Chapter 101:
Chapter 103:
Pythia POV:
The room stood still as we all thought about the words that were just said. “Hold on, she has to go over there?” Jackson questioned, it was clear he was not okay with this idea. “Yes, she does. All of you are welcomed to come as witnesses but I will have no fighting.” Athea replied sternly. “I will go.” I announced standing on my feet. It was high time I came face to face with my mother. “So will I.” Leia said standing next to me. “If you two think you’re going without us then you both are insane.” Brandon nearly growled. “Looks like we are all going.” Alley announced. Her shoulders were tense but all of us were at this point. We had two weeks to get everything we needed before an all out war started. To a normal person two weeks is a good time, but in reality to us, it was not. I was exhausted, anxious and didn’t know what was going to happen in all honesty. “Do not worry, nothing will happen.” Athea said as she looked around but I knew it was more so for me.
She had a way of reassuring all of us without it being noticeable. The air around us started to shift, and I closed my eyes only to open them at the sounds of gasps. I looked around the dingy room until my eyes fell upon a pair that were so similar to my own. “Daughter.” My mother said with a slick smile. “Devil.” I replied, giving no emotion to her at all. That was the thing with her, it was like she fed off of emotions. “And who might you be?” Hervouxs nearly purred out as he drank in Atheas appearance. I wanted to gag honestly. “I am the moon goddess, although you probably won’t realize it since you worship Eli.” Athea replied in a calm voice that made chills run down my spine.
His eyes widened slightly, “I hear a challenge has been called and I am here to not only acknowledge it but make sure that it happens.” Athea added before they could respond. “What happens if I decide to change my mind?” Hervoux asked. “Then you will die, once I bless this there is no going back and you’ve already agreed. Should you not show.. Your heart will slow until it stops. You will feel the air evaporate from your very body until you are nothing but dust for the wind to collect.” Athea replied. With each word she spoke her voice became more demanding, the air shifted around us and for a moment I held my breath. “ I, Athea, moon goddess of this world hereby bless, acknowledge and agree to the challenge made from Ambrosia, queen of the vampires to Hervoux, leader of the vampires oversea.” Athea finally said. Her voice boomed out and I could see fear across his eyes as she spoke.
I took notice of the room, the huge man was backed into a corner, not really knowing what was happening while my mother was in a dead stare at me. “Can I help you?” I snapped, annoyed that she looked mad. “I’ll be seeing you soon.” Pamela whispered. Before I could even reply I was back in our meeting room. “Now that it is settled I’d like to introduce you all to someone..” Athea announced and we all looked at each other. When the doors opened we all turned to see Lillith standing there with Xander only Xander was holding a child. “What the hell..?” I whispered as I walked over. Whose child is this? I looked between them and back at the boy and gasped. “..How?” I asked. “Who is it?” Tye asked. My eyes were locked on the boy who looked lifeless in Xanders arms. “Even though we are not supposed to help or interfere in any way.. Lucinda and I hatched a little plan and put it in motion..” Athea giggled. “Can someone explain?” Jackson asked, looking around.
Lucinda cleared her throat and I looked at her with wide eyes, “This is Elii. Well the child they are calling Eli. Just to be clear, we didn’t interfere.. We gave an idea and Lillith and Xander did it. In order for the playing field to be even, this child needed to be removed. Now you need to break whatever spell he is under and cut the link between him and your mother.” Lucinda said as she looked around. When she spoke the last part her eyes fell on me. “Your mother was never stronger than you and you know it. What she is doing is feeding off this childs soul and taking his power and mixing it with hers. She is strong without him, you need to save him.” Lucinda whispered. “I will finish the process for your brother Stephen, and his little pack. You all have bigger things to work on because you only have two weeks.” Athea added before she disappeared. I was left in utter shock. How did this even happen? When was this plan put into place? “Go put him in a room and come back. I want to know every single detail.” I finally said turning around.
Did my mother know he was gone? Would this speed up the battle that is to come? We needed to prepare for anything and everything at this point. I looked over at Tye and I swear he could read my mind. “You guys handle this, we will go get everyone ready. It’s time to train longer, and harder.” Tye announced as he kissed my forehead before he walked out. Leia turned to me and smiled. “I suppose we have some work to do.” I muttered. I turned and walked into to the room where they placed Eli. Lillith was sitting on the edge of the bed staring at him. As I walked closer I took in his features a little more. He had the same jet black hair and his skin was pale. He looked malnourished which pushed my mind further into him not knowing what is going on. “I wonder where his mom is.” I whispered. “I think you should do a locator spell, when he was in that room.. There were bones under some clothes. I don’t know who they belonged to. Do you remember your aunt at all?” Lillith questioned and I shook my head.
A lot of that I chose to block out because it wasn’t great memories. “I don’t even know who his father is.” I spoke. I sat down on the bed and placed my hand on his forehead. He was cold to the touch but I could see beads of sweat forming. “She said your mother is feeding off of his soul, I know I’ve read a book about it before. If memory serves me right then you will have to head dive and use your light.” Lillith said looking over at me. I knew there were things I’ve yet to learn or control and I honestly wasn’t confident enough to be able to do that. What if something happened? I hung my head and shook it. “I don’t know if I can do that right now. With AJ needing me to help him, I am drained Lillith.” I whispered. It’s not often that I admit to my own weakness but this was not something I could hide. “You don’t need to worry about AJ. Come my queen.” Lucinda said holding her hand out to me. “Where are we going?” I asked.
She smiled but didn’t say anything as she pushed the doors open. “Lillith is right. Your light can do so much.. You remember when we were training and you healed Tye with your light?” Lucinda questioned tilting her head to the side. I nodded but didn’t speak. Lucinda looked down at AJ and smiled wide at his confused face. “Hello AJ, my sister will be fixing your memories soon enough but for now.. Are you ready to be healed?” Lucinda asked. “Yes ma’am. No offense Pythia but you look like crap and this is brutal.” AJ muttered, making me laugh. “No offense taken. Tell me what to do.” I said looking at her. “It isn’t a matter of me telling you what to do my dear. You already know. Have faith in yourself, you can do this.” Lucinda replied squeezing my hands. I rolled my shoulders back and looked at AJ. “I don’t think this will hurt, if it does then you have my apologies.” I whispered.
I placed both my hands on his chest and concentrated. I could feel my fingers start to tingle, the more I pictured cleansing him the easier it was becoming. I felt him start to shake but when I opened my eyes I looked down to see him smiling. I could see the wolfsbane evaporating and the cuts we had made started to close up and heal. When our eyes met, we were both smiling ear to ear. Why did I not think of this before.. All of a sudden I felt exhausted and the last thing I heard before darkness took me was my name being called out.
