I couldn't have enough of Selena. No matter how much I held her, how much I wrapped my hands around her body and stiffened her skin, I couldn't get enough. I wanted nothing more than to be alone with her. 

I wanted a lone time with Selena. And somehow it seemed I wouldn't be getting it, not when Stephen or whatever his name was decided to come in. 

When I gave the vacation, I never asked him to use it against me. 

Now that Selena was awake, maybe calling it off would teach him a lesson. He knew I was with Selena yet decided to come. I raised my brows as I glared at his head. 

But something else caught my attention, the way he was staring at Selena. 

He was audacious  doing it in front of me after knowing we were together, or didn't he know?

I was sure he knew, I had always made it known. Even now my hands were wrapped around Selena’s stomach, that was enough for him to know. 

They kept talking, forgetting I was there, totally forgotten, and just when I was about to give up, I heard the golden words. 

“I think I should rest now, my back is hurting,” Selena said and I couldn't help but grin. 

Yes, you all should leave, so I can have alone time with her. 

“Do you really want  to rest or you want to be with boss at your back?” 

Screw Rayan and his mouth. He actually has become so bold. I should teach him a lesson soon. 

Selena coughed, and her body heated up. As always she was easily flushed. 

“Ah ah,” She laughed. “I really do want to rest. As you can see I am pregnant, so it's needed.” She said in between her fake laughs. 

“You..you are pregnant?” Stephen asked, shocked, his voice breaking and I smirked. I should have hinted at that from the beginning so he would back off. 

“Is that why boss has his hands wrapped around your stomach?” He asked again in disbelief. 

If I wasn't pretending to be asleep now, this would have been the perfect chance to dismiss him forever. 

“I think so too..” Selena laughed and everything suddenly turned awkward. 

“Why didn't you tell me this? I knew you were with boss, but I didn't think it would be this soon for you to be pregnant, I mean you just came out of prison a while ago, isn't it too soon for you to be pregnant?” 

My brows tightened hearing his words, fuck pretending to sleep.

“And what’s wrong with being pregnant now? They both wanted the baby so? Do you have a timeline for being pregnant? Who do you think you are? ” 

I rested back hearing Joshua. I almost forgot he was here. 

Josh was one to keep around Selena. With him here, I don't have to worry about someone coming for Selena. 

“I..I didn't mean to say it that way, it’s just that it feels sudden. It came out wrong.. I apologize.” 

“No, it’s fine. Joshua definitely didn't mean it that way—” 

“I did. We should go now, she needs to rest.” From the rattling sounds, I knew Josh was packing up. 

“I’m sorry for offending you, I shouldn't have said that. I shouldn't have even thought of that.” He said again, and I wanted to slam his head against the wall. 

“But you have, Leave now,” I said, opening my eyes to look at him, and Selena turned sharply to me. 

“You weren't sleeping?” 

I shook my head. “No, I wasn't.” I could finally move my hands, I rubbed Selena’s stomach gently, hoping to hear my child's heartbeat. 

When Rayan had told me about Selena being pregnant, I had felt empty, and slowly there was a feeling. Fear. 

I was scared. What if our child took after my family, after me? I didn't want a child like that. But then another feeling came. 

Hope. 

Selena was a good woman. 

With her and the baby, he would never turn evil. As long as Selena was with me, then everything was fine. 

“I’m leaving boss.” 

I glared towards the source of the voice which belonged to Stephen. He forced a smile at me then he took off with Joshua. 

Finally it was just the two of us. 

I lifted myself to sit up, facing Selena.

“What was that?” She asked, her lips pouted and I wanted nothing more than to kiss her, so I did, leaning towards her for a kiss. 

Selena moaned when I deepened the kiss. Her lips were fucking sweet, fucking heart-whining, making me want more. 

My tongue searched for hers and when I found it, I sucked her, taking in her soft moans.

I could never get enough of Selena. 

Never. 

Her being in my arms was everything I would ever ask for. 

I broke the kiss and joined my head with hers. She smiled gently, trying to control her breath. 

“What were you saying?” I said in a whisper as we stared at each other. 

“Nothing.” She whispered back. 

A simple kiss was enough to make her less concerned about her thoughts. 

I smiled and pecked her forehead. I knew what she wanted to say before I kissed her. She wanted to tease me, but I didn't want her teasing with Stephen’s name. 

I didn't want to hear about him. 

A knock sounded from the door. 

“Come in,” I said and one of my men entered. 

“Boss, Mr Mateo wants to speak to you.” He said holding the phone towards me. 

My brows furrowed. What does uncle want? 

“Is anything wrong?” Selena asked and I turned to her. 

“No, he probably wants to talk about business.” I turned to him. 

“Bring it.” 

He handed me the phone and stepped out. I placed the phone on my ear. 

“Speak.” 

“Have you finally decided to be foolish like your father?” Mr Mateo yelled angrily, and I scoffed. He must really be pissed off for him to be this angry.

I couldn't recall the last time he was this enraged. But then he hated my father so much. His brother. 

Selena looked worried so I smiled at her. “Allow me speak to him?” 

I waited, and then she nodded. I moved closer to her and pecked her before stepping down from the bed to head to the bathroom. 

I had done everything to stay in bed with Selena, only to be disturbed by him. How unpleasant. 

“Theodore Vegas owns casinos our distributors frequent. Punishing someone like him may not affect us now, but it surely would soon. Have you ever thought of that?”

“Have you ever thought of taking over the business?” 

“What do you mean by that?” He said in his heavy Mexican accent. 

I rested on the wall. 

Last night after Selena slept, I started to think about everything.

A safe world for Selena and our child. And I couldn't find any within my world, so I decided to step out of it. That was the only way to ensure I never saw Selena in that way again. 

“I’m stepping down from the organisation.”
