Chapter 201 Chapter 201
It had been a week since the dinner party. Even though Savannah smiled and tried to act normal, something inside her didn’t feel right.
That morning, she woke up feeling weak. Her head felt heavy, and her stomach was turning. She tried to sit up quietly so she wouldn’t wake Adrian, but her hands shook.
She went to the bathroom, splashed water on her face, and looked in the mirror. She looked pale and tired. “What is wrong with me?” she whispered to herself.
She took a deep breath and went downstairs to make breakfast. But the moment she opened the fridge, the smell of food made her rush to the sink and throw up.
Rose, the maid, ran into the kitchen. “Madam! Are you okay?”
Savannah wiped her mouth and smiled weakly. “I’m fine, Rose. Maybe it’s something I ate last night.”
Rose looked worried. “Please rest a little, ma’am.”
Savannah nodded but still continued to set the table. Soon after, Adrian came downstairs carrying Liam in his arms.
“Good morning, my beautiful wife,” he said with a bright smile, kissing her cheek.
Savannah forced a smile. “Good morning.”
Adrian studied her face closely. “You look pale. Are you sure you’re okay?”
“Yes,” she said quickly. “Just tired.”
Adrian frowned and touched her forehead. “You feel warm. Please rest today, Savannah. I’ll take care of Liam.”
Savannah sighed softly. “You worry too much, Adrian.”
“And you hide too much,” he said gently, looking into her eyes.
Before she could reply, Liam jumped down and started running around the dining table, laughing. “Daddy, catch me if you can!”
Adrian laughed and ran after him. Savannah smiled as she watched them play, even though she still felt dizzy.
After breakfast, Adrian left for a short meeting, and Rose helped Savannah to her room.
Savannah lay down but couldn’t sleep. Her mind was restless. Her body felt different lately—she got tired easily, her mood changed often, and she couldn’t stand the smell of some foods.
Her hand rested on her stomach. A small thought entered her mind, and her heart began to beat fast.
“No… it can’t be,” she whispered.
But deep down, she knew it might be true.
She picked up her phone and called the family doctor.
“Hello, Doctor Grace?”
“Yes, Mrs. Knight,” the woman’s calm voice replied. “How are you feeling?”
“I’m not sure,” Savannah said softly. “I’ve been dizzy and throwing up in the morning. Please, can you come over?”
“I’ll be there soon,” the doctor said kindly.
When the doctor arrived, she examined Savannah carefully. After a few minutes, she smiled.
“Mrs. Knight,” she said warmly, “you’re not sick. You’re two months pregnant.”
Savannah froze. Her mouth opened slightly as she stared at the doctor. “P-pregnant?”
“Yes,” the doctor replied. “Congratulations, dear.”
Savannah’s eyes filled with tears. “Oh my God,” she whispered, placing her hand on her belly.
The doctor smiled and packed her tools. “You need to rest and eat well. I’ll come again next week.”
After she left, Savannah sat quietly by the window. Her mind was full. She didn’t know whether to cry or smile.
Another baby.
She thought of how far she had come—how she had suffered, healed, and finally found peace.
Maybe this was a new blessing.
She smiled softly. “Adrian will be so happy,” she said to herself.
When Adrian came home that evening, he found her sitting quietly in the living room, lost in thought.
“Hey, beautiful,” he said, walking toward her. “How are you feeling now?”
Savannah looked up slowly. Her eyes were shining with tears.
“Adrian,” she whispered.
He became worried and sat beside her. “What’s wrong, love?”
She smiled through her tears and held his hands, placing them gently on her stomach.
“Adrian… you’re going to be a father again.”
He blinked. “Wait—what? Are you serious?”
Savannah nodded, crying softly. “Yes, Adrian. I’m pregnant.”
For a moment, Adrian said nothing. Then he suddenly pulled her into his arms, hugging her tightly. “Oh my God, Savannah! You’ve made me the happiest man alive!”
Savannah laughed through her tears as he kissed her face again and again.
He placed his hand back on her stomach. “Hi little one,” he whispered happily. “Daddy’s here.”
Savannah giggled. “You’re crazy.”
“Crazy about you,” Adrian said with a big smile.
That night, they lay together holding hands. Savannah rested her head on his chest as he rubbed her belly gently.
For the first time in a long while, she felt truly at peace.
And this time, she knew she wasn’t alone — she had a husband who loved her deeply, a son who brought her joy, and now, a new life growing inside her.
