Chapter 60 RESCUING THE KIDS!
Aaron’s POV
“Tee, you take the sewer,” I said, trailing my finger over the blueprints of the building where Kalton kept the kids.
“Teddy, you take the back door,” I added.
Then I turned to Diego, who was busy watching a video on his phone and laughing like a maniac.
“You,” I gestured.
Diego’s grin slowly faded. He licked his lips in clear displeasure and walked toward me.
“You shoot the Barrett M82 / M107 sniper gun,” I said. “Stay hidden in the tree next to the building.”
Diego froze.
“Boss, I’m bad at shooting!” he cried out yet a small, authoritative smile curved my lips.
“Well, you better not fvck us up today.”
I knew damn well he could handle a sniper rifle. Diego was an ex-military, skilled, precise. He had been framed, stripped of his honor and rank. All he wanted now was out of this mission .Something I wasn’t ready to give him.
“It’s been so long since I last used a gun,” he muttered. I froze.
The last time he had used one, he’d been badly injured: saving me then. He thought I was just a civilian back then. That was only a few months ago.
My smile widened.
“I really can’t—"
I placed a firm hand on his shoulder. “I believe in you. Even if you don’t believe in yourself… you fvcking have especially now!"
I applied pressure to his old wound. He stiffened, then a small smile tugged at my lips.
“You take the—” I said gesturing to the others
Soon, everyone was armed and ready, weapons loaded and checked.
I reached into my pocket and texted Erica.
"We’re all set. You?" No reply. She wasn’t online.
A sigh escaped my lips. Even if she wasn’t responding, Erica wouldn’t miss this for the world.
I moved toward the underground cemented wall and gently shifted the curtain aside. Water dripped endlessly against the walls. I placed my left hand on the surface, closing my eyes to feel it: wet, cold, damp.
It was raining.
“It’s raining. Don’t slip,” I announced and everyone nodded.
I pulled the mask over my face, licked my lips, and stepped into the underground passage. At least ten men followed me. Kalton was an amateur, five of my men would be enough to take him down, but I never believed in too little. Besides I wanted to watch him break.
Outside, the rain poured like the gods themselves were angry at the blood we were about to spill. It soaked our gear, clung to our skin.
“Move.”
I got into the front car. The smartest move wasn’t a direct approach. Even if Kalton had lowered security, which I doubted, this could easily be a trap. I had to be careful. Kalton lived to provoke me.
I didn’t want the kids harmed. Not even a scratch.
“Aouth-east Caprino Forest, Route 13,” my man said, staring at the navigation.
“Split,” I ordered.
The other cars turned off while I continued straight ahead. I wanted the first entrance.
Finally, I exhaled.
There it was.....
The abandoned hospital: demolished years ago. Kalton had bought it back when my papi made me leader of the Ink Clan. I still remembered the disgust and anger on his face.
)FLASHBACK – YEARS AGO)
“AARON,” Papi called.
I stood unmoved, my jaw clenched, my gaze locked on my stepbrother.
“What?” Kalton snapped. A smirk tugged at my lips. I wanted him angry.
“How did he get it? I’m useful too and I deserve it more!” Kalton shouted, glaring at me like I was his sworn enemy.
I stayed silent until Papi turned to me. “Take the gun,” he said gently. “You deserve it.”
I moved.
The gun was the Ink Clan heirloom, passed down through generations of the Knight mafia family.
“I won’t accept that!” Kalton yelled, blocking my path. “That spot is mine!”
I looked down at him, an amused smile curling my lips.
“Move.”
Papi didn’t interfere. He wanted to see what I would do. Kalton reached for his weapon.
So did I.
We fired at the same time. I dodged, slid sideways, hooked his leg, and sent him crashing to the ground. My gun pressed to his skull instantly.
“Unskilled,” I spat.
I wanted to pull the trigger. God! The hatred i had from the bastard was deep in my bones, but then Papi stood, clapping.
“Bravissimo,” he said, placing the gun fully into my hands.
“See? He’s better.” he placed his hand on his shoulder, Kalton shoved Papi’s hands away and stormed off in rage.
(BACK TO PRESENT)
My thoughts snapped back as a gun swung toward me. Shit. I had spaced out.
The first shot fired.
I shoved the man beside me away and fired back.
Bam. Bam.
The bullet tore through the attacker’s body. He dropped from the terrance to the ground...
Instant chaos. It alerted the others instantly. Kalton had made us find the place easily, but his defense was strong.
“Amateur,” I muttered. Even wth this defense, I can still bread over it. It's why they called me "Death!"
I fired again, narrowly past by my female fighter..just inches from her pupils, but the bullet buried itself in one of Kalton’s men behind her. She froze, bowed her head in respect, then charged forward with daggers in hand.
Another shot.
It pierced a man’s heart from behind. He collapsed into his own blood.
Then my jaw tightened. Is spotted the figure
Erica.
She was already there. Dressed in shorts, leather jacket, her hair tied in a ponytail, gothic makeup on... sharp and deadly.
Of course. She always looked had to look like a queen when she was about to kill.
I should have thoughts that she was doing too much.
Instead, I smiled. She looked fvcking beautiful at this second.
I followed her.
She slipped through a dark alley. The route was too quiet. Then...A hand grabbed my shoulder.
I twisted, dragged the attacker forward, and threw her over my shoulder but she wrapped her legs around my neck, choking hard.
I held firm, grabbed her collar, and slammed her down.
I raised my gun-
Then stopped.
Erica stepped into view, licking the blood from the corner of her lips. I lowered my weapon and strode to her, gripping her chin.
“Are you hurt?” I asked.
She smiled, her teeth stained red.
“Testing how good of a fighter you are,” she replied.
A smile curved my lips. “Don’t try that again,” I muttered.
"Are you worried about me?" She asked, her pupils burying deep into mine... I looked away.
She only smiled wider. “Let’s go meet your brother,” she said.
My jaw clenched, it made my eyes glistened. A chuckle escaped my lips and I averted my gaze back at her.
That smile on her face...It was the devil’s.
“You want to play?” I asked.
“Of course,” she replied. “I need to stab someone.” she said staring at her fair hands with delight.
My heart skipped: literally.
She looked so gorgeous now!
