Chapter 59 BOSS ARRIVED

Chapter 59 BOSS ARRIVED
Nelly grabbed Giselle by the hair, dragging and yanking as screams tore from Giselle’s throat.

“How dare you touch my stuff!” Nelly yelled and Giselle laughed.

It sounded manic, soothing and disturbing at the same time.

“You should separate them,” Henry whispered into Carter’s ear. “Help the girls.” Carter scoffed.

Getting involved in their little quarrel was beneath him. Women should settle their own differences, that was the raw truth.

Besides, he knew Giselle would win. So he leaned back in his chair, irritated, lighting a cigarette. Smoke curled into the air as he watched them rip at each other’s clothes.

His gaze flickered to Henry, who was also watching the women.

Carter had never suspected Giselle of cheating, but at the party, something had felt off. Something small: subtle, tugging at his instincts, whispering that something was wrong.

Henry’s eyes met his....Neither looked away.

Finally, the girls separated, panting, glaring daggers at each other.

Carter noticed Henry’s gaze drift, landing on Giselle’s exposed chest.

Carter’s eyes darkened instantly. He stood and strode toward Giselle, towering over her.

“Are you okay?” he asked.

A slow, angry sigh escaped her lips.

“No! How are you even asking that?” she yelled, pounding her fists against his chest.
He didn’t stop her. He knew she needed to release the rage. A soft smile tugged at his lips.

But then Henry moved toward her.

Carter reacted instantly, pulling Giselle into a possessive hug.

Henry froze and stepped back, turning instead to Nelly, draping his jacket over her shoulders.

“Let’s go,” Henry said quietly, guiding her away.

Nelly paused half-way, glancing back at Carter. She truly wondered what he saw in Giselle.

“Let’s go,” Carter repeated, placing his jacket over Giselle.

She covered herself and got into the car. Carter drove off immediately.

“You didn’t help me,” Giselle muttered, staring out the window.

“I wanted you to calm down,” Carter replied. “Besides, I knew you’d win.”

She turned to him, furious, but instead of exploding, she pouted. She wanted to bully someone for what happened tonight, but the scandal forced her to act normala and lay low now.

She slipped on her black shades and pulled his cap low. She couldn’t afford to be recognized.

“Where are we going?” she asked.

“Home,” Carter said, making a sharp U-turn.
Giselle stared out the window. Her lashes trembled, she couldn't still believe it, her perfect life was crumbling.

Freya crossed her mind.

That night, someone had hit her with a bat.
Could it be her who was behind this?

Her eyes widened as she turned to Carter....

Screech!

The car came to a sudden halt. Giselle wasn’t wearing her seatbelt. Her body lurched forward, her face hitting the dashboard. Blood trickled from her lip.

She licked it, her fists clenching. She turned to Carter, but froze.

His eyes were fixed ahead, terror etched across his face. “What’s wrong?” she asked, following his gaze.

.....and froze.

“Boss,” she whispered.

Sweat broke out across her forehead. Her lips went dry as she pressed them together.

A car blocked the road. In front of it stood a woman, leaning casually against her Lamborghini, legs crossed, inspecting her nails.

“Bring them out,” the woman said.

Four large men approached, yanking Giselle and Carter out of the car.

“Boss,” Giselle said shakily. “What a surprise… you’re back.” Her voice was sharp, but fear trembled beneath her pretense.

The woman smiled and stepped closer.

“When did you get back?” Giselle asked.

The woman reached for Giselle’s hair, stroking it softly....Giselle trembled.

Then the grip tightened: hard.

“What the hell did you get yourself into?” the woman snapped.

“Don’t hurt her!” Carter shouted.

The woman shot him a venomous glare. “If you had kept your fiancée on a leash, this wouldn’t have happened.”

Carter laughed bitterly. “Stop acting like our boss.”

He reached for her hand, ripping it away from Giselle’s hair. The silhouette figure eyes darkened.

“Stop,” Giselle whispered urgently to Carter, but he ignored her.

“What are you scared of?” he asked. Before he could say more, the woman yanked Giselle by the wrist, slamming her against her.

“Who did you offend?” she demanded.

Giselle stared at her like she’d seen a ghost, lashes trembling.

“I… I really don’t know who,” she stammered.

The woman scoffed, running a hand through her hair. “I rushed down here because of you—you know that, right?”

“It’s not serious,” Giselle rushed out. “I’m handling it.”

The woman arched a brow. “A low profile. That’s what I fucking told you.”

“It’s should just be someone I bullied in the past,” Giselle said dismissively. “They’re acting childish.”

The woman smiled slowly.....She knew better.

Whoever was doing this wasn’t an amateur.
She turned her gaze to Giselle, her pawn.

“Since I’m already here,” she said calmly, “I might as well help you.”

Giselle’s eyes lit up.

“Really?”

“Leave before I change my mind.” Giselle squealed softly, rushing forward to hug her.

The woman shoved her away and walked back to her car. Giselle watched her leave, her eyes darkening.

“Why the fuck is she back?” Carter asked and Giselle scoffed.

“To boss us around,” she muttered. “To feel on top.”

UNKNOWN LOCATION

“Did you do it?” Henry asked.

Nelly froze.

She had been pacing nonstop, but at his question, she stopped abruptly.

“I didn’t,” she muttered.

Henry raised a brow. For some reason, he felt she was lying, but he chose to ignore it.

“You shouldn’t try to get on Giselle’s bad side,” he warned.

Nelly stiffened, staring straight into his eyes. Something flickered in her gaze, but she masked it quickly, turning away and gripping her phone tighter.

“It’s because you like her, right?” she asked.

Henry froze. The air around him tightened. “It’s not that,” he muttered.

A laugh slipped from Nelly’s lips. “You can’t hide it. Don’t lie.”

He turned fully toward her, staring at her as his lashes fluttered.

“It’s so obvious,” Nelly continued. “Even she notices.”

She paused, leaning closer. “She just hasn’t found you useful enough to use you yet.”
Henry’s fist clenched tightly. His lips parted to speak...

Screeeech!

A car pulled up suddenly.

Cash stepped out. “Don’t you guys know?” she asked, walking toward them.

Nelly’s brows furrowed.

“Know what?”

Cash shoved her phone toward them.

“Boss is back,” she said sharply. “This is bad.”
