Chapter 80 Chapter 80
Theodore
There were desires that I should never give in. Ones that Uncle often frowned at. The reason he’ll never submit to anyone.
He had many women yet no one. He wouldn’t let anyone bore his child, won’t let anyone come too close to him.
“Theo, Lyubov eto razrushenie.” He’ll speak in Russian, with that smirk I have always seen on his face.
But I have never believed Uncle.
Even as a child, he didn’t make sense when he whispered to my father, his gaze heavily on my mother.
But I realized too late why he said that.
Blood.
Blood gushing out from the IV line.
Screams covered the space, the building burning. More screams covered my head, dragging every sanity.
“Fuck.” I held my head, between my legs as I stared at the piece of IV tubing on the floor, in front of me.
How did fuck did it get here? Who had dared bring it close?
Everyone was strictly warned not to let something like that around. Why would anyone do it?
And why the fuck couldn’t I still move?
“Because you are pathetic.
A killer of your own blood.
Look around you Theo, look around you.
You are alone now, you killed your brother!”
My skin prickled, and everything darkened.
blood, so much blood. My hands felt wet. I looked down and blood covered it.
Everything.
“No, I didn’t kill him. Fuck, why would I kill him!” I yelled, but the blood didn't stop.
It will never stop, because it was there to haunt me. So I stared at it, stared at Miguel’s leg, knowing he was pointing at me, with my mother by his side.
“I guess you are here to haunt me again.” I swallowed, dropping my hand from my head to look at them.
“When am I going to stop seeing you? Fuck that liar Sandra, she said I would stop seeing you.” I pulled my hair back.
“Aren’t you trying to run away so soon? Why? You want to live happily? You killed your brother!” Mother yelled, and my skin scrawled.
They weren’t real. I knew this.
I could tell, Everything was in my head.
Mother was even alive, scheming against me, so there was no way she had stood beside Miguel to haunt me. There is no way Miguel would support her torture.
But why won’t they leave me? Why could I still see them?
I have tried so many ways. Even trying to shoot them, only to end up wasting bullets on emptiness.
“How dare you try to ignore us?! You shouldn’t!” Mother yelled and dropped Miguel’s hands. She approached me with rage, and a cold sensation spread all over my neck from her hold.
“Since you dare to kill your brother, then turn to him.”
It wasn’t real.
Yet I looked up, and white light glared at me.
Mother appeared, her head blocking the light. “You can’t escape now, your body is bound.” She picked a syringe needle.
“Because you are my son, I’ll make it less painful, afterall you need to be healthy to be able to contain your brother.”
I want to say something. To rebuke her, but this isn’t real, so how could I speak?
“Theo,” Mother rubbed my hair back. “You know mother doesn’t hate you.” She shook her head, and a fake tear dropped.
“It’s just that……. How can I live without your brother? Miguel is everything, Theodore. A genius who has been perfect since birth, just like me. If only you were a bit like him, then I would be happy,” Her fingers traced my eyes.
“But then, even your eyes are of your father, there is no doubt that you will become useless like him, so let’s change that.” She nodded, cleaning tears from her cheeks.
“I can bring Miguel back through you, so let’s be patient, and don’t hate mother okay. I know you won’t because you also want him back.” She pressed the needles forward to my eyes.
Something sharp snapped at my ears and I groaned.
A light flashed on my face, then a screen.
An image scrolled in.
A letter followed in.
“Boss, Ms. Selena has entered the stalls.”
Who was that?
I looked up at the images, my eyes stinging.
Green dress, long hair braids in one, she turned, looking at me.
“You can’t stay there forever, let’s check another place.” Her cheeks rose in a smile.
“Selena,” I muttered now looking up at nothing.
I was back.
I looked at my hands, the room. It was just my study room, there was no blood, no mother, and no Miguel.
My gaze found my phone, on the floor, and on the screen was Selena, moving around each stall.
How?
How did she come in so easily? There was no doubt that I saw her.
How could a video of her snap me back into reality?
The therapist Hannah called has said there should be a grounding trigger around, something high-pitched to trigger Brian into coming back to reality.
Selena.
I should see her.
I stood up, and my gaze stopped at the syringe on the floor.
Whoever had done it, did it purposely.
Someone who knew how I had reacted to it. I looked around at the little office.
It seemed mother had gotten a hold of one of the maids.
Taking my phone out, I dialed Ethan.
It ranged, and he picked almost immediately.
“Send boys to the office, to take out all the cameras."
“Cameras? Your mother is really Sly. How did she get in there?” Ethan laughed. . As always he was amused.
“Send them, Ethan, and call Zac to meet in front.”
I ended the call.
I need to see, Selena.
And I indeed saw her, giggling with the servant assigned to her. And when I called her, she dropped her phone, refusing to pick up.
What was this feeling of aching in my chest as I watched her laugh with the servant?
How did she get this close to me?
Lyubov eto razrushenie.
Selena was.
