Chapter 122 Is This How You Think of Me?

Charles frowned slightly, looking somewhat hurt: "Olivia, that's not what I meant."

"Not what you meant?" Olivia asked coldly with a sneer, her voice growing icier. "Then what did you mean? Are you going to stand up for me and confront Cody about how I've been wronged? Or are you going to tell me that he's your family, and if I want to stay by your side, I have to maintain proper dignity and forget about the past?"

"Charles, no matter how hard I try to forget what happened before, no matter how hard I try to maintain dignity, I'll never be dignified enough. No matter how our arrangement changes, it doesn't change the fact that I'm your mistress and you'll never marry me."

"If I were part of the Green family, if I were one of your people, I'd look down on your mistress, too. I don't blame others for seeing me this way—after all, I am just a mistress. A mistress who can be used by anyone. Even lower than a regular mistress."

"Olivia, is this really how you see me? After how I've treated you lately... this is what you think of me?"

Charles gripped Olivia's hand tightly, the hurt in his eyes even deeper than before, as if he'd suffered some terrible misunderstanding.

If this were two people in love, such hurt would make the other person's heart ache.

When Olivia saw it, she only felt it was absurd and ridiculous.

What was he trying to pull?

Hurt?

He was the one who started all this and controlled everything. Everything had gone according to his wishes—what did he have to feel hurt about?

Olivia didn't want to deal with Charles. After trying several times to shake off his hand without success, she simply gave up, stopped walking, turned her head away, and stood there in a standoff with Charles.

Neither of them spoke, and neither left.

They just stood there locked in a stalemate, neither willing to back down.

The sound of a phone camera went off. Both looked over to see Cody in the Rolls-Royce holding up his phone at them.

Seeing them look his way, Cody smiled and lowered his phone: "You two shooting a TV drama or something?"

Olivia's expression grew even uglier.

Charles wasn't in a great mood either. He frowned at Cody, displeasure in his eyes.

Not only did Cody show no fear, but he also smiled and pushed open the door, got out of the car, and walked toward them with his hands in his pockets.

He stopped about three feet away from them, looking Olivia up and down like examining merchandise. With a smirk, he looked at Charles:

"I used to think you were just playing around with this woman, but now it looks like you're getting more and more hooked. Aren't you afraid she'll actually kill you one day?"

"I heard that two or three months ago, you almost died at this woman's hands, and you still keep her around. You really are reckless—got some nerve, I'll give you that."

Olivia didn't want to listen to these two argue and struggled to free her wrist.

Charles's grip on her wrist only tightened.

"Rhys."

He stopped looking at Cody and called Rhys over, instructing him to take Cody back.

"Mr. Green, please."

Cody didn't want to leave.

Three years ago, the Green family had gone through a crisis. According to the line of succession, he should have been the one to take charge of the Green Group.

But just a few days into the job, he was nearly eaten alive by the major shareholders of the Green Group.

He asked Tatum for help, originally hoping Tatum would protect him, but within days, Tatum brought back Robert.

Because he hadn't received a proper education growing up, Robert didn't understand many things—in some ways, he was even worse than Cody.

But there was one thing Cody couldn't match—Robert had plenty of ways to deal with those old shareholders at the Green Group who relied on their seniority.

To help him better take over the Green Group, Tatum arranged a full year of training for him.

Just hearing about the curriculum and schedule gave Cody a headache, but Robert got through it.

After a year of training, almost no one doubted he was Charles anymore.

Because of all this, Cody hated Charles.

But his hatred was useless. Apart from a few sarcastic remarks, there was nothing else he could do.

The only reason Charles kept tolerating him without making a move was out of respect for Tatum's position and authority.

If Tatum died one day...

He didn't even know if he could continue living this pathetic existence.

Charles grabbed Olivia's wrist and walked toward the Rolls-Royce, not sparing Cody another glance.

Rhys said nothing more either, taking Cody by the arm and dragging him toward his own car.

"What are you doing? Let go of me. You're just a servant, you can't treat me like this, I..." Cody struggled.

Rhys increased the force on his arm: "Mr. Cody Green, you should know Mr. Charles Green's temper. You'd better behave and not make things hard on yourself."

Cody didn't dare struggle anymore and could only let Rhys drag him into the car and take him away.

Charles pushed Olivia into the back seat, leaned in to fasten her seatbelt, closed the door, then walked around to the other side and got in.

The driver sensibly started the engine and drove away from the train station.

Throughout the ride, neither of them spoke. The car fell into a deathly silence.

In the past, faced with such situations, Olivia would feel nervous and afraid. But now...

Maybe it was because she'd spent so much time with Charles, or maybe because her parents had already left Silverlight City—even if Charles wanted to threaten her with them, he wouldn't be able to find them right away. She felt surprisingly calm.

If Charles wasn't going to talk, she just leaned back against the seat, tilting her head to watch the scenery flying past the window.

"Stop the car."

Charles suddenly spoke.

The driver paused for a moment, found the nearest parking spot, stopped the car, and got out without a word.

The car door opened and closed.

The moment it closed, Charles unbuckled his seatbelt, grabbed Olivia's chin, and leaned down over her.

It happened so suddenly that Olivia instinctively raised her hands to block him. After Charles grabbed her hands and pinned them aside, she simply gave up, closed her eyes, and let Charles kiss her.

After kissing her for a while, Charles released her slightly and lifted himself up a bit.

Olivia kept her eyes closed, waiting for Charles's next move.

After waiting a while and seeing that Charles hadn't moved, she reached up to pull at her own clothes.

"What are you doing?"

Charles's voice was full of surprise.

Olivia opened her eyes in confusion: "What do you mean by what am I doing? Don't you want to fuck me? I'm taking off my clothes myself so you can fuck me however you want."

With that, she pulled at her clothes even harder.

The corners of her mouth were still curved in a smile.

But that smile... looked worse than crying, and it made Charles's heart ache terribly.

"Olivia," he held her hands, buttoning up each button she'd undone one by one, then straightened her clothes for her. "I'm sorry."
