Chapter 35: Thirty Five

"Is it okay that we're here?" he asked Lennox.

"Of course," answered the man, still holding Denise.

"You might get scolded. It's late now and I thought we'd just stay here and not go home. Because I have a child with me," Dionne said and faced Lennox.

“Yes. This is my office. So you can be here, and it's dangerous to travel at night," answered Lennox.

“Thank you. Get dressed before eating. You're wearing a lot of sweat," Dionne said then took two face towels and approached Lennox and lifted his clothes, and wiped his wet back.

"Your mommy Dionne is too considerate, Denise," said Lennox and was talking to her daughter.

Her baby was laughing as if he understood what Uncle Lennox said.

“Of course. You are important to Denise and me, so I will take care of you," he answered.

After a while, he took out Lennox's clothes and took his baby Denise so she could get dressed and fed. While Lennox entered the toilet of his office and got dressed, he was happy because Dionne came to him and brought him food. So he quickly went out and then sat on the sofa and started eating.

"Do you have food here?" Dionne asked.

"My colleague gave it to me," he answered.

"Ah, that must have been the female doctor I met earlier who raised her eyebrows at me as if I had committed a crime against her," Dionne said as Lennox frowned.

"Are you talking about Sahara?" asked Lennox.

"Maybe. The girl with white and curly hair" answered Dionne.

"Why? Did he fight you?” he asked.

"Not at all. But he is angry with me. And I do not know why. I know why he did that," Dionne answered.

"What's that?" Lennox frowned when he asked.

"That girl likes you. Maybe she thought we were in a relationship that's why she's like that. That's why I told her, may the best woman win," Dionne answered with a laugh.

Lennox also smirked as if he laughed at the conversation between the two but at the same time, he frowned.

"So if you're the one in a relationship, you're just going to let your boyfriend be with someone else? And plan to steal him away from someone else?" he asked.

"Not really. I just laughed at her reaction when I confronted her that she likes you. Who wouldn't like someone like you?" replied Dionne.

Lennox stopped and looked at Dionne.

"You'll like me too, just in case?' asked Lennox.

"Of course. If my situation wasn't like this, I would accept the idea that I would like you," Dionne answered.

"What's the difference between then and now?" asked Lennox.

He feels that he is feeling sorry for himself again because of what happened.

"Of course. I have a child now and I know that no one will kill someone like me," he answered.

"Why not? If you ask me, single mothers like you are ideal women. Despite being abandoned by a man, you chose to get up and move on with life. That's why I'm proud," said Lennox.

He saw how Dionne was stunned and stared at him. He is telling the truth that he should not worry because someone like him can fall in love with someone like this. He is slowly falling but then he will admit if he fully feels for her. Right now he is still happy to have her by his side. It is not questionable to love a single mother like this. After he ate he heard him calling.

"Paging, Doctor Lennox Brooke. Your presence is badly needed in the emergency room. Thank you," said a female voice.

That's one of their nurses here. Good thing he finished eating.

"I have to go, Dionne. Just lock the door here, okay?" he said then put on the laboratory gown.

He kissed Baby Denise's cheek and finally Dionne's. He quickly went to the emergency room. What happened again?

On the other hand, Sahara is a very bad shot at that girl. She had no right to be angry but because she loved Lennox so much she was going to be upset. From the beginning, she lost because they had a child. But she hopes that the two are not really in a relationship because she heard rumors that they are just friends. But she doubts that there is a relationship because they are too sweet to each other. She couldn't understand why she liked that man so much if she had many lovers. Because his good looks are different compared to other men and she feels that he is very kind so she can't help but fall in love with the man. But Lennox ignores her as if her beauty isn't here. It's more humble that she's so beautiful compared to that girl. But no matter how much she noticed, Lennox couldn't see her as a beautiful woman.

She is trying her best to be noticed by men. He serves him food even though he looks like a fool. It's okay because he notices her as a work colleague but it still hurts. But he won't stop until the two are married. While Dionne was putting Baby Denise to sleep while Lennox was still outside. She locks the door so that if someone comes in, they will just knock. He used to dream of graduating and wanted to be a flight attendant, but there are requirements for such a job, but she is accepted because she is tall, and if she talks about it well, she will have something to be proud of.

She waited a few hours for Lennox because she must have been doing something important. She has carefully arranged her baby's bed and is just watching her so she doesn't fall. It was quiet around Lennox's office. Because it's at the end of the corner. She was afraid to go to the hospital because there were many patients in poor condition but she had no choice but to go because she wanted to bring food to Lennox.
