Thirty Six

When Dionne felt tired, she thought of sitting on a sofa near her baby Denise, she closed her eyes and didn't realize that she fell asleep. While Lennox had just finished working in the emergency room, he returned to his office. He tried to push the door open only to think it was locked, good thing he had his spare key with him. After a while, he pushed the door open and his two guests were sound asleep. He smiled looking at the two. He sat down next to Dionne slowly so as not to disturb her. His whole body was very tired tonight. So he thought of leaning his back on the sofa. He heard someone knock on the door but he didn't waste time getting up because the door wasn't locked.

"Come in," said Lennox.

The door opened and Sahara entered, carrying a white folder, and handed it to him.

"I'm giving you something," he said but his eyes were on Dionne next to him.

"Alright. Thanks," Lennox replied.

"Didn't they come home?" Sahara asked.

"It's late. That's why I'm not sending them back to my house, which is dangerous. I'll just take them with me tomorrow when I go out," answered Lennox.

After a while, Sahara said goodbye so he stood up and locked the door. He saw Dionne move and she got up and then straightened herself.

"I thought who was next to me," Dionne said smiling at him.

Lennox laughed.

"You thought your ex-boyfriend left you? I guess you're still dreaming," he joked.

"No way! In his dreams. I don't want him anymore. Come on, go to sleep," Dionne answered and pulled him to lie down next to her.

So Lennox was stunned. They weren't this close before but now he felt awkward especially when he feels strange about its sweetness. While Ayesha is already missing her friend, she is now in the kitchen while eating. It was late but she still wasn't sleepy. She misses talking to her friend Dionne. Because they have their own lives now, she wants her to be happy so she will let her do what she wants to do that makes her happy. She feels sad every time she is left alone at home. Now Kiley is only here so she has someone with her, after three months she will also go back to work. If she has the chance, she will invite her friend and they will go shopping and go to the spa and get a massage, she treats Dionne so that she won't be sad like this. She looked at the kitchen door to see Kiley looking at her.

"What's wrong? Are you okay?" Kiley asked and leaned against the door jamb.

"I'm sad because I miss Dionne and Baby Denise. I always seem to see them in every corner of our house," Ayesha answered.

“Don’t be sad. You can visit her every time you want. It's not that you're complaining here and feeling sad. That's how life is, you don't get to spend time with your friend every day, but the important thing is that the company of the two of you is still the same. And you will never lose that respect," said Kiley.

Kiley approached her and hugged her tightly.

"Thank you for loving me with all your heart. I don't know if I can live without you," said Ayesha.

"Of course. I love you so much. That's why I want us to be together through thick and thin," Kiley answered with a smile and kissed her on the cheek.

“I love you too,” Ayesha answered.

The next day Lennox was out of work. They are getting ready to go home. He carried baby Denise so they could go home easily. He feels sorry for Dionne because she is too tired from work and babysitting. He was happy that somehow he could help her and make her happy. Soon they left the office with Dionne following behind him. A few hours later they were in the car and driving home. The coldness of the morning made him want to soak in bed all day and sleep soundly. He just looked at Dionne with her eyes closed as she slept soundly in the front seat. This girl is beautiful up close. So it's always nice to look at. Until they reached the house, he kept glancing at Dionne's. He doesn't know what life awaits him in the future but for now, he is happy with them. He has a friend and a baby with him. He admitted that he misses his nephew and his son so sometimes he looks for their presence in his life.

He went out first to open the car door for Dionne because it was now carrying Denise. The woman is lethargic as if she is not herself. So he immediately felt his forehead when they entered the house that he might have a fever. But his temperature is normal, maybe he's just too tired and needs rest.

"Are you okay?" asked Lennox.

"Yes. I'm just a little tired. Maybe Denise can take care of me for a while. I'll just sleep now. I can just breathe a little and I'll be fine," she answered with a smile.

"Sure," answered Lennox sparingly.

"Are you sure? Maybe you also need rest because you haven't slept much in months," she said.

Now they were inside the house and the three of them sat in the living room while talking.

"It's okay. I'm not tired yet," Lennox answered.

"Thank you for everything," she said and gave him a big hug.

Lennox was left smiling, only Dionne's sweetness made him dissolve and all his tiredness would suddenly disappear like that. While Denise was in front of him and sleeping soundly in her crib. He is lucky enough that he got them in his life. When he is go home from work and saw them in his house made him happy in an instant. They are his dependant when he is tired and ready to take a rest.
