225: Well, Here Goes Nothing...
**Rameric's POV: **
As much as I wanted her to be able to enjoy the presence of her little brother and his newly found transformation capabilities. I knew I really needed to get her washed and, therefore, relaxed. Brazen nor his wolf, Blaze, needed to know where she had been this past week, at least not just yet.
He was still getting used to his duties within the pack, amongst his training. Thinking about her condition is not something a young wolf such as himself should have to be concerned about. I closed my eyes for a moment, hoping that my connection to my mate would help bridge the connection I was soon to have with her younger brother as well. Before a new member of the pack is able to hear the commands of the Alpha, there is a special ceremony that is to take place.
Knowing that did not stop me, as I knew I was going to attempt and try anyway. Well, here goes nothing. I opened up my eyes and looked from my mate, feeling the full effects of the Mate Bond when I turned to look at her younger brother's wolf.
'*Brazen, I know you feel for your sister, but she really needs her rest*,' I told him at first, willing him to hear my words from within.
To my surprise and astonishment, his wolf turned away from that of my mate and looked directly at me. I knew then that he could hear my words. Now, there was only one question that remained within the confines of my mind. If he did hear me, would he know how to understand my words and create a response in return?
'*How, how are you able to speak to me, and like this without actual words*!?' The young boy asked immediately in return.
I raised one corner of my mouth when I looked back into his wolf's eyes. The wolf started to whimper with anticipation, knowing that I was his true Alpha and would listen to his Alpha's commands, if and when I commanded it to be done. However, there was an important detail that was growing in the back of my mind. This was not just any young wolf I was communicating with in this case.
This was the younger brother of my one true mate. He is one of the only living descendants of The Fierce Lerion Warrior, and such a bloodline did not need to be commanded but more guided in his younger years. I took a moment to look down at my Bonded Mate, lying there in my arms. The one who I have searched for and finally came upon as fate would have it. Soon, I would make it known at the Moon High Muster that I, Alpha Caine, of the Crimson Caine, have found my one true mate.
'*I am able to communicate with you, as I am the Alpha of this pack, and you, being a part of that pack, are able to hear my words*,' I said as I had hoped that would suffice his questions for now.
'*Can Asia hear you like I can? Has she turned into a wolf yet? Can her wolf hear you like I can hear you!? Can you believe that I turned into a wolf just like you did? Did you hear his howl*?'
Apparently, I was wrong in hoping that one simple answer would satisfy a bright young boy such as a descendant of the Fierce Lerion Warrior. '*Young Brazen, you are very bright, and I would love to communicate with you more, really. However, I must be tending to your sister right now. Would you allow me to tend to her needs now*?'
Suddenly, without a response from Brazen, I watched as his wolf stood up on all four paws and lowered his head as if he were upset about something when Blaze started to snarl at me. Rager was not going to take kindly to a pack member showing such fierce denial of the request by his Alpha and started to growl in immediate response. I had an idea why he was growling but did not have the chance to say anything as my mate spoke up right then.
"Rameric, how could you ...?" My mate, Alasia, asked me, breathing somewhat hard at this point. She then looked at Blaze and said, "You need to stop it, Brazen. Stop it right now. I am not going to have either of you have at each other like this."
Spoken like a true Luna of her pack, my Bonded Mate. "Now is not the time for this," she said, turning to look at the two men standing there beside his wolf. "Bryce and Gideon, was it? You are to take Blaze and Brazen back to his room."
She laid her head back as I raised the back side of my arm to help support her head while she attempted to rest it there. I knew she was tired from trying to look at her little brother's wolf when Blaze stopped snarling at me and started to whimper, lowering his head and looking at her this time.
"We can do this any other time, just not tonight," she said as she raised her head and reached her hand out toward the side of Blaze's head. She started to rub the back side of his ear when she continued, saying, "I do not have the strength right now, Brazen. Please, do this for me."
The wolf licked her outstretched fingers once more before he turned to snarl at me one last time. That is when I heard her little brother's voice saying, '*This is not over. You allowed my sister to get hurt, and it's all your fault. I want to talk with you when she doesn't know*.'
As Blaze started to leave, I heard Brazen's wolf start to whimper as his wolf lept over the pile of broken wood lying there in the entry of my chambers once again. The last time, it was Rager who broke down the doors. At least I knew he was going to grow into a grand and strong young wolf. If he could break the doors down with ease at this young age, there is no telling how powerful his wolf Blaze might become. He was not a descendant of The Fierce Lerion Warrior for no reason, and today stood attest to that fact.
It was a great thing we lived surrounded by fast-growing trees. Otherwise, I might have had a shortage of supplies of this nature.
