Chapter 66

Freshia Ava’s POV

I was standing near the window frame, looking at the seemingly endless expanse of the flower garden while enjoying the gentle breeze that came my way. Made my eyes close to feel the cool air that morning. However, suddenly I felt a cold that pierced my skin. When I opened my eyes, the expanse of flower garden that had been spread out in front of me had just disappeared, replaced by a thick pile of snow. Suddenly, the previously bright sky turned completely dark, turning the previously bright atmosphere into a very tense one.

I walked backward away from the window, but suddenly my steps were caught by the edge of the bed, making my body unbalanced and I fell sitting on it. My gaze was still directed at the tense atmosphere outside the window. It made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up and my heart was filled with deep fear. Until a split second later the figure of the woman I loved most in my life appeared in front of me. She smiled calmly at me. Her face was radiant. Makes my heart calm instantly. All my fears just disappeared and the atmosphere around me turned bright.

My Grandma closed the window in front of me and then walked towards me. I returned her calm gaze until I didn't realize my eyes were already filled with tears that were ready to fall. My Grandma got closer to me and I couldn't help but hug her body. At the same time, the tears in my eyes fell instantly. I sobbed while hugging her. Then I felt a hand full of warmth caressing my head and back while whispering. “The Freshia that Grandma knew was a strong woman. Cry to become stronger. You are a strong woman who can pass all the tests in your life, Freshia. Remember what I taught you to always follow your heart."

I released my hug from my grandmother and looked up to see her calming face. “Freshia misses you,” I said softly. After that, my grandma smiled at me and kissed my forehead warmly, making me close my eyes to feel her warmth covering my entire soul.

Suddenly my eyes opened. I found myself on the bed with my pillow slightly wet and tears that had dried on my cheeks. It turns out it was all a dream. And my grandmother, the woman I love and miss the most, came to visit my dreams. Even so, the warmth of her caresses and kisses felt very real to me. I smile. Thank you for coming and making me feel like I'm not alone, Grandma. I said to myself.

After that, I changed my body position to lie down. Facing the dark ceiling of the room because I deliberately turned off the lights to make it feel shady. I glanced at the clock on the wall which still showed half past three in the morning. But because I woke up earlier, I still couldn't fall asleep. While I was silent, my mind flashed back to Martin's words yesterday morning that this afternoon, we would leave this place and she was forcing me to go abroad with her. However, after thinking about it many times, my heart felt heavy and I couldn't bear to leave my grandmother's final resting place here. I don't want to be far from her. I'm also confused about what to do. My life seemed to be destroyed instantly and I didn't know where to go. But one thing is certain, I have decided, no matter what, I don't want to leave this country.

Martin seemed busy putting the things we were going to bring into the trunk of his car with the help of his subordinate who would also be our driver today. Our flight is twenty minutes past one and the clock is currently eight o'clock. Martin said that the journey from here to the airport takes approximately three hours.

"Have you confirmed that all your belongings have been brought?" Martin asked me and I just answered with a nod. “You get in the car first, Freshia. I'll check inside the house one more time before we actually leave,” he said again. I immediately followed his words and got into the car.

Ten minutes later, I saw Martin come out of the house and seemed to lock the door. While he is away, the house will be guarded by a resident who lives not far from here. Martin said he was a trusted confidant who had worked with his mother for a long time. Not long after that, Martin immediately followed me into the car and sat beside me. Then the car we were riding in left the yard.

Throughout the journey, I just stared at the view outside the window on my left until Martin started a conversation between us. “Freshia, are you angry with me?” he asked.

I turned to look at him who was looking at me and shook my head. "No. Why am I angry with you." I answered.

“I apologize for my behavior and words yesterday which were certainly inappropriate for you, Freshia. I don't mean to force you or anything, but I just don't want you to go back to Eros and have him be cruel to you."

Shouldn't your main reason be my safety and my happiness? Is it because you don't want me to return to Eros? Does that mean you just don't want to lose to him? I said to myself. But I chose not to start the debate. I just want to enjoy this trip in peace.

“It's okay, I understand, Martin. Maybe if I were you and faced conditions like that, I would also act like you."

“Thank you for your understanding, Freshia. I hope you will be even happier after we move abroad. I hope our relationship can also be better than now."

Actually, I don't really understand the meaning of Martin's last sentence. But again, I just don't want to argue and talk at length right now. After that, until we arrived at the airport, I decided to close my eyes.

Martin woke me up and I found that the car we were in had entered the airport area, which meant we would soon get out of the car. After the car stopped in the lobby, we immediately got out and took our things out of the trunk of the car. Then we immediately entered the airport and headed to the check-in area. In almost thirty minutes we finished checking in and after that, Martin and I headed to the waiting room to wait for our plane.

The clock showed ten to one and information regarding the readiness of the fleet of planes we would be traveling on had been spread throughout the airport area and waiting room. Martin immediately invited me to get on the plane. He booked us in business class and here I am now. Sitting next to Martin in business class. Time passed so quickly that the flight crew announced that the plane would take off in about five minutes.

"Martin, I want to go to the bathroom first," I said to Martin who at that time was reading a magazine in his hand. He just nodded his head and I immediately moved from my place to the back area, out of the business area, and then towards the plane door which at that time was still open and there was the plane crew in front of it. I quickly passed them and exited the plane door. “This is my ticket, a business class passenger with seat number 6A. I didn't go because I had urgent business." I said to one of the crew before I ran away from the fuselage.
