Chapter 79 Chaptet79
Selena
“Of all the young madams, master has brought here, you are certainly the nicest.” Svetlana moaned over the buns in her mouth. She held her bags to her chest as we moved around.
It seemed Theodore always brought someone there. Why do I feel so disappointed by that?
‘Of course you will. After all, you must have thought you were special. Stop getting ahead of yourself, Selena.’
I frowned at the voice in my head. I didn't think I was special.
Though he had always treated me great, I never thought of that. How could we be anything more?
My brows tightened. I rubbed my chest at the unpleasant sensation spreading through.
I wasn't bothered by that.
“How do they behave? And does Theo favour anyone?” I asked not looking at her.
I should know this at least. And besides I believe he won’t have given anyone permission to call him by his name right? He didn't seem like one.
“If you are allowed to call master that, then master must hold you close to his heart. Even Ms. Hannah doesn't call the boss by his name.”
Hannah again.
My eyes snapped to her.
Just who was this Hannah and why does everyone speak for her? She couldn't be his lover right?
A frown styling tremblingI wasn't with a cheating man right? But then is it even considered cheating? People like him could have all the women in the world.
But why do I feel so unsettled hearing about her? Even the housekeeper has spoken of her?
She seemed not just like a woman among his women.
I looked at Svetlana and asked. “Who is Hannah? Is it someone I should be wary of?”
“Hm.” She nodded. “Though I have never seen Ms. Hannah, I heard she is really obsessed with her boss. The first time she came with the master for a business trip, the older maids said they thought she was just a regular woman in the master's life, but with time, they came to think otherwise. Plus, master lets her do anything she wants, including firing the servants.” She frowned over the bun in her mouth.
It seemed there was more to Hannah. Someone given that much power should hold a place in Theo’s heart..
“When…..when is this Hannah coming here?” I asked, stuttering, trying not to be bothered by it.
“I heard she is in Russia working for the master, she should come here once she is aware of his return.” She nodded in confirmation of her words.
I guess it isn't bad having Svetlana as my servant. And she looked so ready to open up compared to before.
“You should eat more, pick anything you want.” I encouraged.
The more she eats, the more a willingness to spill.
“I think you should be careful of…..”
My phone vibrated, and I took it out of my pocket to take a look.
Theodore flashed on the screen. I hesitated, looking at the screen.
I should pick up the call, but then Svetlana was about to say something. Maybe I could get something useful from her.
I kept my phone back.
“What were you saying?” I turned to Svetlana, but her eyes were on her phone, and then, the bun on her mouth fell out.
“Ms….Ms, master is behind you.” Svetlana looked forward, at my back.
I frowned. What could Theodore be doing here? And why does Svetlana look so terrified?
My phone rang again, I took it out, turned back, and then I froze, my phone hanging as I saw him.
Theodore Mateo in a black tailored suit stood in the middle of the stalls. The light flattered his body, his classic slick back hair with a strand falling to his right eye.
His lazy eyes stared at me, narrowed down to my hand and my phone. He held his phone closer to his ears.
My pulse quickened.
What was he doing here?
I had ignored his call.
But my eyes couldn't be deceiving me right? I turned to my side to confirm my sight, but….
“Svetlana.”
Svetlana was gone.
That was quick.
But what was Theodore doing in the middle of the stalls?
An older woman and a kid stare at him in confusion as they pass by him.
Isn't he embarrassed, standing between people? He doesn't look fit for here at all.
I forced my feet to move forward.
With the way his lazy eyes stared down on me, he wasn’t going to move an inch.
I should be adding crazy to his list of attributes.
“Bos…I mean…” What should I call him? Last night, I addressed him as Theo because I was out of my mind and lost in pleasure. But now….
His eyes narrowed down on me, my body — my chest.
My face flushed. I wasn't fully aware of the deep neckline my dress before. Or maybe I was aware but paid no heed to it—until now that his eyes bore into my chest.
Before I could think, his hand wrapped around my waist, and he pulled me into him, our bodies pressing together.
“Why aren't you saying anything, Selena? You weren't so quiet like this last night.” He whispered into my ear, sending shivers down my body.
God.
I closed my eyes.
I didn't know what to feel. To be flustered at our skin being this close and him holding me this close in front of everyone.
“What are they doing in the middle of here? Younglings these days have no respect for food.”
I stepped back from him at the words, my eyes traced to the elderly man who frowned at us, or me. I bowed, muttered an apology.
But Theodore? He stood tall, completely unbothered as he stared at me, His hand still holding mine like he wasn't the one spoken to.
Of course, people like him couldn't be shamed.
I don't know what came over me, because the next thing, I held his hand, and started walking to the side. A place where my eyes had crossed to be silent.
Theodore dio say anything, not like I was looking at his tall self. And for some reason, he didn't feel so heavy to pull along.
I sighed when we reached the corner and turned to him.
“Boss, what are yo—”
His hand wrapped around my neck, and then I was pulled up into a kiss.
