Chapter 121: Why Are You Here?

Compared to taking down Charles or getting revenge on him, running away was obviously a much safer option.

The last time she and David tried to escape and failed, the main reason was that both their parents were in Silverlight City.

Now David and his parents had already left, and if her own parents left too, she would be the only one remaining in Silverlight City.

As long as she found the right opportunity, escaping on her own would be much easier.

Theodora wasn't too keen on going when she saw Olivia wasn't coming along, but after Olivia's persuasion, she agreed.

Olivia immediately started packing things for her parents.

"Olivia, there's no need to rush like this."

While packing, Olivia said, "It's been so long since you've seen them, don't you miss them? Besides, if you go earlier, it shows how much you miss them and how much you respect them."

"Oh, you." Theodora pointed at Olivia helplessly. "I get it, I understand you're sending your dad and me on a trip to visit relatives and friends. People who don't know better might think you're sick of us and trying to get rid of us."

Theodora joked with a complaining tone.

She didn't mean anything by it, but that last sentence made Olivia's eyes well up with tears.

It wasn't that she was getting rid of them, but it was close enough.

After they left, as long as David saw her message, he would definitely find a way to keep them from returning to Silverlight City.

She believed in his abilities.

She planned to go find them, but that was only if things went smoothly.

If things didn't go well, if she couldn't escape no matter what, she didn't know when she'd see her parents again.

Even worse, this might be the last time they'd spend together.

The more Olivia thought about it, the more upset she became.

She bit her lip hard, trying to suppress the sadness and despair in her heart, not letting her parents notice anything unusual.

After finishing the packing and tidying up the house, the next morning, Olivia drove Quincy and Theodora to the train station.

"Mom, have a good time when you get there, don't worry about me. I'll take good care of myself."

"Mom, you and Dad must take care of your health. If anything comes up, you can call David directly. Even though David and I are divorced, we're still friends."

"Mom, I put a bank card in the inner compartment of the suitcase. There's some money in there, feel free to use it."

Olivia kept going on and on like a mother sending her child away to another city.

At first, Theodora listened with a helpless smile, but when she heard the last part, her expression changed. "What are you doing, giving us money? Your dad and I have money. We don't need yours."

With that, Theodora started to open the suitcase.

"Mom, don't do that. They're about to call for boarding. You and Dad should get on the train quickly, don't miss it."

Olivia pushed Theodora and Quincy toward the station entrance.

Watching them board the train, which slowly started to move, then went faster and faster until it disappeared from view, Olivia finally settled down.

"Dad, Mom, you must be well."

'I will definitely come find you when the time comes.'

'As long as I have one last breath in me, I will come find you.'

'If I really can't make it...'

Tears fell from the corners of Olivia's eyes.

She bit her lip hard:

Please forget about me, help each other, and finish out this difficult life together.

Her parents had already experienced the pain of losing a child once. If she died too...

They would definitely have a hard time accepting it.

But no matter how hard it was to accept, they'd have to accept it.

Compared to their difficulty accepting it, what she couldn't accept even more was her parents risking their lives for her, or her parents dying while she continued living in misery..

Train stations, like airports, are places that have witnessed countless separations and reunions.

Not many people paid attention to someone quietly crying there.

Even those who did notice just glanced and walked away.

Olivia stood at the train station for quite a while. She only started walking out when her phone rang.

The call was from Charles.

Olivia answered.

"What is it?"

"It really is you."

Charles's voice, clearly filled with pleasant surprise, came through the phone, but Olivia's body suddenly froze.

What he meant by that was...

She instinctively turned around and saw Charles hanging up the phone and walking toward her from not far away.

Olivia unconsciously clenched her fingers. "Why are you here?"

"At first I thought I was seeing things, but it really is you."

Charles smiled as he walked up to Olivia, reached out to touch her hair, and looked at her tenderly for several moments before answering her question. "Following orders from my elders, I came to pick someone up. What about you? Why are you here?"

Olivia didn't want to tell Charles the truth, but her parents' leaving—it was better if it came from her mouth than from someone else's.

That way, he wouldn't think too much about it.

"Seeing my parents off. They're going to another city to visit relatives." Olivia lowered her head glumly. "It'll be a long time before I see them again."

Charles raised his hand again to stroke her hair. "It's okay, I'll be here with you."

Olivia was speechless.

She didn't agree, but neither did she say anything to contradict him.

Charles didn't say anything more. His hand slid down and naturally took Olivia's hand, leading her outside while asking:

"How did you get here?"

"I drove."

"Do you want to come back with me, or drive back yourself?"

"I'll drive myself. The car needs to be driven back..."

Olivia stared at the man sitting in the back seat of the Rolls-Royce not far away, and quickly stopped talking.

Charles followed her gaze and saw Cody sitting in his car.

Cody was originally supposed to come before Christmas. Charles had even gone to the train station to pick him up, but then Tatum changed his mind and told him to come after the New Year instead.

So he had no choice but to come today.

"You get in the car, I'm leaving."

Olivia forcefully pulled her gaze back, turned, and walked toward her own car.

Charles grabbed her wrist, his eyes fixed on her. "You really hate Cody?"

"It would be weird if I didn't hate him, wouldn't it?" Olivia found his question ridiculous.

"The first time we met, he forced me to change into a bar girl's outfit to see you, and made me choose between two options. Later, when I tried to use him against you, he sold me out directly, and you played that video of me naked in front of my boss and colleagues."

"Everything related to him is my humiliation. It's normal that I hate him."

Olivia shook off Charles's hand, looking at him with obvious coldness in her eyes.

Her gaze had been cold toward him before, but now she wasn't hiding it at all.

"I know what you're thinking. Don't worry, I'm not stupid enough to try a third time after failing once or twice. I also know that even if you like me, you wouldn't tolerate a woman trying to kill you again and again. Not even true love would work, let alone our kind of relationship."

"You know me—I value my life. I won't do anything stupid again."
