CHAPTER 29 The one who wanted to kill her was Liz
Stephanie rushed to Jack madly, but had fell unconscious and was lying in the sticky blood pool motionless, like a dead man.
"No, no Jack! You have to be alright! Are you listening?" She put her head on Jack's chest, but she heard no heartbeat. Hugging Jack's body, she felt like the body which used to be healthy and vigorous was gradually turning cold.
All at once, her love for Jack became clear. She loved him, even when he's dead. The barrier between them vanished. She could finally face her feeling, but why the reality was so cruel?
"Why, why…" She murmured, still holding Jack tight. Tears flooded out, but she had never felt more despaired. Her eyes had turned blank, like extinguished fire.
In that moment, Jack's kiss at the airport came to her mind. She could now understand why Jack was so excited. The wet on her neck was his tears.
But it was too late. It was too late when she realized that Jack loved her that much.
"Hahahaha!" The crazy laughter dragged Stephanie out of her chaotic thoughts. She raised her head mechanically and saw Liz who just got off from car laughing hysterically.
It was all clear then. The one who wanted to kill her was Liz.
Her hatred burst out, making her look extremely formidable, but it lasted for a mere moment. She felt tired, exhausted, so exhausted that she wanted to lie down with Jack.
Seeing that Stephanie was not paying her attention, Liz was frustrated and walked over to them. She looked at Stephanie condescendingly and spoke in a vicious way, "Stephanie, look at what you have done. You always bring catastrophes to those around you."
"It's you. It has always been you…" Stephanie glared at Liz with tears flickering in her eyes.
"Stop looking at me in that way. It's not going do any harm to me." Liz slapped on her head. "I haven't finished. Don't be so anxious. I guess you know what happened next. It took me much effort trying to kill the baby and frame you. Do you remember that car accident that nearly killed you? You really surprised me by surviving that."
"Say something, Steph. Look at what you've done. Don't you want to give some comments? First Steve, then Jack, how many people are you going to kill?" Liz was totally crazy. She suddenly came up with an idea and assumed a naïve attitude. "What about I kill you here? The world is going to benefit from your death."
"You are mad, Liz. You are totally mad!" Stephanie finally started speaking. She stared at Liz, her eyes completely free of fear.
"No, no. There is nothing to talk with a person like you. I am going to kill you, and then kill that little bastard!"
Lying on the ground, Jack heard all of Liz's words, which nearly killed his last feeble breath. To his surprise, the person behind all these was Liz, who had always been staying with him, caring for him. She was the one who schemed all these! But when he heard her last few sentences, his anger turned to concern for Stephanie. He wanted Stephanie to leave here and stay away from here, but he was unable to move his body, like a real dead man.
