The council
Alpha Ken Point of View:

I sighed softly as I dropped the glass of wine. I couldn't explain why my heart was troubled. After searching deeply, I realized that Sicilia was the reason.

If I was being truthful, I didn't hate Sicilia when I first saw her. I was rather amazed by her strange aura and carefree behavior. Unfortunately, when I found out that she was a relative of Elder William, that made me lose interest in her.

William and I can be described as oil and water, we don't mix. William's grandfather was the first Alpha of the Northern pack. I don't know what happened, but my mother, who is the She-wolf, defeated him in a fight and made his daughter, William's mother, stand in Alpha. I was just a baby then and I couldn't rule, but when I graduated from college, I took over from her.

I guess Willam had always been intimidated by my victory, he left the pack to God knows where and later came back, claiming the position of an Epsilon because of his mother's influence. I'd always felt like he had an evil plan, and he never for once proved me wrong, that's why I hated his family or anything that had to do with him. But with Sicilia, things just felt different, and I wanted to get to know her better. I couldn't explain why, but whenever I felt this way, it meant there was something special hidden somewhere.

'I can't possibly catch feelings for her. It's just not possible!’ I muttered and stood up, pacing around the room anxiously. I didn't even notice when Gamma Enoch and Beta Victor entered.

“You look restless, what happened to you? Did you bump into your mother?” Enoch asked, his voice filled with sarcasm.

I gave him a gaze that would make him question his existence on earth and hissed. “What are you guys doing here? Do you plan to pressure me into getting married, again?” I asked with scorn.

Enoch scoffed, “I ain't pressuring you to do anything. And you should know I prefer you unmarried,” he replied with a smile.

“Unmarried?” Victor mumbled under his breath. Sometimes I wondered if Victor was in love with me because of the strange way he acted. He seemed to be forcing me to get married, and on the other hand, he disliked seeing me with my mistresses. Not that I care though.

“Whatever! Why are you here?” I asked.

“Don't you want us here?” Enoch asked with a pouty lip.

I sneered at him and pushed the tray of cupcakes to his side, “Eat to your heart's contentment and go back to your duty.”

“Oh come on Ken! Do you actually see me as a foodie? I have zero interest in your cupcakes or the tray! They can all go to hell for all I care!” Enoch replied, but a few seconds after those words left his lips, he took a bite from the cupcake. He chewed for a minute, savoring the taste, “I must say, these taste better than the regular cupcakes I eat!”

“Really?” Victor looked surprised at Enoch's comment, and he also took a bite. “Huh?” His eyes widened in surprise, “Who made this? It tastes so heavenly,” he remarked.

“The new maid,” I replied curtly.

“The new maid? As in family to that dick head, William?” Victor asked with arched brows, while Enoch continued savoring the sweetness of the cakes.

“Without mentioning the ‘dick-head’ part, I understand what you’re trying to say about William, Victor,” I answered calmly, and Victor flashed his ugly teeth at me.

I sighed and sat down on a couch. “Anyway, you guys haven't answered my question. What are you doing here?” I asked once again.

Enoch dropped the cupcake in his hands, and his face turned serious. “Ken, I know we've discussed this topic before, but I think it's high time we properly clear the air,” he began gently.

“Okay, what are you talking about?” I asked, and my eyes fell on Enoch, then back at Victor, who pushed his eyeglasses to his nose, grimacing.

“Ken, we need to join forces with the other packs. We wouldn't survive as an island. The demons, witches, and vampires are planning something evil, if we don't have supporters, we might get blown out,” Enoch explained with a serious expression. “Also, I think you should make friends with the other Lunas and Alphas. How bad can they be?” He asked rhetorically.

I was angry earlier, but on hearing his words, I became furious. “Make friends? Join forces with the other packs? Can you even hear yourself, Enoch? You know that I have never stepped foot outside the North, yet you are telling me to join forces with strangers.”

“Ken, I am simply looking out for you. Also, what type of Alpha are you if you don't venture outside your borders?” Enoch didn't look like he would back down any moment.

Victor stood in a corner, quietly observing what was happening.

I knew Enoch was right. Deep down, I needed to meet the other pack leaders, but my mother trained me to be an island, and I believed that I didn't need anyone's assistance.

The supernatural creatures {Demons, witches, vampires} are coming together to wipe out the werewolves race, and take over our lands.

I once heard that the wolves are searching for the one who can help defeat the enemies, they call her/him The True Alpha or Luna. But it's been years since they started their search, yet no sign of this ‘True wolf’. When I first heard about it, it sounded stupid and funny to me. I mean why bother searching for a wolf, when you can come together and defeat the enemies? But after witnessing my strongest warriors lost in a battle against demons, I knew we needed something miraculous.

The demons, witches, and vampires were now allies, and together they've conquered a lot of packs, it's a matter of time before they reach the North. My mother is a She-wolf, so it wasn't hard to convince my subjects that I would protect them against our enemies. The only thing I found difficult was coming up with a lie to convince Enoch that I had this under control.

“Are you in control? Or are you just deceiving yourself and your pack members?” Enoch asked with raised brows.

I paused momentarily, thinking about how to answer him, but I couldn't convince myself with my lies let alone someone else.

“What do you want from me, Enoch?” I asked.

Enoch smiled broadly, “It's simple. Let's attend the annual werewolf convention taking place in the East. We'll be able to meet and connect with the other werewolves.”

PS:
An Epsilon: is an intelligent wolf, they can also be referred to as an elder.
