assured them, and they nodded in trust.
He got out of the house and walked back to where Anita waited for him. “Here. This is what you requested.” He uttered, stretching the cheque to her.
She took it from him and smiled widely, nodding her head after she counted the zeros. She looked at his face and smiled.
“Goodbye, Arthur.” She said to him and walked past him as she headed to the gate.
“That is it?” Theo asked, and he shrugged.
“Leave the rest to me.” Arthur answered, entering the house again so he could continue drinking.
“Carter!” Derick called as he entered the room where Carter laid.
“Yes, baby.” Carter answered, turning to look at him.
“I just got off the phone with Theo, and he told me Arthur is drinking again.” Derick informed him, and Carter heaved a sigh.
“I saw it coming. I knew he’d end up getting depressed and would turn to Alcohol for help. What do we do?” Carter asked worriedly, as Derick laid on the bed and cuddled Carter.
“I have no idea. I don’t think we can do anything about this because he keeps pushing us away. The only way to get him back to his normal self is for Aurora to get back with him, which is impossible right now.”
“They are both messed up.” Carter added, and Derick nodded in agreement.
“I still can’t believe Aurora completely shut me out of her life too. She ignored my calls and concerned texts. I thought we were very good friends.”
“You are still very good friends, okay? You just need to understand that Aurora isn’t herself right now and she needs space from everyone. She’ll eventually reach out to you, okay?”
“I hope so. I just want her to be fine. I want her to know I’m here for her.”
“Carter, stop worrying, okay? Since the wedding, we’ve hardly said anything about us. It has always been about Arthur and Aurora. I know they are our friends and we care about them so much, but can we focus on ourselves for the rest of the day? I miss you so much.” Derick mumbled, reaching for Carter’s face.
With their eyes locked, Carter moved his face closer to Derick’s until their lips touched.
Without hesitation, Derick got on top of Carter, causing him to chuckle.
“Why are you in a haste?” Carter asked in awe.
“I want to cease the opportunity I have now before we go back to talking about Aurora.”
“But..”
“Shhh! Not now, baby. Big daddy wants to feel your warmth.” Derick uttered, capturing his lips in his mouth again.
