Chapter 110 Chapter 110
Two days had passed since Adrian surprised Savannah with gifts, and their home had been filled with nothing but laughter and peace. The weather was clear that morning, and the sun shone softly through the curtains.
Savannah was in the kitchen with Aunty Lisa, watching her boss the maids around. “Add more salt! No, not that much—eh! You people want to kill my son-in-law?” Aunty Lisa shouted, making everyone laugh.
Savannah giggled as she stirred a bowl of fruit salad. “Aunty Lisa, you act like Adrian can’t eat anything that’s not perfect.”
Aunty Lisa turned to her dramatically. “My dear, when a man is rich and handsome, you don’t give him nonsense food. You protect your marriage with your cooking skills!”
Savannah laughed so hard she almost dropped the spoon. “Aunty, you’re too funny.”
“Funny? I’m serious o,” Aunty Lisa said with a straight face. “Do you think beauty alone keeps a man? No, my dear, it’s food, love, and peace. You already have love and peace. Now make sure your food tastes like heaven.”
Savannah smiled, shaking her head. “I’ll try my best, Aunty.”
“Good girl,” Aunty Lisa said proudly. “Now go and check if the dining table is properly set. Adrian said he’s bringing some business partners tonight for dinner, right?”
“Yes,” Savannah said softly. “He mentioned it last night. I think he wants everything to go perfectly.”
“Then we must not fail,” Aunty Lisa said, clapping her hands for the maids. “You heard her! Make everywhere sparkle. I want this house shining like diamond before night comes!”
The maids moved quickly, cleaning, polishing, arranging flowers. Savannah went upstairs to check on Liam. He was lying in his crib, wide awake and kicking his little feet.
“Hey there, my prince,” she said with a warm smile. “You’re awake already?”
The baby smiled and made a small sound, waving his hands in the air. Savannah picked him up and kissed his forehead. “Your daddy is bringing guests tonight. We need to make everything look perfect.”
She sat with him for a while, feeding and talking softly to him. Then she dressed him in a clean white onesie and laid him back down to sleep.
Later that evening, Adrian returned home looking calm but a little tired. He was wearing a dark suit that made him look even more handsome. Savannah met him at the door.
“Welcome home,” she said with a gentle smile.
Adrian smiled back, touching her cheek. “Thank you, love. You look beautiful.”
She was wearing a light blue dress that made her look graceful and elegant. Her hair was tied neatly, and her smile alone could light up the whole room.
“Dinner is almost ready,” she said softly. “Aunty Lisa made sure everything is perfect.”
Adrian chuckled. “I can imagine. She’s more serious about this dinner than I am.”
“She said I must cook like heaven if I want to keep you,” Savannah teased.
Adrian laughed. “Then I’m staying forever.”
They both laughed, their eyes locked in quiet affection.
Soon, the sound of cars filled the compound. The maids hurried to open the gate, and Adrian’s business partners began to arrive—three men in fine suits, and one woman who looked elegant and professional.
“Good evening, Mr. Adrian,” one of them greeted warmly.
“Welcome,” Adrian said with a polite smile. “Please come in.”
Savannah stood beside him, smiling softly. “Good evening, everyone. You’re welcome.”
They all greeted her kindly, impressed by her gentle tone. One of the men whispered, “You have a very beautiful wife, sir.”
Adrian smiled proudly. “Thank you.”
Dinner was served shortly after. The table looked stunning—candles glowing, dishes steaming, and the air filled with the smell of spices and roasted meat.
Savannah served everyone quietly, making sure their plates were filled. Adrian couldn’t take his eyes off her. Every time she smiled or poured someone a drink, he felt grateful all over again.
The conversation at the table flowed smoothly. Adrian discussed business expansion plans, and his guests nodded in agreement. Savannah didn’t interrupt, but she listened with admiration.
Aunty Lisa stood at a distance, whispering to a maid, “See how our girl is glowing. I told you—when a woman is truly loved, it will show on her skin!”
The maid nodded, smiling. “It’s true, ma.”
By the end of dinner, everyone was satisfied. One of the guests even asked for Savannah’s recipe for the grilled chicken.
“This was amazing, Mrs. Liam,” the woman said warmly.
“Thank you so much,” Savannah said shyly.
When the guests finally left, Adrian turned to her and held her hand. “You made me proud tonight.”
Savannah looked surprised. “I didn’t do much.”
“You did everything,” Adrian said softly. “You made our home warm and beautiful. Thank you.”
Savannah smiled, her heart full. “I just wanted to make you happy.”
“You already do,” Adrian said, pulling her into a hug.
Aunty Lisa came out clapping. “Ehn ehn! Don’t hug too long, my food is still digesting!”
They all burst into laughter.
That night, when the house grew quiet, Savannah lay beside Adrian, thinking about the evening.
She felt peace again. The kind that comes when love is true and hearts are one.
She whispered softly, “Good night, my husband.”
Adrian pulled her close and said in a sleepy voice, “Good night, my heart.”
And for the first time in a long while, they both drifted to sleep with smiles on their faces.
